27. if your player wasn't a professional in the ISFL/DSFL, what would they be doing instead? (Written Task or Graphic Task)
If Gavin didn't choose to roll with the football life, he might have found himself becoming a private investigator. His ability to read plays before they happen and pull the trigger on those (for him) telegraphed throws with extreme prejudice could have priven useful in doing investigative work, like working for a detective agency or privateering and investigative journalist. The brain and the bravado would definetely be there for him. It would have been interesting to see if he would have been down with all the paperwork and research these jobs entail. I can imagine it's very tedious.
Another profession might have been something like a risk assesment type of job where he is tasked with looking for holes in a legal defense or potential negative consequences that may come out of a business decision. Again, his intuition and ability to see the big picture and act accordingly before shit hits the fan would put him on an excellent career trajectory down this business path.
28. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why? (Written Task)
I originally intended to create a Wide Receiver, because this is the most likely position that I would have played myself, if I chose to pursue that sport further than some probaratory training sessions. I have good hands and am pretty tall, which leads me to believe that I would have been a great posession receiver.
In the few trainings I had I was however also tested at Defensive Back, Corner Back and Safety to be precise. With those positions being very underrepresented unlike the very popular Wide Reveiver position, I opted to go this route instead.
Turns out it paid off as being the only Safety of this class did boost my value even further.
I also came to like the nature of playing on the defensive side of things. It's way more fun and also challenging to attack an opponent's gameplan, disrupting their carefully carved out strategies and throw a wrench into their engines. There is way more stuff to be a hero other than just "catch ball well". You can intercept, tackle, deflect, sack or just pressure offense players to do your job.
34. When looking at the teams we have in the ISFL and DSFL, is there any team you believe is in need of a major rebrand or update to their current branding? Why or why not? (Written Task)
Excellent question for continuing my media posts about branding!
I think for the DSFL Kansas should be a strong candidate for a rebrand. At least I think it is one of the weakest brands.
The logo and wolf stuff is very overused in all of sports and the colors don't make much sense in conjunction with the rest of the brand and frankly look horrible. Either settle for a moon colored wolf branding (midnight blue/moonlight white maybe) or rework all of it alltogether.
For the ISFL there is not a "terrible" brand, but I think the Baltimore Hawks could need a little glow-up. The logo looks too bland and interchangeable, looking too similar to NFL team logos.
Everytime I see it, I am reminded of the Cardinals, Ravens or Falcons.
Also the Crash could need some additional work on their rhino, making it pop more, maybe increase the depth by adding additional shadows.
