The Norfolk Seawolves are going to win the Ultimini this year in the DSFL and it will not even be close. WE have the best team in the league, filled with the best players you could ask for. On the offensive side, we the Luke Skywalker, the Jedi himself, leading our team. How do you expect to stop a QB who can use the force? That is right, you can not. We also have the two best Tight Ends in the league in Reynaud Haugland and James Lewandowski. Reynaud leagues the lead in TDs, and is a killer. On the ground, we have Flash Panda, who is the best. You can not tackle a panda, they are too cute. If you try to tackle a panda, you will just feel bad about yourself and reconsider it all. Also on the offensive side, we have the reigning Wide Reciever of the Year. Pretty loaded all around. On defense, we have the two best young safeties in the league, in Matt Cross and Wesley Erikson. Trying to pass on those two is just dumb, you ca not do it. We have the best LBs in the league aswell. We just have the best defense altogether, and we will win Ultimini by at least 50 points.
The Norfolk Seawolves. Playoff bound and ready to win the Ultimini. We’ve definitely got a tough first match up against a strong Myrtle Beach team. I think we’re seen as the underdogs here, but we’re gonna shock Myrtle Beach on the road again. Just last week, we beat the Buccs 37-10 on the road. We held their QB to a measly 36.6 QB rating, no touchdowns and one interception, that went 29 yards to the house. Our defense played incredible, holding them to just 5/15 3rd down conversions, and our offense drove down the field repeatedly putting points on the board. In the Semifinals, we’re gonna play with even more ferocity and beat the Buccs one more time to propel ourselves to the Ultimini. Now, in the Ultimini, we’ll be facing either the Pythons or the Coyotes, and depending on which team it is, our game plan is gonna change drastically. The Pythons have a strong defense, but their offense hasn’t been too impressive during the regular season. If we face off against Portland, it’s gonna be a very defensive game, and to win, we just have to make more stops than they do, and force as many turnovers as possible. The other thing is that our offense will need to play smart to avoid turning the ball over against such a great defense. If we face up against Kansas City, the match up I personally believe would be harder to win, we’re gonna have to play our best game defensively yet. The Coyote offense is powerful and marches down the field typically unopposed, using their Star QB Chika Fujiwara to her finest capabilities. They have a high caliber offense, so our defense will need to bend not break, and that will be the key to the game. Our offense I think would be able to go down the field and score against them, but we want to avoid a total shoot out if possible. Especially with our team relying so much on the run with two great backs in Panda and Sunrise, we can’t afford to have KC run up the score using their remarkable passing attack. That game would come down to the Norfolk defense, and whether or not they can make plays in the spotlight. No matter who we face in the Ultimini, I believe that we’re a good enough team to win it, and bring back the trophy to Norfolk.
Despite having all the pieces, it just wasn't the Duck's year for another Ultimini. After winning two in a row it was already mightily unlikely that we would be bringing home a third, but with the monstrous backfield we had and some good defensive returners it seemed like the stage was set.
Baby Yoda could be starting on DSFL teams, and Rick Skuff could be a contributor on NSFL teams or start for most DSFL teams. Jamar Lackson has made huge strides and would now be a very serviceable lead back for anyone at the NSFL level. And the running game did its job for the most part during the season, although in games where the opposition jumped out to a lead sometimes there wasn't an opportunity for the rushing game to get started. DSFL is tough to plan for, since who is back isn't up to the management of just the Ducks. It seems impossible that Yoda will be back, although Lackson ought to be and Skuff is probably 50/50. The focus should be on developing the defense so that the remaining running game has a chance to grind the opposing defense into dust. Whether that's done through free agency, trades or developing talent that is already there I'm sure it's the primary focus of the team. A great rushing attack needs a good defense to function, but when a team has both it is almost impossible to beat.
Baltimore. The port of the revolutionaries and the builders of the last great ships of sail. Proud, Defiant, Unbroken. Since the revolutionary war, it has stood alone, a jewel in the unquiet sea. A football team beyond reckoning, A bastion against the football teams of the NSFL. A QB adorned with every award but the title that matters, A defense voracious for vindication. Running backs demanding recognition for their works and vindication for their efforts. A Wide Receiver whos faith in one's final years resplendent in vindication. Baltimore marks the boundary of where America and Europe meet. It is the sentinel at the edge of the sea of Atlantic standing guard against those tainted tides. Twenty-one seasons of the cities proudest defenders have given their efforts for her glory. Their sacrifices forming a monument to their invincible spirit. It is a city on the very shores of hell. The proud will be humbled, The defiant shall taste ruin The unbroken will be shattered in the coming of their path. Dulios sacred angels have returned. Their defense and their offense will be dust in their hands. Recast in shame and shadow, Reborn in Black and Gold. And at long last, The Baltimore Hawks will win the Ultimus.
Quote:Written Option: The playoffs are just around the corner. For some of us, the siren call of the championship is still within reach; for others, it’s already effectively been put out of reach. In 200 words or more, make the case why your team will be the one to win the Ultimus or Ultimini; or, reflect on how you think your team needs to improve in order to get back into contention next year. The Baltimore Hawks should win the cup this season. We had one of the most solid offense and defense this season ranking 4th in PA and 3rd in PF. This was in part thanks to the flashy Quarterback wide receiver duo of Havran and Maddox. Havran threw for 32 touchdowns this season and Maddox was on the receiving end of those touchdown passes 14 times this season. Appolo Reed was also deadly for the offense with 4 rushing touchdowns and 5 receiving touchdowns to boot. On the defensive side of the ball Acho was top 3 in pass deflections, swatting 19 passes out of the air this season. Together with Green, Acho was also tied for first in interceptions. Green was also tied for first in the league with 3 forced fumbles. Defenseive end bakshi lead the league with tackle for losses racking up 18 over the course of the season. Baldari was one of only 3 players this season to block a punt. The Hawks will have home field advantage in the conference final against the Wraiths and then depending on their own conference final and the ASFC conference final they will have to play the Otters away, but if the Second line beats the Otters they will take on the Second Line in Baltimore. It's the Hawks time to shine though, so no matter who the opponent they know it's a game they want to win.
As expansion team, my London Royals were always going to have a diificult time winning the Ultimini this season. However, the team was very active with our TPE earning, and were consistently among the top of the league in TPE earned per player per update throughout the season. If we keep this up through the offseason and into next season, we should have a good chance to contend for an Ultimini championship. As our entire team will be entering the S22 NSFL Draft this offseason, a lot will ride on how many of us go straight to the NSFL for our rookie seasons, and how many of us stay down with the Royals for another season. Our QB, Colby Jack, will likely be back with the Royals, as he will automatically drafted to the Yellowknife Wraiths, who have Cooter Bigsby. It stands to reason that the Royals should definitely be improving next season, with likely quite a few players returning at much higher TPE levels, and our GMs having a season under their belt to learn from. Another reason to expect improvement next season is special teams. This season, the Royals performed extremely poorly on special teams. With mostly the same strats as other teams generally use, this performance can be seen as a massive outlier. Through 10 games this season, the Royals had allowed the the highest kick return average, and punt return average, as well as the most punt return touchdowns and kick return touchdowns. We had allowed 3 return TDs while no other team had allowed more than 1 (the rest of the league combined for only 3).On top of that, we allowed at least 3 other long returns that resulted in the opposing offense starting inside our 10 yard line. All 3 of these returns led to offensive TDs. Additionally, we allowed nearly twice as many yards per return (a whopping 8.3) as any other team in the league. It seems safe assume that many of these numbers will regress back towards the mean. For all of these reasons, I believe the Royals will have a great chance to improve greatly and compete for an Ultimini trophy.

In the inaugural season for the expansion London Royals the framework was set to build a championship team down the road. Nobody expected the team to compete for a championship this year although I still feel that we surpassed all expectations. The culture in the locker room was set through a great group of guys. Starting with the team management and the defensive and offensive captains all the way down to each individual player. The positivity in the locker room was contagious and everybody wanted to do their best for each other. Well we all would have liked to have won more games we can be proud of having five wins this season. I'm completely confident that within a few years the London Royals will be competing for the championship. On the defensive side of the ball linebacker De Ville showed us what it meant to play on defense both on and off the field. His contribution through media and leading our team in tackles and being probably the defensive player of the year made everybody work even harder. The offense of Captain Skyline put the team on his back many occasions including Big Time runs to win games and clutch running in overtime. The template is there the next generation to Royals just need to follow what we have done and a championship will be in their future.
