When I created Anakin Skywalker, he was initially a wide receiver. I had made my previous player a wide receiver before switching to defense. When Anakin was drafted by the Hawks, a mutual decision was made to switch him to running back. The Hawks were set at receiver so Skywalker would have been fighting for scraps near the bottom of the depth chart. The decision to switch paid off immediately in the DSFL, as Anakin made three straight pro bowls and led the league in rushing yards in his last season. Had he remained a wide receiver, he may have stayed at least one more season in the DSFL, only to still be third or lower on the depth chart. With Preston Beatz several years into regression, Skywalker has been able to balance the offense and take the pressure off of the aging QB and receivers. I think if Anakin didn’t switch, the team wouldn’t be able to make a smooth of a transition after Beatz retires.
