As some of his oldest fans may remember from previous media, Bass’ father was a famous pro-wrestler. If Bass hadn’t taken his visit to Knoxville in his senior year of high school, he very well could’ve been entertaining the millions…AND MILLIONS around the world watching the squared circle. The visit he had was persuasive for a number of reasons, but the most fitting one is that, unironically, Bass loves the water. If you’ve never been to the University of Tennessee’s campus, let alone Neyland Stadium on a Saturday in October, you’re truly missing out. The Tennessee river serves as the backdrop for some of the most electrifying afternoons in college football. The stadium is on the river, and the cool breeze comes rolling off it and into the tunnels of that hallowed arena. Taking the recruits to a game is really a cheat code, because hearing that capacity crowd of 102,455 screaming Rocky Top does change a kid. Yes, he was a legacy, but he hadn’t made his mind up about his future in football. Bass has always loved entertaining, but the energy in that stadium was too infectious. But who knows? Who’s to say Bass doesn’t make his way to the ring once his football career meets its end?
