Man oh man, the world outside is going crazy. I’m glad that the NSFL isn’t. Having a stable job (playing football of course), is such a blessing, especially now. But if it the season was suspended tomorrow, and eventually cancelled, I think I would be okay.
Mama Magic is taken care of right now – She has all the food she could ever want, a home bigger than we’ve ever dreamed of, and all the toilet paper she could ever need. The only thing I have to worry about is Mama going stir-crazy and trying to start up a side hustle on top of her side hustle. Michael will be Michael. He’s on the phones getting ready for the offseason already, so if that happened tomorrow, I don’t think I’d see my little bro for a few more weeks. Forget going into quarantine, there are days where I see him go into his “War Room”, don’t hear from him for days, but see him hit the headlines several times. So I’m sure he’d be fine. As for myself? I have a home gym – so that’s where I’d be until draft day. It’s be tough without a trainer, or coaches, but desperate times call for innovation. I’m sure we’d be able to figure something out. Word Count: 213 Code: 279 words If the NSFL season were suspended, Quenton Bode would obviously be disappointed. He'd understand, of course: there are things more important than football, and Bode knows that. In fact, his own parents are at-risk, so he has a personal stake in making sure this virus doesn't spread farther than it needs to. His first priority would be making sure his parents are taken care of. There's only so much he can do when they're on the other side of the country, but he'd do everything in his power to ensure their safety. After that, he'd self-isolate at his home in New Orleans. Most of his time would be spent watching game film and staying in shape. After all, just because the season is suspended doesn't mean you can take time off. So he'd study his opponents and continue working out in his home gym, in order to stay in peak physical condition. He'd also do some phone and online interviews, as he's so laser-focused during the season he struggles to find time to speak with the media. He'd also get some small DIY projects done around the house, just to fix one or two minor issues he hadn't gotten around to fixing yet. And, because he very rarely gets time to play games, he'd sink some time into Animal Crossing: New Horizons. He thinks it is very funny to be a polar bear playing a human in a world populated by animals. Rest assured, however, that when the NSFL finally resumed operations, Bode would be back and ready to pick up where he and the Second Line left off.
If the NSFL were to suspend the season, I feel that there would be rioting in the forums. It would certainly bum me out since it was my rookie season and I never got a chance to show what I could really do. Good thing for me is that I know the perfect activity for me and my teammates to pass the time. Disc golf. It is absolutely perfect. No huge crowds and everyone can keep their distance on the course. And with this nice weather perfectly timed with the quarantine, everyone wants to try and soak up as much of it as they can. It is also a fun social activity that promotes the competitive nature I am sure we all have. Plus you can totally drink while playing which so many do already, so don't forget to bring a few 12 packs for the whole team. Now I know that not everyone will want to join in and play a round, but every player could use a caddy. There isn't much else to do besides juggling toilet paper and posting the video on instagram. Hopefully my teammates will take me up on this offer and join me out on the course to pass the time. You can join in even if you aren't on the team so don't worry.
Man, if the National Simulation Football League canceled their season I wouldn't know what to do with myself. This league has meant so much to me in the 4 or so months I've been here! Having a group of people that love football, and love earning TPE has been a big help with how boring college life can get living off campus. If the league shut down hanging out with the teammates and practicing during the week would stop, the locker room would be closed, who knows what else could happen. I'm sure the training drip would slow down, and a lot of players would have to call it quits when the contract money stops coming in.
We need to stay open for the football hungry fans out there starving for some action with all the other leagues shut down. If players have to wear masks, they have to wear masks. If we all need to wear self sanitizing gloves under our receiver gloves, then let's make it clean. I know me and the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers are going to go out there and try our best, and I hope the rest of the league tries just as hard as we do. The NSFL can make it through this, we need to make it through this!
The season being suspended would he ultimately very frustrating for myself. I've been working hard all season to become a high pick in the upcoming draft, and I'm worried about how it would affect my draft stock to have so much less footage for the scouts to work with. Luckily Matt Cross and I have a full gym in our ridiculous mansion in Norfolk. Even if we were quarantined we'd still be able to keep our fitness up and encourage each other. Matt and I already play Madden all the time, maybe we could organize a tournament online with some other players in the league, if only to give the fans a little something to cheer for while I know they're stuck home and worried too. I don't want to seem scared, I think athletes and entertainers like us have a responsibility to not panic in front of the public. We're only people, but we have to project strength into society, because like it or not, we're role models. So sure, the league being suspended would be rough. It would be boring. It would be scary. But we'll do what we can to project courage. That's what the people of Norfolk need.
Oh man if the NSFL decided to close its door, that would be extremely sad times for me and the whole Yellowknife family that we have built up for us in Canada. Well first off, I think me and the whole team are in a lucky position because we are located in Yellowknife. Everyone jokes about us and how we should not be a real franchise because there are like no people here. Well jokes on you for two reasons. For game days, the whole of Canada joins us at the stadium and now that there are no game days, well there is only really the team, the guy who keeps the huskies and the person keeping up the bar. So the chance we will get Corona is really small. But now that we are in quarantine, we are definitely turning to the thing that will make waves in the near future and that is esports! As we are all professional athletes (in a sim league) we are all also very super competitive. That means we need something to do that we want to be best at. I think the problem would be choosing what our game will be. I would probably want it to be League of Legends, but there will probably be Counter Strike players and Dota players. As long as we find our game, we will be the next great esports clan!
If the season ended it would be the worst moment of the year. All sports are canceled and this is the only thing i can occupy my time from this stupid virus. Me and my team would be prettys sad i'm pretty sure since this league is super fun to be in and i it was just canceled like that i would be super pissed and sad. Me and my team would just talk in the chat or play some game like warzone online since there's nothing else better to do.
But my player would take this opportunity to make a podcast with fellow teammates and join them and talk about this situation in the nsfl. And this would be a perfect opportunity to make media and make easy money so when the season starts back up my player would be good and ready to go. So basically the season would be pretty boring until it can start back up but in the meanwhile me and my teammates would find a way to spend time and waste it so once the season starts back up again we're ready to go. Hopefully this never happens unless something happens to a commissioner lmao. |
