2. Tell us about your draft class. Is there anything that makes it special in comparison to other classes? Where did your fellow draftees land, how are they doing? Did anyone turn out to be an unexpected steal of that draft based on what you know today? Do you think anyone in your draft class will become a hall of famer? If you’re new to the league, how do you think your class will do? Where do you think people will get drafted to?
S50 class is going to be special just based on it being such a big anniversary for the entire league. We are going to have users come out of the woodworks just to be apart of history, so whilst the class might have more recreates then normal, it could also see a higher drop-off rate in active players. It will be interesting to see how that shapes up going into the ISFL draft, with a plethora of recreates means a lot of connections to teams, will they want to only go back to their old team? Or will they be completely open and see people going everywhere. Then the new users could always have the chance to stand out and claim one overall for themselves
For me personally, I go into the draft as the ISFL commissioner. I wonder if such a position, despite having two prior HoF players who are some of the bests to play in their positions, will affect my draft stock. HO is not always popular with their decisions and rulings, so that could be held against me. Same time, its hard to say a user who is the commissioner isn’t dedicated to the league, a history over 3 years of max earning and long careers, never going to FA, my player poses a really strong asset for a team.
With any draft class, the Quarterbacks are always the most interesting to look at. S50 has 6 quarterbacks, with 3 recreates and 3 newbies. The recreates are all well-known, high earning and active users within the league, so they are definitely people that a team can bank on. With no clue about their plans, its hard to say if they have setup destinations, will swap away, or are actually the future for a team. The three rookies will face extra pressure to stand out and prove themselves during their DSFL rookie season, show they can handle the expectations of earning and showing dedication to gain the trust of potential ISFL team suitors. One of the 3 rookies has only 2 posts, so is probably already going to be a pass, whilst the other two have been active and earning, and do show some good potential to be options at an ISFL level. That’s where the lack of spots for 5 QB’s come in, and will be interesting to see how that all shapes up.
Going back to my own player and circumstances, Linebacker follows a similar pattern and outlook of being stacked with recreates. Slate, Br0_0ker, Symmetrik, Beck, JayTheGreat, Noanic are all well liked and veteran users. Those 6 users, 7 when including myself, comprise of more then half of the Linebackers in the class, and being such a needed and valuable position, teams will have a gluttony of choice of where to go. I am playing the rare coverage LB arch, that could also affect draft stock going for the more unknown and unused, probably could be said its seen as weaker arch. Rookies again, can storm their way up the board with their fresh spirit and energy, and time will gives us an answer to how it shakes out compared to some big hitters.
S50 will also be a class that comes in when a major class, S41, is really starting to fall away. They will need to replace these names across all ISFL teams, and can be pretty important in starting the rebuilding of teams or ensuring their rebuild stays the course and backups a strong core. A team like Colorado will have important choices to support the start of their core that came from the S49 draft class. There is heaps of potential for uers to have stellar careers and early opportunity in the ISFL, so S50 could be a special class that has a special impact in the league.
