In the history of the ISFL, there have only been 5 (by my count) drafts where over 110 draftees were chosen. Those are Seasons 1, 15, 18, 21, and 25. Season 1 has the most players drafted with 137. (makes sense, it’s the inaugural one!) After that, Season 21 takes second place with 128, followed by Season 15 with 118, Season 25 with 115, and Season 18 with 111.
With that fun fact of the top 5 biggest drafts finished up and behind us, let’s get to the main point of the article. Over in the PBE when I was just starting out, I needed a bit of a starting point for money. So I wrote some very specific types of media. And with me being so rudely rejected for not one, not two, but THREE ISFL league jobs this offseason (I’m joking, those that declined my job applications were very polite and I respect their decisions), I need a way to make a bunch of money fast to try and bolster Gajeel Redfox’s career. So, what better way to do it, than to write some media in the same way that I did in the PBE. That is, to make an all-draft class team. This takes a draft class, breaks it down by position, and drafts a roster based on the best at the best at each position, with the massive benefit of hindsight on a player’s long career. One thing that you can learn from me by reading my media pieces in both the PBE, and now here in ISFL, is that I like statistical analysis on a VERY baseline level. I like looking at stats briefly, saying “Yeah that looks like a good/bad player”, and moseying on at a fast-as-one-can-technically-mosey pace. So this type of thing is right up my alley. Now it is worth noting, that this type of media was done once before, by 3lewsers, who, actually cited my media as an inspiration for that one, so that was kinda nice to see. But as far as I can tell, that media is the only one of this type that’s been done in the ISFL? And it was 3 years ago, so hopefully this feels fresh enough to readers!
First up, I had to decide which draft class to focus on. I wanted a large draft class to have multiple options to build the team. But which one to pick? Now admittedly, this type of media is far easier to make in the PBE rather than the ISFL for multiple reasons. First, PBE’s position tracker makes it much easier to see a draft class broken down by position. Some of the drafts in the ISFL do have this breakdown, but of the 5 that I was looking at (the 5 mentioned in the first sentence of this media article, only S15, S21, and S1 (kinda) had this breakdown at the bottom of the initial post in the draft thread. I say “kinda” for S1, because Noble, who posted the draft, clearly WANTED to put the breakdown in the draft, but seemed to run out of space in the post, which concerns me for the amount of writing I’m planning on doing in this article, and wondering if I’m going to hit the character limit! Which would be really….
Nah, that would be a really small character limit though. So between S15 and S21, I did decide on Season 21 because it’s more recent, and because the class seems to be a bit more even in their position breakdown, while S15 just had a few positions with a TON of players. Maybe if people like this media enough that I wind up doing another one, S15 will be the next draft class I’ll focus on. Back to the reasons why this type of media is more difficult here than in PBE, the PBE Index has a History section where it’s much easier to see the stats of retired players at a glance, and the position tracker doesn’t link to player pages, so it’s much more difficult to determine if a player actually played in the ISFL, and how they did. WolfieBot does help for the statistics, but if a player changed their name or retired prior to ISFL play, they don’t show on the statistical lookup. So this media may be flawed from the start. Though the fact that the TPE Tracker shows the highest TPE for a retired player is REALLY helpful. Because I do take earned TPE into account when making these all-draft teams, in addition to their statistics over their careers.
Maybe I’m just making too much out of the pre-team-construction warmup, maybe I should just dive right in. Here we go!
First, let’s look at the list of players by position.

QUITE a few names. So let’s narrow it down a bit and mark down our workload. Using both the TPE tracker and WolfieBot, I’m going to cut out all players that don’t have stats saved in WolfieBot’s database. Gonna need to adjust this for name and position changes, and am also going to adjust the TPE to match the peak TPE for each player, rather than their TPE at time of drafting.

Wow! We cut it down quite a bit! Of the 128 draftees, we have cut it down to just 46. That’s just over ⅓ of the draftees! Which means that the remaining 82 draftees were removed from consideration from this article, just based on the fact that they’re not in the Statistical Lookup, likely meaning that they never made it to the ISFL during their careers and don’t have stats there as a result. Now let’s get into the meat of this article. Forming the team. We’re going to take a look at each position, and determine, subjectively, the best player at each position in this draft. This isn’t just TPE, this is looking at the stats of the players in hindsight, and seeing who performed the best at their position during their career in the league.
QUARTERBACK:
Leafer - George O’Donnell - 1284 TPE - 33,796 Pass Yards, 6.986 Pass average, 183 Pass TD’s, 83.915 Pass Rating (8 seasons)
Jackets28 - Chika Fujiwara - 1377 TPE - 27,509 Pass Yards, 6.728 Pass average, 157 Pass TD’s, 80.861 Pass Rating (7 seasons)
Analysis:
Right off the bat, we have kind of a difficult one. These two QB’s are VERY similar in stats, especially considering that Fujiwara played one less season than O’Donnell did. If Fujiwara played another season, maybe they could have had a phenomenal season that increased their career pass average and pass rating, and netted them 26 more TD’s and 6.2k more passing yards. That said, while the 26 more TDs is believable (Fujiwara had 26 in a season 3 different times during their career), 6.2k passing yards in a season, when they never cracked 4.8, is less believable. And who knows what would have happened with the pass average and pass rating. So while these two are VERY close, the argument for Fujiwara seems limited to hypotheticals and a higher TPE.
Verdict: GEORGE O’DONNELL
------------------------------------------------------------
RUNNING BACK:
Frostbite - Chizuru Ichinose - 1511 TPE - 9213 Rush Yards, 4.340 Rush Average, 82 Rush TDs. 409 Receptions, 4194 Receiving Yards, 10.254 Receiving Average, 26 Receiving TDs (9 seasons)
SwagSloth - Baby Yoda - 986 TPE - 7130 Rush Yards, 3.985 Rush Average, 66 Rush TDs. 322 Receptions, 2360 Receiving Yards, 7.329 Receiving Average, 10 Receiving TDs (8 seasons)
GoonerBear - Rando Cardrissian - 1054 TPE - 6329 Rush Yards, 3.943 Rush Average, 47 Rush TDs. 256 Receptions, 2304 Receiving Yards, 9.000 Receiving Average, 8 Receiving TDs (8 seasons)
fballturkey - Rick Skuff - 332 TPE - 223 Rush Yards, 4.055 Rush Average, 0 Rush TD’s, 70 Receptions, 484 Receiving Yards, 6.914 Receiving Average, 2 Receiving TDs (3 seasons)
Analysis: So right off the bat, this looks like a fairly one-sided battle. Rick Skuff just doesn’t have the stats to compete here, and Rando Cardrissian is just outclassed by Baby Yoda in every stat we’re looking at, minus Receiving Average which is pretty well in-favor for Rando. So it comes down to Baby Yoda and Chizuru Ichinose, with the main argument for Baby Yoda being that they played one less season than Ichinose, and maybe some of the stats could be more comparable to Ichinose’s with one more season played, similar to our QB battle. That said, Yoda would need 2100 more rushing yards, 16 more rushing touchdowns, 87 more receptions, 1834 more Receiving Yards, and 16 more receiving touchdowns all in one season to meet Ichinose’s stats. Yoda’s career highs in these stats are as follows:
1217 Rushing Yards
14 Rushing Touchdowns
63 Receptions
415 Receiving Yards
3 Receiving Touchdowns
Yoda would have to have a massive, uncharacteristic season to meet the stats of Ichinose, let alone best those stats. Yeah, that probably wasn’t going to happen.
Verdict: CHIZURU ICHINOSE
------------------------------------------------------------
WIDE RECEIVER:
Wombat - Ed Barker - 1252 TPE - 734 Receptions, 11,730 Receiving Yards, 15.981 Receiving Average, 73 Receiving TD’s (9 seasons)
juniped - Flash Panda - 1015 TPE - 474 Receptions, 6,787 Receiving Yards, 14.319 Receiving Average, 42 Receiving TD’s (9 seasons)
Voltaqe - Chris Kross - 517 TPE - 192 Receptions, 2,786 Receiving Yards, 14.510 Receiving Average, 14 Receiving TD’s (5 seasons)
RedArrow12c - Red Arrow - 444 TPE - 73 Receptions, 1,086 Receiving Yards, 14.877 Receiving Average, 5 Receiving TD’s (3 seasons)
Raheem James - Raheem Okusi - 365 TPE - 49 Receptions, 698 Receiving Yards, 14.245 Receiving Average, 2 Receiving TD’s (1 season)
Get_Right - Jerome Davis - 287 TPE - 57 Receptions, 687 Receiving Yards, 12.053 Receiving Average, 4 Receiving TD’s (2 seasons)
YoungTB - Justice Green - 62 TPE - 3 Receptions, 49 Receiving Yards, 16.333 Receiving Average, 0 Receiving TD’s (1 season)
Analysis: This one’s fairly clear. Green, Davis, Okusi, Arrow and Kross just don’t have the stats to match up with Barker and Panda, and while both of those two have 9 seasons under their belt, Ed Barker’s stats are just objectively better. Panda’s Receiving Yards, TDs, and Receptions are all just over half of Barker’s, despite them playing in the same number of seasons.
Verdict: ED BARKER
------------------------------------------------------------
TIGHT END:
3lewsers - James Lewandowski - 1172 TPE - 681 Receptions, 6,363 Receiving Yards, 9.344 Receiving Average, 31 Receiving TD’s, 298 Other Pancakes (5 seasons)
RenoJacksonHS - Tree Gelbman - 1068 TPE - 438 Receptions, 3,746 Receiving Yards, 8.553 Receiving Average, 20 Receiving TD’s, 310 Other Pancakes (7 Seasons)
Iamdumberdore - Gronk Robertoswki - 290 TPE - 24 Receptions, 169 Receiving Yards, 7.042 Receiving Average, 0 Receiving TD’s, 41 Other Pancakes (4 Seasons)
thefrowntownclown - Rainier Wolfcastle - 289 TPE - 136 Receptions, 1,163 Receiving Yards, 8.551 Receiving Average, 5 Receiving TD’s, 89 Other Pancakes (4 seasons)
Analysis: This one’s also pretty easy. Robertoswki and Wolfcastle after 4 seasons have much lower stats than Lewandowski in 5, so they’re already out of the running. And while Lewandowski has less seasons, they actually have more receptions, receiving yards and TDs, and a better average than Tree Gelbman in 7 seasons. What Gelbman has going for them though, is a larger amount of pancakes, but it’s only by 12. I have a good amount of confidence that if Lewandowski played one more season, that they’d match, if not exceed, the amount of pancakes that Gelbman had.
Verdict: JAMES LEWANDOWSKI
------------------------------------------------------------
OFFENSIVE LINE
Lemon - Future Trunks - 926 TPE - 354 Other Pancakes, 2 sacks allowed (4 seasons)
Briedaqueduc - Simon Tremblay - 878 TPE - 708 Other Pancakes, 14 sacks allowed (8 seasons)
ScorpXCracker - Dorfus Jimbo Jr - 607 TPE - 430 Other Pancakes, 28 sacks allowed (7 seasons)
DynamicDoug - Douglas Quail - 405 TPE - 383 Other Pancakes, 9 sacks allowed (7 seasons)
Perry87 - Perry Tucker Jr. - 342 TPE - 173 Other Pancakes, 13 sacks allowed (5 seasons)
Analysis: It’s worth noting that a few of these players split time between OL and another position, most notably Future Trunks, who has some pretty good receiving stats over 4 seasons, comparable to a trajectory that would lead to a Flash Panda-style of career. I debated putting Trunks in the Wide Receiver battle, either instead of, or in addition to, OL. However, since Trunks ended their career protecting the QB, rather than receiving passes from them, I decided to keep them here. And this was tougher than I thought initially. Tucker Jr. was out due to lower stats immediately, as was Jimbo Jr., due to having around 300 less pancakes, and double the allowed sacks compared to Tremblay in only one less season. And while Quail had less sacks than Tremblay in only one less season, they also had around 300 less pancakes. So this was between Tremblay and Trunks. And this fight is actually REALLY close. While Trunks only played half the seasons at OL that Tremblay did, if you double Trunks’s stats to match the same amount of seasons, they have EXACTLY the same amount of pancakes, with 10 less sacks allowed. So Tremblay allowed more sacks on average, but also was fiercer on the protection, pancaking way more defenders. And this is why it’s difficult. Tremblay has more years of production for a larger sample size, but also has allowed a decent amount of sacks. It’s the known versus the unknown. Would Trunks really match Tremblay on the pancakes with 10 less sacks allowed if Trunks played 4 more seasons on the OL? I’m not too sure. Especially considering that the 4 seasons on OL were the seasons in Trunks’s prime. If the 4 seasons prior where they were receiving passes were on the OL, would the TPE and attributes be enough to put up those big numbers? If they played 4 more seasons after those that they played on the OL, would they be able to fight the regression enough to double the pancakes? I think I’m opting to take the sure thing over the potential here, but it’s definitely one of the closest battles we’ve had so far in this media piece.
Verdict: SIMON TREMBLAY

DEFENSIVE END
nunccoepi - Immanuel Blackstone* - 1479 TPE - 526 Tackles, 116 TFLs, 88 Sacks, 11 FF’s (13 seasons)
rapideagle - Rapid Eagle - 1123 TPE - 403 Tackles, 58 TFLs, 76 Sacks, 13 FF’s (10 seasons)
ItsJustBarry - Logan Noble Jr - 594 TPE - 302 Tackles, 65 TFLs, 41 Sacks, 4 FFs (7 seasons)
Hi_mynameis_Matt - Matt Hole - 308 TPE - 173 Tackles, 63 TFLs, 18 Sacks, 1 FF (5 Seasons)
mcast55 - Chip Otle - 298 TPE - 53 Tackles, 18 TFLs, 7 Sacks, 3 FFs (3 Seasons)
jeffpersonsacker - Jeff Personsacker - 94 TPE - 30 Tackles, 3 TFLs, 0 Sacks, 0 FF’s (2 Seasons)
Analysis: C’mon. Come ONNNNN. This should be an obvious pick. Leading in all relevant stats except FF’s, Hall of Famer Immanuel Blackstone is getting the nod here. That said, it is important to note, that if Rapid Eagle continued for 3 more seasons, they might be able to get close, or even overtake Blackstone in Tackles and Sacks if they defied regression a bit. No chance they’re getting close to Blackstone TFL’s though. So Rapid Eagle is very good, but not quite on the same level as Blackstone, and a large part of that is the 3 season difference. By the way, that little asterisk by Blackstone’s name, that’s the HOF indicator. Make note of that, because we’ll probably be seeing that again very soon.
Verdict: IMMANUEL BLACKSTONE

josh30601 - Sardine Bean - 278 TPE - 83 Tackles, 4 TFLs, 6 Sacks, 0 FFs (4 Seasons)
RilesMcGiles - Riles McTackle - 258 TPE - 138 Tackles, 8 TFLs, 7 Sacks, 0 FFs (5 seasons)
Analysis: I think Rotticus Scott wound up playing a bit at another defensive position as well, since they’re the only DT to have a significant amount of Pass Deflections. So it’s worth noting that his stats also contain the 4(?) seasons involved at that position, and it may skew the data a bit. Leon McDavid was also another player that shared some time at another position, which appears to be Wide Receiver. So while McDavid has a lot of TPE, they only spent 4 seasons at DT. Smirh, Bean and McTackle are all the first ones to cut here. Bean and McTackle just don’t have good enough stats, and when you double McDavid’s stats to compare to Smirh’s 8 seasons versus McDavid’s 4, McDavid’s stats are far and away better. After that though, it becomes a lot tougher. The top 4 in this class are all pretty close in my eyes. If you triple McDavid’s stats in their 4 seasons to give an accurate representation of how McDavid would do in 12 seasons, they would still have less tackles than Miller or Allen, would have 7 less TFL’s than Allen, but one more than Miller, would have several more sacks than Allen, and a bit more than Miller, but would have 10 more Forced Fumbles than EITHER of them. But again, this comes back to the known vs. the unknown, and I feel I have to eliminate McDavid from consideration next. For the same reason, I think Scott has to be out too, leaving only Miller and Allen. And while Allen has more tackles and TFLs than Scott, in one more season, the 71 sacks number just keeps standing out for me, and screams to me that Miller was a fantastic player off the snap, and he gets the nod for this battle. Though if you’re running a 4-3 defense with 2 DTs, you can’t go wrong with adding Allen here.
Verdict: PETE “PLOP” MILLER

LINEBACKER
HENDRIX 2.0 - Douglas Quaid* - 1467 TPE - 1,392 Tackles, 47 TFLs, 86 Sacks, 142 PD, 11 INT, 18 FFs (13 Seasons)
frithjofr - Ugarth the Dissector - 481 TPE - 383 Tackles, 12 TFLs, 36 Sacks, 54 PD, 2 INT, 6 FFs (6 seasons)
SemiCharmedMike - Holden Summers - 403 TPE - 345 Tackles, 8 TFLs, 23 Sacks, 46 PD, 1 INT, 5 FFs (6 seasons)
Analysis: With the exception of the INT category, Ugarth the Dissector is just objectively better than Holden Summers. But come on. Were either of them getting anywhere CLOSE to Hall of Famer Douglas Quaid? You can TRIPLE Ugarth’s Tackles, TFLs, INTs, and FFs, and the only one that even comes close to Quaid’s numbers is the FFs, which ties it. Sacks and PDs do surpass Quaid’s, but if you need to triple your stats to get a better line of stats than the other guy, when you’ve only played half the seasons, you’ve already lost the argument.
Verdict: DOUGLAS QUAID

CORNERBACK:
HalfEatenOnionBagel - Osiris Firestorm-Fjord - 1195 TPE - 637 Tackles, 168 PD, 20 INT, 10 FFs (9 seasons)
Vorshayla - HeHateMe PickSix - 746 TPE - 275 Tackles, 80 PD, 6 INT, 3 FFs (5 seasons)
Pieanator - Atlas Quin - 484 TPE - 527 Tackles, 61 PD, 9 INT, 4 FFs (5 seasons)
Analysis: This one’s pretty clear that it has to be Osiris Firestorm-Fjord. If we double the stats of Atlas Quin to get a guess of how they’d do in 10 seasons, they still would have less PD, INT, and FF than Osiris, who played 9 seasons only. Same thing goes for PickSix, but include Tackles in that as well. Quin’s amount of tackles are exceedingly impressive for their TPE, and for the limited seasons they played, though, Like, CRAZY impressive. If they played two more seasons, they probably would reach Osiris’s tackle count in two less seasons. Buuuuut, the PD/INT/FF count is far more impressive for Osiris.
Verdict: OSIRIS FIRESTORM-FJORD

SAFETY:
jeffie43 - Prince Vegeta - 1430 TPE - 634 tackles, 38 Sacks, 68 PDs, 26 INT, 7 FF (9 seasons)
KanakoTheSquirrel - Gregor Macgregor - 756 TPE - 405 Tackles, 29 Sacks, 16 PDs, 8 INT, 7 FF (6 seasons)
Analysis: Not exactly sure what happened in Prince Vegeta’s tenth season, but it was certainly an anomaly, with only 1 tackle, and 0 of anything else. Guessing maybe they got benched or retired early, so I left out their final season. That said, this one isn’t actually all that close. Tacklse and Sacks may say it is, but the PDs and INT say that Vegeta was just better than MacGregor. The only argument for Gregor is that they played less seasons, and were still on pace for 600 tackles (close to Vegeta’s total), and around 45 Sacks (more than Vegeta’s 38). But in this case, we don’t know that Gregor would actually reach those numbers, while Prince Vegeta did.
Verdict: PRINCE (OF ALL SAIYANS) VEGETA

KICKER/PUNTER:
iseedoug - Dougie Smalls - 915 TPE - 96.380% XPPCT, 89.720% FGPct, 46.804 P Avg (11 seasons)
DGarrett32 - J.J. “Jay” Jay-Jaymison - 446 TPE - 95.562% XPPct, 92.140% FGPct, 46.932 P Avg (8 seasons)
lewislewes - Lefty Louis - 232 TPE - 93.333% XPPct, 88.764% FGPct, 46.108 P Avg (4 seasons)
Analysis: While I admittedly don’t know much about kicking/punting stats, and how kickers/punters in this league are used, yet, it appears that these players are used interchangeably, with each of them having kicking and punting stats in the same seasons. And I opted to focus on the percentages for both the Extra Point and Field Goal, and the average punting distance. And let’s be honest, this is a two-horse race between Dougie and J.J. Lefty has the lowest stats in each of these three categories among the candidates. But between Dougie and J.J. it’s a bit harder. Because both Punt Average and Extra Point percentage are both within 1 yard and 1 percent of each other. FGPct is a bit more distinct though, with J.J. having the edge by about 1.4%. So while I can see the argument for either, I’m giving it to J.J. here.
Verdict: J.J. “JAY” JAY-JAYMISON

Final Team:
QB: George O’Donnell
HB: Chizuru Ichinose
WR: Ed Barker
TE: James Lewandowski
OL: Simon Tremblay
DE: Immanuel Blackstone
DT: Pete “Plop” Miller
LB: Douglas Quaid
CB: Osiris Firestorm-Fjord
S: Prince Vegeta
K/P: J.J. “Jay” Jay-Jaymison
Ordinarily, this would be where I would determine how much a team like this would cost to put together. But since all of these players are probably retired by this point, I’ll be using the Max TPE that each player hit. With the exception of Tremblay (4m) and Jay-Jaymison (2m), all remaining players were above 1000 TPE, and therefore are at 5m for each position for a whopping 51m total. And this is with JUST one player per position, meaning you’d have to find 29m worth of players to fill out the rest of the roster if you wanted to put all of these players in their prime on the field together. And with generally around 22-23 players on a roster, you’re looking at half, or a bit under half of the roster taking up a bit over ⅝ of your budget. Not exactly ideal.
But what do you think? If you’ve read to this point, do you think I made a mistake at any position? What would your All-S21 Draft Class Team look like? Do you think Jay Palmer should have gotten the start over Immanuel Blackstone? (joking on that last one!) Please let me know! Or at least give a comment saying “Hi” if you made it this far, because I love knowing that there are people out there willing to give my media a read. Thank you for reading this far and I hope you enjoyed! Maybe I’ll do this again next season if my job applications get rejected again!

WIDE RECEIVER:
Wombat - Ed Barker - 1252 TPE - 734 Receptions, 11,730 Receiving Yards, 15.981 Receiving Average, 73 Receiving TD’s (9 seasons)
juniped - Flash Panda - 1015 TPE - 474 Receptions, 6,787 Receiving Yards, 14.319 Receiving Average, 42 Receiving TD’s (9 seasons)
Voltaqe - Chris Kross - 517 TPE - 192 Receptions, 2,786 Receiving Yards, 14.510 Receiving Average, 14 Receiving TD’s (5 seasons)
RedArrow12c - Red Arrow - 444 TPE - 73 Receptions, 1,086 Receiving Yards, 14.877 Receiving Average, 5 Receiving TD’s (3 seasons)
Raheem James - Raheem Okusi - 365 TPE - 49 Receptions, 698 Receiving Yards, 14.245 Receiving Average, 2 Receiving TD’s (1 season)
Get_Right - Jerome Davis - 287 TPE - 57 Receptions, 687 Receiving Yards, 12.053 Receiving Average, 4 Receiving TD’s (2 seasons)
YoungTB - Justice Green - 62 TPE - 3 Receptions, 49 Receiving Yards, 16.333 Receiving Average, 0 Receiving TD’s (1 season)
Analysis: This one’s fairly clear. Green, Davis, Okusi, Arrow and Kross just don’t have the stats to match up with Barker and Panda, and while both of those two have 9 seasons under their belt, Ed Barker’s stats are just objectively better. Panda’s Receiving Yards, TDs, and Receptions are all just over half of Barker’s, despite them playing in the same number of seasons.
Verdict: ED BARKER

DEFENSIVE TACKLE
BRNXB0MBERS - Pete "Plop" Miller - 1418 TPE - 614 Tackles, 29 TFLs, 71 Sacks, 8 FFs (12 Seasons)
MN_Moosey - Leon McDavid - 1415 TPE - 190 Tackles, 10 TFLs, 30 Sacks, 6 FFs (4 Seasons)
KoltClassic - Otis Allen - 1393 TPE - 627 Tackles, 35 TFLs, 37 Sacks, 8 FFs (13 Seasons)
RotticusScott - Rotticus Scott - 1296 TPE - 506 Tackles, 20 TFLs, 20 Sacks, 6 FFs (9 Seasons)
Muford - John "Tripod" Smirh - 1030 TPE - 300 Tackles, 19 TFLs, 34 Sacks, 6 FFs (8 Seasons)
josh30601 - Sardine Bean - 278 TPE - 83 Tackles, 4 TFLs, 6 Sacks, 0 FFs (4 Seasons)

------------------------------------------------------------
