Tier 2 -5 TPE (300 words)
8. This task is exclusive to non-recreate rookies of the S43 class and later. In 300 words or more, how has your experience been in the league? Who have you met that has made your time here more fun, friendly, and exciting? Have you been satisfied with your player’s early start? What was it like being drafted for the first time? Do you have any comments or suggestions for the entire league that you think should be implemented?
My experience has been great so far! I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would honestly! I came in with a bit of a head start since I’d just been a bystander in Tmoney’s first DSFL season. For the past few months I have had constant updates on how much fun he was having, what he was going to do differently with his player attributes, how it felt going 3rd overall in the DSFL draft, and then 1st overall in the ISFL draft. Having very recently experienced all of this for himself, he’s been super helpful in guiding me through everything. But he hasn’t been the only one! The scouting was some of the most fun I’ve had in a while, and really hooked me in. The recruiters asked engaging questions, and helped a rather shy, anxious introvert feel immediately comfortable and like she had a place here in the league. I have to give major shout-outs to Triceracop, Lt.Hudz, and Swoosh in particular. Triceracop was one of the first to ask to not assume I’d want to be on a team with my husband -TBTTP, (The bastardly traitor Thomas Passarelli), and has been fully supportive of my competitive spirit in that sense. Lt. Hudz, who both made sure I was prepared for the zombie apocalypse, and reminded me of the finer things in life like ooey gooey butter cake. Finally, Swoosh who again, confirmed introverts have a place in the league (even the scary main discord channels).
My player was barely in the prospect bowls, so there is not much of an early start to talk about, but I am super excited by my draft results. I was not expecting to go fourth, and even more, was not expecting to go to Bondi my preferred team! I don’t have any comments so far for the league. I’m still trying to wrap my head around some of the more detailed parts about all of this, but overall I wouldn’t change anything about my experience thus far.

13. Choose a team or player to write about that isn’t your own. What did they do well in the last season? Have they shown any drastic improvements from previous years? What could they do better?
Thomas Passarelli had a standout rookie season, evidenced by being the first overall pick in the recent ISFL draft to the New Orleans Second Line! What made Passarelli so impressive in his role as tight end on the Bondi Beach Buccaneers was just how many yards he was able to rack up. Over the season, he earned 693 yards (2nd most of TE in the DSFL), with an average 13.59 yards per reception, and 8.45 yards per target (the highest out of DSFL TEs). Finally, Passarelli was tied for the most overall receptions for a first down, with 29 (56.86% RecFD%).
As this was his rookie season, it’s hard to say what kind of improvement we can expect to see out of Passarelli from year to year. Will the sophomore slump hit him big? Will playing in the major leagues make this big fish feel like a tiny fish in a very large ocean? Only time will tell, but if Passarelli wants to make a good impression here is how he can improve going forward.
First, he should focus first and foremost on playing a more disciplined, intelligent game. He needs to stop committing so many penalties compared to his peers. Passarelli had the third most penalties (6), and third most penalty yards (54 yards). Another area of improvement could be in reducing his number of dropped passes (10 dropped passes). With these changes implemented, I reckon we will only see Passarelli’s career continue to shine in the coming years, especially now that Passarelli is on the Second Line. In this new role, he is in a place where he can really grow with the team. The Second Line finished last in the league last season, which conversely means that they can only go up from here. I think playing and growing with a young hungry team will only bring out the best in this player.
