Hanyadi in particular won in one of the worst QB seasons of all time, and definitely the worst since that season. This year however, had in my opinion, 4 MVP worthy seasons (including moose), and in situations where multiple players could win MVP, the award should lean to playoff teams. How can the MVP be the captain of a bad defense that allowed the 4th most yards. MMM was not the reason the yeti won games. Caliban winning QBOTY proves that. Daytona, Saillor, and GTjr all deserves the award much more, as they truly put the team on their back and were extremely valuable to their team making the playoffs. In all honesty a Defensive MVP can only happen if the season is outlandish, and the offensive nominees are mediocre. Mmms season was extremely good, but so were the offensive nominees, and for an award like MVP, that award should go to the player that led their team to the playoffs at an elite level.(02-28-2022, 10:09 PM)Frostbite Wrote: This is fr one of the worst award results in a while. How does a LB on a 5 seed team win MVP, especially when multiple playoff team QBs were very good, not to mention Ultimus appearing GTjr.
Also Yeti should be fined for their ballot. exclusivity voting for your own players is bad and you really should only do that if there’s an argument for it. Ain’t no way you believe Bud R Fingers was better than Wendell Sailor lmao. If the Yeti pro bowl voting is all yeti again a rule really needs to be proposed or Ho needs to step in because it’s getting ridiculous.
How did Sloth win MVP in S28 despite NOLA being 13th with 5 wins? or Hanyadi in S24 on a team with 6 wins? Or even Caliban last season on a team that didn't make playoffs? S27 also had a MVP not in playoffs. This is far from the first time this has happened and Moose just had one of the best defensive performances of all time, not just this season. MVP isn't exclusive to playoff teams.
As for the QBs, not even the voters could decide who the best QB was or even who to vote for. Their voting was absolutely wild and unpredictable.
So you had three top QBs. Caliban, Daytona, Sailor.
Caliban wins QBotY by a fairly large margin. Despite that he comes 3rd in offensive player of the year behind Daytona and fifth in MVP behind both Daytona and Sailor. So they have him QBotY, but had those QBs higher on the other ballots.
Daytona comes third in QBotY behind Caliban and Sailor, but is the top QB in the OPotY vote, coming in second and two votes ahead of Caliban. Yet he comes 4th in MVP voting behind Sailor.
Sailor came 2nd in QBotY, wasn't even voted a single time for OPotY, but was the top voted offensive player for MVP with 4 votes to 1 for each of the other QBs. So he wasn't good enough for QBotY or OPotY, but was better than the top scorers in those two for MVP.
Voting was all over the place. Goat Tank was the only other player remotely in the conversation and he was barely better than the 2nd RB. Meanwhile Moose was nearly unanimous DPotY and was clearly the best performer on that side of the ball this season. So why not give it to the player who was the clear above and beyond performer?
Also I would really like to see how you can justify the Yeti voting
