Written option: Every team approaches the new season with new faces. How do you think your team's additions over the offseason, whether in free agency or the draft, will contribute to the team? Who do you believe will stand out from the crowd and why?
The Baltimore Hawks only had 4 new additions in a relatively quiet offseason. And while one may hope for a home run signing, ultimately it wasn’t to be for this season as we settled on some depth pieces. We had 2 Free agency signings in Tatum Washington III and Bong Stevens, a RB and TE/FB respectively. And we also had 2 call ups in LB Joe Bazooka and Slot WR Diego López de Castilla. As Anakin Skywalker is expected to make a charge to be one of the best RBs in the league, neither of our two signings will ultimately end up dethroning him in the stat sheet. DLdC comes in to fill a gap left at WR3 by Sam Mercury, but due to his position as Slot Receiver and it being his rookie season in the ISFL after character concerns in the DSFL, he likely will be nowhere near the conversation for OROTY. And Joe Bazooka comes to fill a role in the ever important LB position while already being a fairly developed prospect. It is tough to see either of the team’s signings making too big a splash, given that one will be a clear RB2 for the season and the other is IA and already in two positions which do not see many numbers in the stat sheet. DLdC will fill a neat role as WR3, providing much needed depth, but this won’t be the season he breaks out. But Joe Bazooka immediately slots into a very important position of the defense, so it really is hard to make a case for anyone but him having the most impact of this season’s signings
