I’ve been privileged to have had a shot at the ultimate prize, the Ultimus, for both of my players. What I want to talk about here is the 2nd out of 3 games in the Ultimus and the play Joel Drake made that came 2 minutes away from winning Colorado the championship.
It had been a back-and-forth affair but Honolulu held the reigns late in the 4th quarter. With one scoring drive and already in possession of a 3 point lead it was likely the game would come down to Colorado’s ability to at least hold Honolulu to a field goal.
Drake didn’t let them get that far. With 5:30 left on the clock he took a pass from Joliet Christ Jr back for 20 yards and a touchdown to give Colorado their first lead since early in the 3rd. Had they held from there this play would have gone down in history. Unfortunately they allowed one final TD drive and lost the game.
