Task 19 2.5 TPE
A new stadium in Berlin? Great idea! Berlin has a striking color scheme of black and yellow for the salamander and red as background and salamander eye color. This needs to be played up as much as possible in the new stadium as it really pops. Each long side of the stadium will be painted in our brilliant red and in the middle of this sea of red will be painted a huge salamander on each side. That black and yellow will really jump out at folks as they enter the stadium and who knows – maybe there will be a bit of a wrangle over who gets to sit in one of the “eye” seats.
The end zone seats will be painted yellow with a huge “BERLIN” written in gleaming, glossy black letters. Of course we’ll also have a super large salamander logo at midfield with “BERLIN” and “FIRE SALAMANDER written in black outlined in yellow agains a read background.
Task 23 2.5 TPE
A critique of the sim engine? Holy cow! Where does one begin!? Let’s start with the fact that Tight Ends are completely hosed in this system. They can be integral parts of a real American football team’s success – just ask Kansas City or the Gronk-era Patriots – but it’s hard to make them viable in the sim. Got to fix that.
Next is the overemphasis on Speed. Especially in the DSFL, if your RB has max speed and you run a lot, you will set records and win games. Even if you build nothing else in the player’s profile. My RB held his own in his first year in the ISFL after only one season in the DSFL simply because he had speed and nothing else. I’d fix the speed vs. everything else dynamic for sure.
And then there is the sim as streamed. Ugh! Little dots don’t make me feel like I’m watching a football game – more like checkers. There are all kinds of funny glitches from time to time in the OOTP-run PBE sim, but it does feel like you are watching baseball. And I can see what’s going on in the PBE streams. I don’t usually bother with ISFL streams because unless you have a skill player running in open field, you can’t tell who’s doing what? A better, more graphically pleasing sim would go a long way.
Task 26 2.5 TPE
If American Dream were not a professional football player he might be a lawyer. Having grown up on the “wrong side of the tracks” in New Haven, Dream saw first hand how the disadvantaged often stay the disadvantaged because those in power like it that way. Greedy landlords enjoy huge profits at the expense of those with little voice. Unscrupulous bosses enjoy paying lower wages as unskilled workers scramble for the few jobs available to them. Corrupt politicians enjoy uncontested elections due to gerrymandering or reduced opposition due to voter suppression of marginalized communities.
Dream would choose to work as a lawyer on behalf of the people being ground into the dust by these unfair and often unlawful practices. As he has read the history of marginalized people Dream has come to the conclusion that though the law can be used to bind and oppress, it can also be used to fight back to free and sustain people.
