Because this is only my second year being around the league, this is a bit of a tough point task for me. I don’t know many of the people who would have been drafted in season 19 or earlier, and I know even fewer people who have been busts. I do know of one player that qualifies, though. In the Minnesota Grey Ducks locker room, we happened to talk about toxic players the other day, and Sweet James-Jones was brought up. We all did some research, and wow, this was one guy that you would not mind skipping in the draft. He was a very high pick, being taken with the sixth pick in the first round by my very own Chicago Butchers. With this draft position, you expect someone that will be a gamechanger. You want someone that will have an illustrious career, helping your team reach its goals. However, Sweet reportedly stopped updating during their first season. This isn’t even the worst of what Sweet James Jones did, though. Sweet ended up being permanently booted from the league for being aggressive, racist, and threatening towards other members of the league. We’re all just trying to have fun here. There’s no reason for behavior like that. This is why, with my limited knowledge, I believe that Sweet James-Jones is the biggest bust in league history.

Worst draft pick of all time hmm? Well as a new player I've heard of some trash picks cough cough Cal Lidious cough cough but those are more recent. I think one of the worst picks I've seen was the Marcella T?riki pick by the San Jose Sabercats. San Jose is a trash team and has always been bad so it's no suprise to me that they are involved with a big draft pick. As usual, SJS finished with a bad record and had the 5th overall pick in that draft, and wasted it on a running back that was pretty hyped up. So they draft a freaking RB (has no one told them drafting RBs with high draft pick is for nerds) and they expect a running back to fix their team? Stupid SJS as always. But no one saw what was coming next. SJS decided to let this rookie add an option in her SECOND year. How stupid do you have to be to do that. There must have been some warning signs when they drafted her that she didn't really like SJS or something. Hell, I can't really blame her 'cause no one likes SJS. So they wasted a first round pick on a RB that caused more harm than good. Classic SJS. Maybe if they didn't suck so much then people wouldn't want to leave that team. But T?riki switched up on SJS like that and y'all say I'm a bad LR influence? At least I'm loyal.
I have only been here for 5 or 6 seasons, i haven't seen a lot of drafts. So the one draft pick that i can remember very well was in the Season 19 one, where Sweet James Jones was picked with the 6th overall pick.
The Chicago Butchers were already in a middle of some turbulent times, with GM changes coupled with some awful managerial decisions, so in a draft where they had 3 picks in the first round, they could have used this to get 3 great players and improve their team, but instead decided to trade one of those picks. With their first pick they definitely hit a home run, with Sean O'Leary, but then decided to use their other pick on Jones. Coming into the draft, Jones was already looked at with some distrust. While earning TPE at a decent rate, those who are normally on discord already knew that there were a lot of concerns about his posture on the game. Racist remarks were common, big feuds existed with a lot of users, so it was a big surprise when Chicago reached for a player that i do not think any other team would touch even with a 10 foot pole. A 6th overall pick, getting inactive 1 month after the draft, makes this a gigantic draft bust. (222 words) |
