The Ultimini winner Dallas Birddogs was the #4 seed in the 4 team playoff field in the DSFL. Ending the regular season with a 7-7 record the odds were for sure not in favor of the Dallas Birddogs. Starting the season with two wins the world was fine with the Dallas franchise but from week 3 to week 6 the Birddogs dropped all four games and with a win against the London Royals in week 7 the record for the first half of the season was 3-4 which could have been easily also a 5-2 because the losses in week 5, 6 + 7 were by a combined total of 7 points. The second half of the season had Dallas winning in week 8 + 9 and for the last five weeks of the regular season the Birddogs went L, W, L, W, L ending the season with an even 7-7 record. In the championship game of the South conference the Birddogs met the Tijuana Luchadores which the already had played twice during the regular season. In week 6 at home the Birddogs dropped the game 23-24 to the Luchadores but got revenge when they had to travel to Tijuana in week 9 where the Birddogs came out with a win 31-12. The playoff game between the Birddogs and the Luchadores was an exciting playoff game exactly wha the fans want. Tijuana led after the 1st quarter 3-0 but the Birddogs were able to score two TDs in the 2nd quarter against one tD for the Luchadores which made the half time score 14-10 Birddogs. In the third quarter the Luchadores took the lead with a TD and a FG against only a FG for Dallas and the score was 20-17 Tijuana when the 4th quarter started. It was all defense in the 4th quarter where the Birddogs shut down the Luchadores offense and scored 2 FGs for themselves to take the lead and the game by the score of 23-20 movingon to the Ultimini championship game against the London Royals. It was a showdown of two high-powered offenses and the total yards for both teams eclipsed 1000 yards. At half time the score was tied at 17 a piece.
