With all due respect to the other Outlaw callups, I think the most significant addition to the roster is Bertie Mannering Phipps.
A free agent signing from the Baltimore Hawks, Mannering Phipps is the second running back option that the Outlaws have needed since the position swap of Sherwin Blue, Jr, and he is the heir to Outlaws' incumbent lead rusher, Danny Nedelko, who can be politely referred to at this point as "not getting any younger".
The player that will almost certainly become known league-wide as BMP has already shown a knack for finding the end zone, scoring 4 touchdowns in the maroon and gold in just 4 games so far. Sources say that he is a positive and likeable member of the locker room, and even the grumpy and combative Nedelko is happy with him as a teammate.
BMP should be the next great running back in the desert, and I am looking forward to watching it unfold.
