Transcript from DSFL Pre-Draft Coverage:
Reporter: Billy, you were a monster coming out of college and are one of the top Defensive Tackle prospects for this year’s DSFL Draft.
Billy: Thank you very kindly, sir.
Reporter: With that being said, do you feel you let your teammates down?
Billy: … I don’t follow?
Reporter: Well the Centurions had a chance to win the Prospect Bowl and came up short. Surely you feel your lack of sacks, impact plays, and especially your numerous roughing the passer penalties, are part of the reason your team lost? Couldn’t you have played better to help your team?
Billy: *long silence, followed by a deep sigh* Well sir you are right. I did not have a ton of stats. In fact, the penalties against me greatly hurt the team in our first loss. However, this is a TEAM game, especially on the defensive side of the ball-
Reporter: Even as a team game you have been known to win games for your team in college so that’s not-
Billy: -excuse me, I let you ask your question, please let me finish my answer.
Reporter: I’m not asking for your view on the team effort I’m asking-
Billy: -and I am answering your question with MY answer. As a defense, we had a game plan to follow, each and every game, which everyone executed so well we were one of the top defenses in almost all categories in the Prospect Bowl. Sure, I coulda done my own thing and tried to pad my stats, but if I didn’t fulfill MY ROLE like everyone else was, if I didn’t buy into what we were doing like everyone else was, we couldn’t have been that dominant. So please sir, ask me again, what’s your question?
Reporter: Nothing more from me, thank you.
