The moment that determined everything for Tim Riggins was after his senior year of High School when he had to decide between being an auror for the Ministry of Magic or continue playing football at Hogwarts University. The family pressure was immense at this time as his father, his grandfather and 5 other generations of Riggins worked as aurors. His father specifically had very strong feelings about him playing a "muggle" sport and said it was beneath him even though the Hogwarts Football program had become immensely successful. As a wizarding family, muggle culture was always foreign to Riggins.
If he had chosen this path things would have looked much differently. For starters, Tim was one of the best duelers in his Hogwarts class, so he would have defended against the dark arts with pride. He was also quite crafty with protection spells specifically, so he would have made for a great tank build on an auror's squad. Lastly, Tim is one of the most courageous and gritty wizards that ever walked the halls of Hogwarts, which would have made him a fierce defender of the innocent. Fortunately, Tim decided to applies those traits to something more beneficial to society like playing for a development league football team.
