Written option: With the league's fiftieth season only around half a year away, reflect on your own history in the league. What memories and moments of your time in the ISFL are you most fond of? Tell the story and explain why it stands out. If you prefer, write about your player's most important memories instead.
Great question and which memory do I pick out? Having been a part of the league for almost 7 years at this point there are many moments that stand ouut. My favourite one and the one that always comes to mind when this question is asked is winning the Ultimus with the Baltimore Hawks all the way back in Season 10. The Baltimore locker room was full of amazing people like HENDRIX, 37th, DeWalt, Iamslm, Manic, ItsJustBarry, Nunc and many others, with a ton who of old heads who had been with the Hawks since the very first few seasons. We had previously gotten to the finals 3 other times, but lost out in all three of those. 2 against the Arizona Outlaws* and one against the New Orleans Second Line. Who in the S10 final we would meet once again. So this game was also a bit of a revenge game.
NOLA would record an early 10-0 lead in the first, before Carter Bush scored a touchdown 3 minutes before the first break to pull the Hawks back. Carlito Crush then scored very early on in the 2nd for NOLA to reclaim a two score lead 17-7 then the Turk show started, in the second quarter he would succesfully kick three field goals from within the 20-29 yard range to bring the game back to a more manageable 17-16, before kicking the Hawks to a lead in the third with a 40 yard screamer. Alexandre LeClair (a Hawk snake) then scored another touchdown for the Second Line which saw them retake the lead 23-19. Just two minute later Trey Willie would reclaim the lead for the Hawks with a touch down. Heading into the final quarter the game was sitting at a 23-26 scoreline for the Hawks. Early doors Turk would succesfully kick his 5th Field Goal of the game to make it 23-29. Which ended up being the final score line and securing the Hawks their first Ultimus in team history.
It's a lovely tale of a band of great users who had been to the cup multiple times, but then fell short, for them to finally win a cup with their team was amazing. Also the fact Turkleton with 15 points was decisive of the final score line is a great feeling.
