Season 47 is off to a fun start with parity all around. 10 of the 14 teams have at least 2 wins. The Chicago Butchers have played about as well as expected, currently sitting at a 3-2 record after 5 games. My player Dewey Greenbeans is playing fine, but there isn't much flash this season. 18 tackles through 5 games with 0 INTS or PDs is nothing to write home about. The good news is that Dewey is doing what a lot of the defense has done well this season: bent without breaking. The DBs are keeping the ball in front of them and holding the opposing offenses to a respectable 26.4 points per game. The Points For is exactly equal to the points against. The Butchers are 2nd in the league with 8 interceptions but lag behind in Sacks. If nothing changes, I see this season going about the same: .500 ball with average offense and defense. If the Butchers can dial up some successful blitzes, I foresee a slight bump in potential and maybe a repeat playoff appearance.
