10. Through a random lottery drawing, you have been named the league's new commissioner for a day. Congrats! What improvements would you make to the league if you had the power to do whatever you wanted?
“This year’s commissioner for a day is… Miller Light!” With an eye toward the future and improving the ISFL/DSFL for years to come, Light takes full advantage as commissioner to make some often overlooked but necessary changes to the league. First and foremost, Miller establishes the CSFL, Champions Simulation Football League as the new top tier of the league. All ISFL teams move up to CSFL, DSFL teams move to ISFL, and 8 new teams are created in the new DSFL. Under this new structure, Light adds an additional period of development for incoming players into the league. Along with this, Light sets up a relegation system. The top two teams from the DSFL will swap with the bottom two teams of the ISFL, and the top two teams from the ISFL will swap with the bottom two teams of the CSFL. No longer do we have the divide between teams that existed before, but now all teams are competing to be the best! A drastic change, sure, but Light’s main focus is competition, viewership, and expanding the league to the point of realizing its true potential. Along with his lofty goals, he also has a few more reasonable actions. First, he puts in place a pro bowl between both divisions. The MVP of each team gets to draft players from their division to make a starting roster. The winning division gets a 500k salary bonus and the title of pro bowl champions! Lastly, Light arranges for league wide NFL fantasy football competitions where the winner receives eternal glory and 1 mil in league money! Competition exists at the core of the ISFL, and Light’s changes will last a lifetime, invigorate the fan base, and bring forth a new era in the ISFL, or should I say, CSFL! And all it took was one day.
11. Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league.
Miller Light learned the game of football from his uncle Busch Light, former linebacker for the New Orleans Second Line. With a 24 year age gap between the two, Miller Light always looked up to Busch, the superior Light. Busch was Miller’s coach throughout high school. It was his attention to the fundamentals that helped Miller develop into the player he is today. During Miller’s junior year, they were in the state championship. It was not looking good at halftime, Miller’s team was down fourteen to three. Miller was playing both sides of the ball at the time, safety and wide receiver. On the offensive side of the ball, the opponent was getting relentless pressure on the quarterback, allowing minimal time to get the pass off. On defense, Miller’s team was doing what they could, but an all-state running back was making easy work of their defensive line. During half time they tightened up their strategy. Attack through the air and do not allow anything on the ground. The third quarter was tight with a lot of turnovers and miscues on both teams. It seemed to work, with the final score being 24-14, Miller’s team. Miller finished the game with a touchdown pass, 134 yards receiving, 1 interception, and 3 pass deflections. Miller has always used that game for inspiration, throughout college, the DSFL, and today in the ISFL. Miller is looking forward to experiencing the ISFL with this memory fueling him, hoping to make his uncle Busch proud. Along with Busch’s guidance, Miller uses Busch as a measuring stick for his own performance. As he moves into the ISFL, he hopes to shatter all of Busch’s achievements and then some. Even though he misses the offensive side of the ball, he wants to be a defensive most valuable player.
