SHL PT for one UW task
Playoff Series MVP: Choose an MVP for one of the playoff series and write about why you chose them. Must be completed after the playoff series you write about
The engine says Borkus Maximus was MVP of a shootout Ultimus, but I give it to Vladimir Fyodorovich. There's only so much one can do from the receiver position that's dependent on the QB, though the QB can't catch anything for you. You've gotta make the tough catches and he pulled off just that. More than that, though, he got the special teams ball rolling with a 50-yard punt return TD, staking his name on the game in a way NOLA would never allow their golden goose to even attempt.
He staked his name in every quarter of regulation on the scoresheet. In the second quarter, he took a pass 29 yards to the house, having to cover quite a bit of ground himself to hit paydirt on offense for the first time. In the third, it was a shorter immediate trip, going in from 12 yards out, and in the fourth, he nabbed the go-ahead pass.
And he was everywhere on defense, too! From his position, he made 8 tackles and deflected 2 passes. Man's got serious hands, speed and positioning. For getting all up in everyone's business everywhere and taking over the game for the Second Line, Fyodorovich deserves Ultimus MVP.

Playoff Review: Write a short review of the playoffs and each of the matchups. Must be completed after the Championship Game
In the NSFC, despite their records coming close, the contest was anything but. Baltimore steamrolled the Colorado Yeti 45-7 behind newly-acquired starter Ryan Applehort at QB, the old receiver/tight end corp of Declan Harp, Trey Willie and Verso L'Alto helping him spread the love, Owen Taylor chipping away at ground 6 yards at a time and everyone on defense pitching in to give the Yeti offense fits and get out quick. The disparity in the tackle numbers is a testament to how fast the Hawks pushed the Yeti to punt en route to their third straight Ultimus appearance.
In the ASFC, similar story between the Orange County Otters and New Orleans Second Line. Borkus Maximus III spread the love and the rock around, Smallwood made big strides to bust through the Otters' defense and the Second Line defensive corps yielded very little while making big plays to kill the OCO attack. While having to punt away more often, the defensive stands had the offense more comfortable and not in desperate straits to force any risky shots.
In the Ultimus, we got a fantastic conclusion to the trilogy in NOLA. Blow after blow traded, offensive might against offensive might, Fyodorovich coming through as the hero the Second Line needed throughout the contest and we even got overtime in the title match. Both teams got their fair crack at it and the Second Line were ultimately victorious when the Maximus to Smallwood connection locked up NOLA's second title in three seasons and in their home confines, they could turn right on up Bourbon Street for the immediate celebration.

Championship Game Recap: Do a recap of the best play from the championship game. Must be completed after the Championship Game
How was Vladimir Fyodorovich not the player of the game according to the stat monkeys? They favor QBs, that's how! The man caught three TD passes and that only served to make Borkus Maximus III look good to the machines! But Maximus doesn't go out and get it done on special teams. No need for him to take that chance.
The best play from the title tilt was Fyodorovich's 50-yard punt return touchdown late in the first quarter to put NOLA up 14-7. With Baltimore stalling out deep in their own territory, Turk Turkleton punted out and had to accept it was going to be returnable. Guess coach should have called for more coverage on the punt or for Turkleton to take it easy, because Fyodorovich took off through them all from midfield with certainty of starting with great field position.
He wanted it all, though! Fyodorovich followed excellent blocks through the midfield chaos and found his open lane after another cut through traffic, heading down the right sideline and winning the footrace with Turkleton, the last man to beat, for his first of what would end up being four touchdowns for the day. Underrated play, excellent special teams sequence and the Second Line had their real Superman take flight.
