I spoke about this in more depth already in episode two of the ISFL shutdown podcast hosted by myself and Walter Yensid (shameless plug) - I think the Norfolk Seawolves absolutely nailed this draft.
On the defensive side of the ball the Seawolves refreshed nearly every level. Starting in the secondary, they drafted myself 1oa. Nothing but good things to say about myself, I'm here to stay and plan to chase the TPE cap as aggressively as possible. They went back to CB a few picks later, grabbing my now partner Lloyd. Lloyd is a quieter personality but has huge upside if he stays active, and the two of us look like we were picked to compliment one another and bolster both sides of the backfield. Surprising to some, we went secondary AGAIN in the late rounds, grabbing Jeffrey Jefferson. He hasn't been as active as the others, which makes sense with his pick position, but if he can stay engaged with the league he could be a potential multi season starter for Norfolk. Another unnoticed change was the position swap of our top DE Nunkanblok to CB, giving us a capped physical corner to start the season. This is all reinforced by our two high TPE safeties, completing what seems to be the deepest and finest built secondary in the DSFL - which looks to have capped players at nearly every position by the end of this season.
They also picked up South West, a LB with a waterboy esque backstory. Despite being a mid round pick, he's already been very active on our discord and looks to push himself into a more impactful tpe range as soon as possible.
On the offensive side of the ball, Norfolk rejuvenated their passing offense with future stud TE Gadget, and also got who appears to be the biggest steal of the draft - JJ What?. JJ definitely seemed abrasive at first, but very quickly mellowed out and is now approaching the current maximum potential TPE that he could get at this point in the season.
Couple this exciting new receiving corp with a reinforced run game, picking up user Jack Mancuso as a late round RB. Norfolk already has a meaty FB and the fastest RB in the league behind him, with Mancuso looking to add some depth to the offensive backfield and offer himself a change of pace type back.
Overall, I think Norfolk picked up key players at key positions on both sides of the ball. The only test will be our activity, but currently morale is high and we're all excited to prove a lot of people wrong this year.
