"Tier 2: Short Form Tasks (Each must be 300+ words)
Choose up to TWO for 5 TPE each."
10. If I randomly won a lottery to be the commissioner of the league I would make one season a full ISFL Street Vol. 2 season. One of my favorite games of all time, NFL Street Vol. 2, is where games are played on a 7v7 scale. Each team is position-less and every single "normal" position has its strength and weaknesses. While a QB may be the most important position in the game for normal football, in Street the QB may end up being one of the worst players possible on a team. In order to prevent a giant re-draft from occuring, as this is merely a 1-season fun event, the "normal" teams would simply split up into 3 smaller teams, each having 10 players (7 starters + 3 backups). This would cause the league to go from 22 teams to 66 teams, which in this dream universe I'm *not* in charge of scheduling. A touchdown is a normal 6 points. However, going for an extra point is worth 1 point if running, 2 points if passing. Since we do have kickers in this league, I'll allow kicking a 50 yard FG extra point to be worth 3 points since the difficulty is harder. The league will be split into 3 pods of 22 teams. After each team plays 6 games against random teams in their pool, the top 5 from each will go onto the finals. The best remaining wild-card team based on record and point differential will also make it to the final 16. From there, the top 16 will face off in a single-elimination bracket pool. For every playoff game win, team members will receive an additional bonus 5 TPE. On top of that, the winning team in a playoff match has the option to "rent" one of the losing team players for the remaining playoff matches. However in doing so, every player has to agree to give up their 5 TPE bonus winnings in order to pay the "bank" to sign the player. The winning team of the Street Season will be written into the record books, while all the other teams will wish they managed this feat. In order to keep it fresh, this Street Season will only occur every 10 seasons so newer players have something to look forward to, while older vets will try to extract revenge over the years.
14. If I were to create an expansion it'd be two teams in the ISFL. The New Mexico Rookies and the New Haven Freshmen. Each team would be composed only of rookies. Of course in this crazy universe the DSFL *still* exists, it's just that players are on two-way contracts. Their season would technically *not* count for rookie statistics unless they hit one of the playoff requirements below:
If one of the rookie-only teams manages to make the playoffs, they have the option of remaining a team in the future while counting their rookie expansion year as their first ISFL year for the record keeping books. However, if a team doesn't make the playoffs, players can enter the ISFL draft the following season as normal and pretend that year was just for fun. It'd be an interesting way to get players super involved early on, while allowing the role of spoiler to occur.
Now should both teams make the playoffs, instead of joining the bracket as normal, they would instead go into a rookie-ultibowl. The winning team will remain a full-fledged team the following season. Additionally for winning, they will receive the opportunity to "draft" 2 of the opposing team to their team the following season. Those 2 players would skip the ISFL draft and would count as round 1 picks for HoF record keeping purposes. The rest of the opposing players would go to the ISFL draft as normal.
If neither of the rookie teams make the playoffs it would be as if nothing happened. ISFL draft would occur where the rookies that are drafted join their new teams. However, the rookies that are not drafted would instead be put into the DSFL again and unable to join New Mexico or New Haven.
What happens to New Mexico and New Haven each season? They are replenished with the new incoming true rookies that are wanting a shot to prove themselves. Why would the commish ever agree to this expansion? For the memes. But more importantly it'd be a fun way to show some new rookies how hard the league really is and how important gaining TPE and working your way up is.
