The New York Silverbacks walk off the field dejected after losing a nail biter in overtime. The Silverbacks had come into the game on a roll, but a late field goal by the Arizona Outlaws sent the game into overtime and another field goal in the extra period sent the New York team back home with a sour taste in their mouths.
"I can't believe it! TWO double doink field goals in one game?!? And they BOTH went in?!?", says an exasperated Brick Van Sanzo. "We had them! WE HAD THEM!", exclaims Colt Mendoza, wiping the sweat from his brow. The atmosphere in the locker room is tense at first, but slowly begins to calm down. Eventually there are even smiles and bursts of laughter coming from different corners of the room. Tensions are clearly beginning to ease. After a few more minutes quarterback Sam Howitzer steps into the middle of the middle to address his team. "Look, I know that didn't go how we wanted. We were rolling for three quarters and things just got away from us. It happens. Let's use this time to re-focus and regroup. We're the New York Silverbacks. Let's show the world why we're champions!" Linebacker Jack Banks adds, "It's tough to lose to a two win team this late in the season but we've got bigger fish to fry." The Silverbacks would go on to finish the regular season at 15-1 and eventually bring home another Ultimus. Code: French - 205 Words Je pense sans hésiter qu’à mon sens, mon pire rival serait Minnesota Grey Ducks. Pourquoi ?
The biggest rival for the Minnesota Grey Ducks would have to be either Portland or Kansas City, depending on who you ask. For me I think it’s the Coyotes, both teams have a history, especially a recent one as both teams went to the playoffs last season, and both teams could meetup again this postseason depending on how the cards playout. You can always expect a close game when these two teams meetup, and to me I feel like they are our biggest competition when it comes down to it. A loss to them is always a frustrating one, and while the Grey Ducks have gotten the better of them in every matchup since Kaz has been a starter, it’s always a tough game even if it doesn’t seem like it. If any one player were to step up and motivate the team it would have to be John Huntsman, he is a beloved member of the locker room and everyone looks to him as a leader of the team, he has been a staple of the team and a core part of their success over the past two seasons. Hunstman is one of the best leaders on the team, and is one of the guys who people can always count on to rally the team and get us back on track. (222 words)

I just arrived in New York so I might be slightly off when I do this point task. But, in my days in the ISFL during New York's existence, I'd have to say that Austin edges Arizona as their biggest rival. New York beat Austin in week 16 of S25 to force an infamous 5-way tie that pushed Austin out of a playoff spot(after being a 2-3 seed all season) and vaulted the Silverbacks to the top seed. The events might have been the final catalyst that spearheaded Colt Mendoza being traded from Austin to New York that summer.
However, Austin would return the favor in season 28 as they beat New York on the road en route to an Ultimus 28 appearance. The other factor that intensifies the rivalry is that both war rooms have heavy influence from Dallas and Tijuana, so a lot of the competitiveness stems back to the DSFL days. Myself, joining the Silverbacks after 5 seasons in Austin has little affect on this brewing bad blood. If we were to have a heart-wrenching defeat in OT, I could see several voices stepping in to speak their part. Bob Roberts will definitely lift everyone's spirits up but also get us fired up with some rah-rah about the sim being the sim. Jack Banks would share a similar sentiment, but in a more "spirited" and uncouth tone. Captain Rogers would be the one to be the calming, soothing voice to prevent the riots. Colt Mendoza, if not dying from a heart attack thanks to Howitzer's interceptions, will succinctly explain how the sim rigged his strats and make us feel like we were always the better team, full stop. Myself, I'd be the one to shoulder the blame so no one else feels like they really let the team down on underperformed. Lawrence Miller will be the one to make light of the situation while Mac Griddle will feed everyone McGriddles as comfort food. And of course, Keik'io will pop up randomly and ask, "What week of the season we are in?"
