Cape Town started off this season pretty slow- a snail's pace indeed, losing three out of the first four of their games. Then we wont three. Lost two. Won three. The jerky win loss momentum has luckily kept us in playoff contention due to the parity the sim sometimes creates within divisions due to its capricious nature. At this point in the season Cape Town is unlikely to catch up to Baltimore, but keeping the second seed is very possible. Three of the four teams left to play are .500 or below, while Yellowknife, who challenges for the second seed, faces more teams with winning records, including divisional leader Berlin. In the last several seasons Cape Town has been buoyed by a defense that can make major stops. That impact has been lacking early season this year but has shown back up in the last few games. The offense is firing on all cylinders as well with all recent wins being by 20pts or more. This is just the kind of momentum an ultimus team needs going into the tail end of the season and playoffs.
