As an O-Lineman, especially on a team outside the US, Justin Willis doesn't have the most fame and influence compared to other players on the team. So he was pretty surprised when he was approached to do a holiday album. And not just any holiday album, but one for the holiday of his choosing. So he recruited the best singers on the team as well as some friends from the industry and released The Haunting of Cape Town, a multi-genre concept album telling the story of a family being terrorized by the spectre of a murdered football player. Willis' musical tastes are extremely varied, so the tracks run the gamut of genres. The opening track "The Haunting" is a dark and haunting synthwave track reminiscent of 80s sci-fi, while mid-album banger "4th and Infinity" is a 3-minute metalcore anthem. The album closes with a 13 minute rock opera titled "The Final End Zone" that incorporates aspects of Hip-Hop, Bluegrass, and Drum 'n Bass as well as classical rock opera aesthetics.
The album was an absolute flop.
