Ultimus XLV: Buenos Aires, Argentina
To culminate S45, let us bring the league a whole new audience: Buenos Aires, Argentina! The 16th largest city in the world, Buenos Aires, which has 15,490,000 people who would love to host the ISFL. With nearly double the population of New York City and a stadium larger than the biggest NFL stadium (MetLife Stadium; 82,500), Buenos Aires would love to see Ultimus XLV played at Estadio Monumental that could hold 84,567 people. As an added benefit to the amazing venue and wonderful people, the stadium would provide delicious delicacies native to Argentina.
Choripan: At first glance, choripán resembles a hotdog. And just like a classic hotdog in American stadiums, you’ll find this sausage sandwich at virtually any sporting event in Argentina. Choripán is a combination of the words chorizo (sausage) and pan (bread). The sandwich is served on a French baguette cut into roughly six inch sections, then lengthwise like a hotdog bun.
Fugazzeta: If you like pizza, the you will love this Argentinian dish! Fugazzeta has copious amounts of cheese between two layers of dough, with caramelized sliced onions on top.
Empanadas: On one hand, a tasty empanada! In the other, an ice cold beer. What a scrumptious way to celebrate the Ultimus!
Alfajores: For the children (and sweet-toothed people) attending the game, these melt-in-your mouth alfajores are a South American sandwich cookie made from two shortbread cookies and a creamy dulce de leche center and other possible fillings too!
So please join us this January for Ultimus XLV in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the weather will be around a perfect 76F/24C!
