Prompt 9 (300 word, Tier 2)
Every year a new Ultimus Champion is crowned and almost every year you can take a look back and pinpoint one of the exact reasons, or most impactful reasons, as to why the team won the Ultimus that season. In this case for Season 43 the Baltimore Hawks cruised through the regular season before eventually cruising through the playoffs on their way to end a long drought of not winning an Ultimus. Let's not be mistaken here, the Baltimore Hawks have a very talented roster, and have had a talented roster for a lot of seasons now. However it has been a long season since they last won and what could be their downfall year after year, season after season? Well it certainly isn't the players on the team, they are mostly ranked at the elite level across the league, it's not the management as they are some of the most dedicated members in the league, and it's not the fans as they show and are a raucous crowd causing havoc for opposing offenses every single home game. So what is the downfall you are still wondering? The answer is simple, they never had Rise of Smitty as a member of their franchise. It is not a secret that every franchise Smitty winds up on instantly has their curse broken and an Ultimius, or Ultimini, is won. The Hawks made the best decision they could have ever made by drafting Rise of Smitty in the Season 43 rookie draft and to nobodies surprise they won the Ultimus immediately after that decision after years and years of disappointment and coming up short. The single greatest move they could have made, they made it, and it paid immediate dividends. If you want further proof of that, in the same season, the Portland Pythons ended their horribly long Ultimini drought and won after claiming Smitty off waivers. It is not secret, it is not joke, it is all real - Smitty brings championships. Kudos to the Hawks for recognizing that and wanting to give all their players the gift of a ring by selecting Smitty to ensure that happened and it will happen many more times now that he has been officially called up.

Prompt 11 (300 word, Tier 2)
The Rise of Smitty agency had a highly successful and decorated receiver that graced the ranks of the ISFL previously before. However the agency did not represent another talent for many seasons later until they latched on with Sam Mercury an aspiring football player looking to get back in the game and join the professional ranks. He would join the ISFL and get claimed off waivers by the Portland Pythons in the DSFL for his first season in his return to football. Mercury came back looking to play linebacker and he was rather successful in 10 games for the Pythons average just over 5 tackles per game and creating multiple turnovers in his first taste of professional football. After that season he would be drafted in the Season 43 Rookie Draft by the Baltimore Hawks after they traded up to get him. With that decision came another decision that Mercury would focus his training on wide receiver and he made the official switch before the Season 43 season got underway. With this decision Mercury would become the primary receiving option for the Portland Pythons where he would lead the team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns as well as helping Jay Cue III win the DSFL Most Outstanding Player Award. The Pythons offense as a whole spread the wealth more than any other team but Mercury came through when it was really needed. He would finish with 64 catches, 835 yards, and a league leading 11 touchdown receptions. Along with his growth at the receiver position he would help lead the Pythons to the Ultimini Championship. In that Ultimini Championship game against the Tijuana Luchadores it would be a blowout where Mercury did his part early in the game with a 32 yard touchdown but he would mostly coast the rest of the way. He would go on to only have 2 catches for 43 yards and that long score that started the rally for the Pythons. After a successful DSFL career at two totally opposite positions, Mercury would get called up the Baltimore Hawks where he will make his debut for his rookie season in season 44.
