14. As far as I understand it, the league is doing alright but isnt in a place to be expanding. In fact contraction was the more probable next step up until recently but expansion is always fun so we’re going to talk about it anyway. Expansion needs 2 teams to equalise the conferences and be able to create 4 team divisions so we’ll be doing 2. Assuming that the ever favourite Moon Knights won't be joining the league anytime soon, we’ll come back down to earth with 2 teams from Canada.
Canadian representation in the league is low. While the best team in the league, the Yellowknife Wraiths, are based in Canada, they are a long way away from the main population and representing the North West territories doesn’t necessarily feel the closest to Canadian hearts. For one of the closest countries to America and one of the only countries with their own football league, this feels under represented to have the same amount of teams as other nations around the world with much less affiliation to the sport. Therefore I am proposing the introduction of the Vancouver Vanguard and the Thunder Bay Lightning.
The Vanguard would be representing British Columbia and would be viking themed. Did the Vikings have a vanguard in their conquests? I don't know, but it's a timeless theme and one we are sorely missing in the league. The brown and grey of a Viking Axe would be the colour theme with great potential for runic colour rush themes.
Thunder Bay lightning are the representatives of Ontario and there’s no thunder without the lightning. As much as the cheesy name suggests, the yellow in the uni's would potentially end up clashing with the yellow in Baltimore, Honolulu, Berlin and Colorado, so the main colour would be the black from the dark clouds.
27. LB nearly wasnt available to me in the current draft class. Going into the tracker as I went to create, I saw 10 other LBs already in the class of 60 people. However one of the biggest benefits of LB for my current player is the flexibility to position switch, nearly everything is available to a LB as a lower tier swap, with only a couple of T3 swaps in there. That means that while I intended to stay at LB, I can switch to whatever we need so the similar position to that as an alternative would be TE. TE does a bit of everything with pancakes and catches, and would allow me to be a relevant fantasy option again but as I would like to be on the defensive side of the ball once again, the position I would have chosen is safety. When I played in High school, my coaches nicknamed me speed hawk because of my nose for the ball. That also happens to be my name so it made for a weird nickname but you get the idea.
32. Speed Hawk would most certainly be up for making his own podcast called: Speed Hawks Speed Talks. It would be short 8-10 minute interviews with players from around the league and the wider sporting community that really hit home on the real questions that people want to ask these big sporting names. The quick format of it would mainly be for the name rhyming but would allow players to quickly come in and make a bit of a name for themselves while not taking too much time out of their training routines. This could also branch off into some spinoff podcasts like Speed Hawks Speed Walks, which would be a similar format but on a nice countryside walk for the youtube audience to travel along with the guests, and Speed Hawks Speed Corks, an after dark wine drinking podcasts where the dark truths and secrets of the league get revealed. These podcasts would create a future career for Speed Hawk after his upcoming HoF career and also allow players who have been and gone in the ISFL a chance to reconnect with the league and find out what they’ve been up to.
