When asked if he was ready to step up and become the starting QB for the defending Champion Kansas City Coyotes, Mayhem was nothing but confident despite the negative connotation in the tone of the reported.
"I've spent my whole life preparing for this moment, and I don't pass up an opportunity to prove my doubters wrong. There's a lot of talk about whether or not I can cut it at this level and beyond, and I'm here to show everyone that even if my time leading a huddle is limited, I'm going to make the best of it and lead this team to victory just as my predecessor did."
Asked to elaborate on what he's done to prepare for the season, Mayhem had this to say: "The team ran two a days in the preseason and I was the first one in and last one out of the building every day. I studied the playbook all of season and worked with the rest of the offense in our down time running routes and getting our timing down, there isn't a damn player in this league who's done more to prepare than I have, and I'm excited to get the season started."
