- What is your favorite part of the league so far and are there any users that have really helped you get involved?
I really enjoy the "role-playing" aspect of it all; it's like Madden on steroids. I love the fact that in order to improve your player, you have to actually put in the work, not unlike in real-life. To be a great player, one must actually be dedicated consistently, on a weekly basis. Once I was picked up by the London Royals, I was invited to the discord where they were more than helpful. The community made me feel like part of the team, and it was awesome watching the streams and reacting in real-time on discord with everyone.
- As a newly created player, was the experience intuitive? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve the experience of getting started in our league?
The creation process was fairly straightforward. However, the next steps did get confusing. As opposed to manually adding updates and then having them double-checked, it seems like a backend database/engine would be ideal for something like this? Or even just a "player hub" where I can do all my updating, and see everything updated in real-time.
- Write a letter to any perspective GMs that may be interested in picking you up in the upcoming draft(or waivers). What makes you stand out?
For starters, I'm dedicated to and willing to put in the effort. I am also very much a team player. As a blocking TE, I don't mind getting dirty in the trenches to help my teammates make plays. You will get someone who will put in the time, and will also be very involved in my team's community.
- The ISFL has quite a few branding amongst its two leagues. Which branding are your favorite? Which are your least favorite?
My favorite branding has to be the Austin Copperheads. I love the use of actual copper as their primary color. Not only that, the shade of cyan helps make the color scheme very unique. Lastly, the logo is very high-quality. My least favorite might have to be the Baltimore Hawks or the Chicago Butchers. Both logos leave a lot to be desired.
- Talk about what inspired your players name and any meaning behind it.
I'm slightly obsessed with what makes a name 'great.' By no means am I well-versed in linguistics, but there's something about a name that rolls off the tongue and sounds like a GREAT name. Usually shorter syllables, alliteration, etc seem to work out great. In my case, however, it's slightly different. I love the name "Emerson" and hope that one day I name a son that. Quinn is one of my favorite LoL champions, as well as one of my favorite players in the NFL (Robert Quinn). I would have loved something like "Brady Quinn" but sadly, he exists already.
- Talk about your player number and if it means anything special to you.
This is a tougher one. As a tight-end, my options are somewhat limited. I wanted something that when I thought about it, I didn't immediately think of another player. I did this a lot in Madden, and would choose numbers that were infrequent, that way it sort of became 'my' number. You can't look at number 12 and not think Tom Brady (or Aaron Rodgers ). At least for me, it's hard to find a current player with the number 82 that I can say "that's their number."
