After watching the recent Toy Story, “Andy’s bedroom” inspired Sunday morning football broadcast of the Jaguars Falcons game, I’m convinced this is the only good and proper way to explain football to the masses, extraterrestrials included.
Knowing that we have the technology/ capabilities to stream animated football games like this, I would continue with this format for our videos, but I would take it a step farther and make it a series utilizing all Disney themed space and alien involved movies. We could have a Lightyear inspired broadcast from the LASER-SHIELD-DOME. A junkyard showdown with Wall-e characters, or a Hawaiian luau sand-filled game with Lilo and Stitch. We keep all of the teaching moments, and football trivia commercial breaks, but make it relatable (hopefully).
My main take-aways for the aliens would be that football is 1) inclusive of many different aliens (hopefully as evidenced by the variety of alien movie examples), 2) a game first and foremost, which means fun!, and 3) a way we (earthlings) bring communities together.
