This is the NSFL, after all. Nothing gets solved behind closed doors, everything is in the public eye! I disagree about making communications privately. While I think that there should be civilities viewed - and maybe this conversation should have taken place outside of the media forum, I think that discussions like this deserve to be public and transparent. The reality is this is a forum community and a public community - having discussions about what is happening within the community, how there are apparent changes on the graders mentality of what should count that differ from the posted FAQ is an entire community issue, not just a me issue. I think the entire community should be aware of the discrepancies in grading to gain a better understanding of what counts for media. Decisions being made without the transparency of the community is how I feel it got to this point in the first place. Not knowing that graders apparently change how lenient they are based on your bank balance, length of time in the league, etc is something I think all users deserve to be aware of. I apologize if my posts hurt anyone's feelings, that definitely has never been my intention.
I'm really disappointed in some of the reactions here.
In the end we're people doing the best we can. I'm sorry if you feel like there is some underlying agenda to screw people out of money. I hope in the future people feel like they can come to us and talk to us if they have questions or concerns. If you get blown off or get a bad answer, by all means take it to the people. But I think we are reasonable people in the end and want people to enjoy the league. I can't imagine I'll rejoin this thread because it just bums me out, but you all know where to find me if you want to yell at me in person. Thank you to @bfry for the signature!

Maybe I am wrong, but I think its fair to assume this could have been a simple mistake instead of instantly jumping to the fact that people grade harsher because of your bank balance. I think this was brought up simply to say that they are not targeting you specifically or else they wouldnt have let many other things fly. If they targeted based on how much you make, users like Tesla and IsaStarcrossed would have their media gone through with a professional editing staff haha And this is a public community, discussions happen. But that does not mean we need to default to public complaints right away. The world is a public community, but I do not shout at the barista at starbucks whenever she messes up the swirl on my half caff cappuchino (i have never ordered coffee before, i dont know if this is a real thing) I just think it important to be mindful of what everyone might be going through. It seems I was wrong and that the head grader was contacted, but was also going through surgery. Any surgery is scary, especially one in these times. Discussing with people first and having a civil conversation goes much farther and can complete this issue quicker. If you discuss with them and then come up with an answer that still isnt satisfactory, then maybe a public forum post is warranted. I think articles like this also switch the narrative. Its no longer about your article when you make a post like this, it is about defending the integrity of your entire work force. People come to a post a lot differently when its a message saying "hey i have a question about my media that was rejected" and a post that says "Dear Media Team" and in my opinion some emotional language used. It can definitely take the constructiveness out of things. In HO I can certainly attest that we approached things differently in convos or even in GM than public posts that contained many phrases just saying somethign along the lines of "HO is just totally wrong"
wtf is a straw man
