Tier One: Question Two
600 Words
There are many perspectives that I can touch on with this question. This is my first experience in ISFL, so in turn this is my first ISFL Draft. I'm also coming over after a large number of VHL members came with the announcement of the Affiliation. Overall, this has been surprisingly a very positive experience. I'm really enjoying this first few weeks of the league, and the initial build-up for the draft has been really cool. I don't know whether it is that I'm in a draft where I'm pretty unknown, that is making things fun - because normally in the VHL I can tell I'm going 2nd Overall (inside joke? I've had five of my players go with the second pick). I love the fact that I could land anywhere, I think the fact that I'm such an unkown has made it so that so many different teams are reaching out to me. That side of the draft process is very interesting, and has actually made me really hyped up. I've had some great pre-draft interviews and conversations and I'm interested to see if I've made an impression for a team to take me earlier than my projected 3rd Round ranking.
One interesting storyline to follow is how my fellow VHL comrades are doing in the draft rankings. It seems like our beloved BOOM is a top prospect, and likely had created before the Affiliation announcement. I feel like he's in so many leagues, and he just kills it everywhere he goes. I think he will be the top VHLer selected as he is projected to go in the first round. In the second round, we just see tcookie as the only familiar name from the VHL, although I don't think VHL is their main league. Into the third is where you really see the affiliation bump come into play. Janser, AJ, rory, and myself. In the fourth we see some VHL known users that must have fell off after creating; dylan, leandro, and mclovin. Who knows, there could be some that I'm missing or when under a different alias. That's almost ten players that came over with the affiliation. I think BOOM will have the best player at the end of their career, but I think AJ will be the steal of the draft. I'm not sure how important kickers are, but I know first hand how good of a dude this guy is, and he's not gonna miss TPE. If a team drafts this guy in the third round, they are getting a stud of a member, and will likely be my VHL Steal of the Draft.
I think overall people will look back at this draft as a successful class. I think there are quite a few GM players in this draft, so that helps the cause. But it seems to be a pretty well balanced draft in terms of position selection. I can't wait for Friday to see how it all plays out, hoping there's a cool presentation for me to follow. I'm not too sure where I'll land, and I really don't have a desired destination. I had some really good talks with teams that seem like they'd be a good fit. I've been pretty honest with GM's in that this is truly a casual run for me. I'll stay active and present, but in no way will I be a max-earner. VHL will always be my primary league, however I'm really enjoying ISFL as a breath of fresh air in my sim league experience. I'm interested to see if in-sim stats make a difference in my draft position. After finishing the season off with a Ultimini Championship, Taylor's BF's Brother finished with 52 pancakes and no sacks allowed. He was the only OL man with over 50 pancakes and 0 sacks allowed.
