ISFL GM Pass
Expansion:
I know that a lot of expansion has happened in the last few years, with Berlin and New York being the most recent cities to get teams, but there is still room for more. There's a large class on the way in S32 and the league could benefit from an extra team. Lots of people would love to GM teams and this would free up slots for them. There are several markets the ISFL hasn't tapped into either. Southern California has a huge population, and with teams in places like Yellowknife it's strange that we haven't used the Southern California market. This huge population could generate a ton of revenue for the league. There are a ton of owners looking into buying teams, so the funding for expansion is there. I think that the midwest could use another team, maybe in Cleveland or Indianapolis. This would break up the monopoly that Chicago has over the midwest fanbase. Having 2 Florida teams and 3 northeast teams skews the balance of the league, allowing certain teams to gain huge followings. My third favorite option for expansion is Paris or Madrid. This could open up potential for a rivalry with Berlin, and given how passionate sports fans are in Europe this would cause there to be potential for a huge windfall of cash. Expansion would also push the conferences to 8 teams a piece. This makes the playoff picture smoother and provide more competition in each conference with there being 4 playoff slots. This helps discourage tanking since teams have an extra playoff slot to fight for even if they have a less competitive roster. The arguments against expansion are relatively weak. There is a massive quantity of players both inactive and active that could fill slots. If anything, it would help keep more new users active since it opens more opportunity at marquee positions. More players get the chance to play QB and RB, which is always a priority for new positions. I really think that expansion could cause a huge benefit to the league and draw in more new players while also helping to build new fanbases and foster international growth in the league. These benefits can be used to expand more, maybe into Asia and Australia. WFC has shown that there are players from all around the world and these players would love to play for teams in their own country. The ISFL needs expansion, ideally within the next 3-5 years. Biography: De'Aaron Harper II was born on July 7th, 2025 to Kira and De'Aaron Harper in Miami, Florida. His father was a security guard and starred at Florida Atlantic University as a wide receiver. His mom worked as an elementary school teacher. De'Aaron Harper starred in several youth sports, starting as a shooting guard, shortstop, running back, and corner back until his freshman year in high school at Miami Carol City High. Harper decided to quit playing baseball and basketball after his freshman year so that he could focus on making it to the ISFL. Harper's high school career was storied and he immediately proved that he made the right decision to quit his other sports. He was named all-conference at both RB and CB for his final 3 high school seasons. Harper also won conference player of the year as a junior and a senior. This all led to him being named the #4 recruit in the nation and the #1 CB. With offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Clemson, Auburn, and more, Harper chose to stay close to home by committing to the Florida Gators. Harper's offseason workouts before his freshman year at Florida were legendary, being posted on ESPN, BleacherReport, and Barstool. His hard work paid off in his freshman year when he earned a spot as a starting corner for a stacked Florida team. Harper debuted at Florida by holding #8 Georgia's star WR to 4 catches for 41 yards while breaking up 3 passes and getting into the backfield for a stop. De'Aaron Harper II was named to the all-conference team and came up big in Florida's win in the Citrus Bowl. With 4 minutes to play, Harper intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown to give the Gators a 10 point lead that they never relinquished. Going into the 2045 season, Harper was touted as a superstar and the Gators entered the season ranked in the top 10. They failed to live up to these expectations, winning just 8 games behind an anemic offense. Harper was brilliant however, leading the SEC in pass breakups, interceptions, and passer rating allowed on his way to a SEC Defensive Player of the Year award. Harper didn't allow a single touchdown in coverage while snagging 9 interceptions. After the season, Harper got his coaches blessing to walk away from the team before the bowl game to prepare for the DSFL draft and to secure a contract with a DSFL team. Harper recently signed with the Tijuana Luchadores and is looking to make waves in the playoffs.
9. Through a random lottery drawing, you have been named the league's new commissioner for a day. Congrats! What improvements would you make to the league if you had the power to do whatever you wanted?
(422 words) Leadership requires boldness. Only through the admixture of innovation and pragmatism may a leader enhance the scope of typical behavior and institute memorable changes which might benefit the league. If made commissioner, I would recognize that while the phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," has merit, the opportunity to be made commissioner for a day requires bold leadership. And so, if I was commissioner for a day, I would institute an irrevocable rule titled "The Brother Rule." Teams are families. The strongest teams are those which demonstrate the strongest bonds among players. When players cross the confines of teammate to family member, greatness becomes visible. Thus, when players enter the league already bonded by blood, they should be permitted to join a team together to further strengthen those familial bonds within such a team. Under "The Brother Rule," players will be eligible to be drafted with one an other if the following conditions are met. First, first posts from each player must mention one another. Second, a wiki must be created for each player in which each, again, mentions one another. Third, each brother must have an image of the brothers together in their signature line. Once all three conditions are met, a new post with links to all met conditions must be submitted for review. Once approved by a "Brother Checker," a new position paid 3 million dollars a year, the brothers will have an asterisk on all draft pages. As approved brothers, any team which drafts a single brother may claim the second brother. However, they must make such a declaration while drafting the first brother. At their next draft pick, such a team will be obligated to take the brother. As a side note, should a team draft Brother 1 in Round 1, claim Brother 2 in Round 2, and then trade picks to move up before receiving Brother 2, they still must use the NEXT pick after Brother 1 to take on Brother 2 regardless of where that pick is. This rule will reward teams who pick one brother with the benefit of the other and will encourage teams to trade if the brother are attractive enough. To prevent abuse, however, there will be a user limitation. Two users may not be brothers with consecutive players. Each user, upon retiring a Brother, must build a new non-related player and play them until regression hits. After playing through the entirety of a career with a single child, only then may that use play with a brother again. 10. Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league. (400 words) There comes a time in every boy's life when he crosses a threshold. A moment where the childlike lethargy of summer transmutes into industriousness and energy towards self-improvement. Sometimes, that single moment transforms the boy into the man he grows into, but other times, there are several moments that define the man his tribe knows him to be. When Morpheus was 13 years old, his summer nights were spent on the play ground, discussing cards, video games, and television with his friends. Their social order was dictated not by strength or size but by wit and who might contribute the most to any conversation. An easy and natural conversationalist, Morpheus enjoyed the respect of his clan. But then Barbara appeared. With curly blonde hair and eyes which disappeared into the afternoon sky, Morpheus' friends no longer wanted to discuss the frivolities of childhood but instead who might win her heart. Morpheus threw his childhood pleasures aside. Only Barbara could satisfy Morpheus now. And so he learned what she liked. She liked strong boys who played sports. Morpheus now liked playing sports. And so Morpheus spent hours in solitude each night learning how to play soccer, football, and the proper technique for running track. Morpheus would be the object of Barbara's affections just as she was his. Nights turned to weeks, weeks turned to months, and soon Barbara was sitting on the bleachers, her skirt just barely draping over her crossed knees as she watched the boys try out for the high school football team. Morpheus lined up at DE because it meant he'd be closest to Barbara. He hoped that by lining up closest to her, she would see him thrive. And then she would be his. At the sound of the whistle Morpheus took off, thoughts of rushing towards Barbara filling his brain. And as he imagined what their first kiss might look like, he felt the impact of his body destroying another's. And he relished in it. In an instant, Barbara was gone from his imagination. He was instead captivated by the boys surrounding him, telling him how great he did. He was elated as coaches came to him and told him he would make the team. He looked over and saw a pleased Barbara. But Morpheus was no longer interested. He had a new crowd to please. And thus, Morpheus began his long love affair with football.

17. Your team has announced that they will be laying ground on a new stadium next season. What additions would you like to see included in it. No graphics option available here. (2.5 TPE)
While Dallas is not the coldest place in cities with ISFL and DSFL teams, I think it is safe to say that all stadiums eventually face the cold of the winter and when that happens, fans, players, staff alike all have to brave the cold with freezing tuchuses. The Birddogs certainly can't be letting that happen, especially not on Beniri T'Chawama's watch, so therefore Beniri has rallied the troops (that is his teammates, fans, and staff) to propose to the owner to tell the contractors to install built-in bench warmers for all the seats in the stands. This is a rather large price to pay, but the fans would certainly appreciate it and so would the team. The bench warmers can even have high-low settings that allow portions on the bench to be warmer than others. To show and try to convince the owners that this is an essential addition to the new stadium, Beniri has drafted a petition with over 50,000 signatures from fans, players, and staff in support of these installations. With such as large number of supporters, it would be hard for the owners to deny the desire for these additions. Heck, with these new additions I would not be surprised if fans start being more okay with higher ticket prizes for the additional feature. (218 words) 19. If your player had a show starring them, what would the plot be? Graphic Option: Create the cover art for your player’s show (2.5 TPE) Beniri T'Chawama's show would none other be a cooking show with his family! The first episode would have his father Lunouc T'Chawama guest star in making their signature T'Chawama family pancake recipe. They definitely want to start the show off with a bang as it is premiering on the Food Network, streaming sites like Netflix, and the show's YouTube channel "Making Stuff (with) T'Chawama". The first episode would have the backstory of Beniri and his love for food, before welcoming his father and diving into the recipe, but to make things interesting, the production crew would provide a specific challenge for Beniri and the guest to do. This would give the team better ingredients to cook the food, and if they fail, it shows that the pancakes can be made with even the most basic cooking utensils! And of course, the challenges would result in large views on YouTube for their clips. In this particular episode, Beniri had to play frisbee golf with pancakes and score a minimum of 5 baskets before the time ran out! As for subsequent episodes, it would follow the same format with the introduction of the recipe backstory, the introduction of the guest, the cooking, and the production team's surprise challenges! There would be guest stars from all the leagues! (215 words) 25. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why? (2.5 TPE) Since my current position is running back, I think without a doubt in my mind I would love to switch back to being an offensive lineman. I will say it and say it again, there is no better stat than getting pancakes and offensive linemen get the most pancakes on teams. Even though I recently learned that other positions get pancakes as well, no position gets as many pancakes as an offensive lineman. In addition to having pancakes, offensive lineman are highly underrated but can make significant impact to the team. Sure they do not often make touchdowns, nor are they the star quarterback or kicker, but that is what makes offensive linemen stand out is their silent but large impact to the team. I was never one that wanted to be the star or center of attention on the team, just a solid contributor. Not to mention that when I created, people have told me the offensive linemen are wanted in the ISFL and as long as you earn consistently, then it would be a good career. And so, this does not put a large pressure on myself to max earn in my second league, as well as makes it so I cannot necessarily fail in this league as well. (211 words) 32. TASK 9
I would probably preface anything I say in this task by stating my belief that this league's commissioner/head office staff have actually done a pretty good job in recent memory and there isn't a ton that I think they've done that stands out as being glaringly bad and something that needs to be addressed. With that being said however, there are obviously a few things where I differ slightly from the party line and think need to be addressed or otherwise I wouldn't be writing this task prompt. The main issue I have with the league is the low quality sim engine. Not obviously an easy thing to fix, but something that I think will definitely hamper the ceiling that the league is able to reach in the future if we cannot improve the game that is at the very heart of the league. I don't know as much as some people do about the sim and its workings, but as someone who mercifully hasn't had to spent multiple hours test-simming or optimising strategies within DDSPF, I believe it provides me a perspective of someone who's purely seen the end product that it puts out without having to see how the sausage is made. Quite frankly, it sucks. Compared especially to the sim engines that the SHL and the PBE use, DDSPF is quite frankly embarrassing, all the way from the nonsensical things that seem to constantly be happening in it to the low quality presentation output it comes out with. Like I said, it's probably the hardest thing to fix because I don't really know if there are any viable alternatives, but it kinda sucks that for a sport as popular as football, someone hasn't taken up the task of improving on things and making a game that we could use as a successful sim engine. Something else I would like to talk about that I'm not a fan of is this treating old members who come back under new accounts as multis thing. Obviously the Zamir thing has got HO on edge and worried about how someone could exploit this type of thing in the future, but I just don't like it as a rule and think that it could definitely limit the number of old members who come back if they want to try giving things a real fresh chance when they potentially haven't done anything wrong in the past and have nothing to hide. Feels like a rough rule to me, and not one I've seen in other leagues so I'm hopeful that it gets looked at and removed at some point in the future. Code: 440 words TASK 13 Expansion is probably the topic that everyone has on their mind most in any sim league at any one time. It's inherently a really exciting thing to go through, with the process of things like expansion drafts, getting to see new brandings for teams that are joining the league and draftees being able to go to a team and establish themselves as one of their first star players. But all that fun aside, its a process that needs to be really carefully considered. We have to take into full consideration the number of players in the league at the minute and whether there are enough players (particularly active players) to fill up the roster spots that new teams will bring, and if this is the case, whether the league can reasonably maintain it to stay the same into the future. I think for me, one of the biggest things that has held the league back a lot in recent seasons is that draft class recruitment just hasn't been strong enough in recent seasons to justify adding more teams to the league. Particularly given that I don't believe off the top of my head that the last couple Reddit classes are going to blow anyone away, it just means that there's not going to be the players to fill out the roster on the new teams that the league would be adding into the mix. I think that HO is obviously going to be taking a wide range of factors into consideration before they make any decisions regarding expansion. I know it's something that's been thought about for quite a few seasons now, but I don't blame HO for being gunshy on making the decision, because it's one that will have long lasting consequences and is incredibly hard to go back on once it's been set in motion. For now, my opinion is that there's just no justifying it with recruitment the way that it is and we have to sit back and wait to see if things change in the future before this type of thing can be committed to. I'd imagine there needs to be a good number of consecutive drafts where recruitment is notably better than anticipated to make something like this happens, and until we get to that point I can't see it really being on the agenda any time soon. It's a fun thing to observe and be a part of, but ultimately it just isn't what the league needs today. Code: 415 words

PT 7 - Rookie Experience
So I joined the ISFL on a whim having seen it been advertised through the Green Bay Packers subreddit before the start of this season. Having never been part of a sim league or done anything like this before in my life so had no idea what to expect. And, spoiler warning for the rest of this article, it’s one of the best choices I’ve made in a long long time. Once I created my player and read through the rookie guide I was welcomed into the rookie discord. This was a great feature and really helped me get a basic grasp and what the league was all about and some of the wonderful people within the ISFL. My first shout out goes to each and every single mentor in the rookie discord, they really helped my get over the first hurdle. Then the fun really did begin, with scout asking questions left right and centre. Each scout was friendly, kind and willing to help. They did build the hype around draft day, I remember at the time being rather excited for the day to come. Unfortunately being based in the UK meant that the DSFL draft steam was on at 1am, I wasn’t really able to stay up and watch the stream, but next morning I had the stream on and was excited to see which team drafted me. My second shout out goes to all those member who work hard behind the scene to create the professional streams that we all get to see! I ended a Python!! The whole draft process was great and I’m looking forward to the ISFL draft coming up. Ive had some great scouting conversations with some teams and some not so good one with other. Hopefully I’ll end up on a team that wants me there, fingers crossed! The whole Pythons locker room has been amazing, Zeagle (GM), simo, Laszlo & Leatherneckmike and other have been welcoming, funny & great people to get to know. Hopefully this is only the start of it and may it continue to grow for a while. There was a load of learning down at the start, especially with my update page and another shout out to all the Pythons who helped me understand the process and correct way to set one up. Now a bit of a dive into my player, so I choose TE a day role for my player as I wanted to role play someone who would be like myself in RL. TE seemed to best fit for my skills that I process. So far I’ve been happy with his progress, just this week I’ve been able to max out his speed rating, 1st big goal done, and currently working toward improving those hands & strength. I’m terms of stats Mark, has been one of the best two rookie TE. His usage is slightly down on Anthony Maguire but YPC is slight up. TD is an area for improvement with only 2 score in the season, hopefully he’ll find the end zone come playoff season. 512 Words PT 10 - Road to the ISFL Mark was born to an English Army officer, Lt. Col Wayne Goodhead and American mother Slyphrena Caprica , in the heart of rural England. His parents were unfortunately a pair of ships to pass in the night. Mark & his mother returning to the US soon after his birth. The relationship between his mother and father was never sour and Mark spent many an enjoyable holidays in the UK with his dad. He spent the first 9 years of his life in America with his mother side of the family. Mark always had a love for American football from a young age having been taken to many an event with his mother & step-dad, and always aspired to follow in the footsteps of the great players in the ISFL. Unfortunately, at the age of 9 his mother & step-father, were killed in a road traffic accident. He returned to his place of birth to live with his father. His father, as part of his military perks, was able to enter Mark into the English boarding school system. Due to his father forever changing work deployments he never settled in any given school. At the age of 11, his school jumping stop and he settled in a boarding school in rural England. Unfortunately, being in a English private school, pursuing a career in the sport looked unachievable. Mark was a gifted sportsman at school, playing 1st XI football & rugby and captaining the school 1st XI cricket team. He dedicated himself to any sport that he partook in. After finishing sixth form he applied to and study Mechanical Engineering in America. Mark applied to many an American collage to study Mechanical Engineering, eventually he decided to join Southern Methodist Uni. At SMU, Mark took the opportunity to finally play American football. Having never really played properly, Mark had no idea which position he was best suited at. During his freshman year at SMU he never saw any game time and swapped into several position, notably the time he tried punting, many teammates will look back at the moment and remember his red face as his foot totally misses the ball during practice, since then he's left kicking to those with an eye for a ball. Nearing the end of the year, and with a lot of hard work from both himself and the coaching staff Mark ended up playing tight end. As his time in collage progressed both Marks confidence and ability increased, leading to him becoming a regular starter during his second year at SMU. During his final year at SMU, he became a team captain and was instrumental in leading the team to a series of outstanding wins against several rival & a bowl win. During the post win celebration of the Bowl win, Mark knew that his time of playing American football had only just started. He then declared for the S30 Draft, and was selected in the 4th round with the 28th pick by the Portland Pythons 500 Words

21. Now thats three seasons on the new sim. What are your thoughts? Do you think that it is better than DDSPF16?
This sim is absolutely terrible. It always has been. It is a complete embarrassment. The designers, programmers, and testers should all be ashamed of themselves. There is no attention to detail at all in this simulation game. The 16 version is almost better, which is a scary thought knowing that the game has not really progressed at all in over 5 IRL years. There are very few redeeming qualities in this software, and there never has been. Line of scrimmages vary depending on which way you are going on the screen. Plays with penalties are replayed multiple times, and the list goes on. Trying to see stats mid-game was much better in the old version, as was mostly everything else. The league needs a new sim altogether. The original Front Office Football that was released by Solecismic Software in 1998 blows away this trash they try to call a simulation game. Time to move on from this travesty. In addition, it is preferred that weekly game sims end before sunrise the next morning. The games take entirely too long to sim now, and this inferior product just finds new ways every year to ruin a game with potential. The league chose this game, and the league now needs to do better and find a better alternative. 22. You’re in charge of entertainment for the Ultimus or Ultimini half-time show. What would you do? The halftime show would consist of a plethora of different types of entertainment. First, there would be an exciting synchronized jump rope routine by a talented local group of trained jump rope artists. This would be followed by some slam poetry delivered by up and coming writers from the Urban Poets Collective. Then, there would be an operatic interlude as a tribute to The Three Tenors, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, and Luciano Pavarotti. The opera portion will work to soothe and calm the audience before the start of the massive encore. The 20-minute encore will consist of an All-Star Jam of some of the top musicians in the United States, regardless of genre. This season it will consist of the following artists: Metallica, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Willie Nelson, Foo Fighters, Eminem, Elton John, and Ozzy Osbourne. Their setlist will contain a medley of greatest hits from all of the performers that will be a showstopper. As the music fades, Michael Buffer will take the stage to announce the start of the second half of the game. It will be a no holds barred extravaganza that will be unmatched in its originality. It will go down as the pest halftime show in history. The only person that could have done it better would be Prince all by himself. 26. Football is a game that has been going on for a while, loved by fans all over. But what if you were able to make some rule changes? Talk us through your new version of football, and what would be different and why? The new version of football would be very similar to the old version of football. The one where you were allowed to hit the opponent. The one where just a slight gust of wind anywhere near the quarterback did not result in a roughing the passer penalty. The one where the ground could cause a fumble. The one where the defense stood a chance. The one where you weren't allowed to give yourself up as runner. The one where a hit to the helmet was an ordinary occurrence. The one where guys were missing teeth. The one where there was no such thing as a defenseless receiver. The one where you were allowed to drive the quarterback into the ground. The one that didn't resemble flag football. The one that let you kick the opponent or punch his junk after a play. The one where the offense lived in fear of a big hit, and thought twice about catching a ball over the middle. The one where a receiver would get alligator arms thinking about it. The one where guys would have vials of coke in their football pants on the field. That is the game I miss. The one I see now doesn't even resemble that sport I grew up loving. 32. 2. Tell us about your draft class. Is there anything that makes it special in comparison to other classes? Where did your fellow draftees land, how are they doing? Did anyone turn out to be an unexpected steal of that draft based on what you know today? Do you think anyone in your draft class will become a hall of famer? If you’re new to the league, how do you think your class will do? Where do you think people will get drafted to?
My draft class for the International Simulation Football league was one for the ages. Overall I feel that it was pretty deep at least for the first few rounds. I think that one thing that makes it special is the impact players that were found in many different positions. My player is a tight end, and with that, I have tracked tight ends closely this season, so that is where I will start. For my class, I am referring to rookies who were called up and playing in the International Simulation Football League. I consider them my fellow rookie class, not necessarily the ones who were dr I believe tight end was one of the very best positions in the draft this year. This years rookie class consisted of 3 rookie tight ends. Two of them were picked this year (Sal Ami and Nick L. Back) and one was picked in the draft s29, and was called up for their first year this year (Zack DiNozzo). Ironically all three of us played at the same time and on the same team last year in the Developmental Simulation Football League for the Norfolk Sea Wolves. All three of us made big impacts in our first season in the “big leagues.” Zack Dinozzo led rookies in receiving yards with 831 yards on 81 catches. Nick L. Back came in 3rd in receiving yards with 687 on 71 receptions. Sal Ami came in 4th in receiving yards with 611, but also led all rookies in receptions with 88. This type of yardage from tight ends in a rookie season leads me to believe that these 3 players will have lasting impacts in this league. Elsewhere around the league, we had other rookies who had quite a bit of success. I think if I had to pick one player who will be a hall of famer, I would go with my team mate Miles Weperom. He plays safety and his user name is MMFLEX (this is what I will refer to him as moving forward in this article.) Flex started every game for Honolulu and had 59 tackles along with 5 pass break ups and 1 interception. These stats are solid for a rookie safety, but that is not the whole story for a player like Flex. His impact was felt beyond the field. In the locker room he immediately assumed a leadership role within our team. By the seasons end, he was going above and beyond in his duties in the war room, helping team leadership make decisions, and also taking on additional scouting for players who had some tough breaks when it came to their work schedules in real life. I do not know much about the other rookies in my class, but in my experience, Flex is first class and will be a legend when it is all said and done. Looking around the league, The fire Salamanders got a great rookie season out of wide receiver Troy Abed. He is a 6 foot 3 inch wide receiver who used his size to take advantage of smaller defensive backs all season long. Troy Abed ended the season with 68 receptions for 788 yards and 3 touchdowns. The fire Salamanders converted for a first down on 48.5% of his receptions this season. The first pick of my draft class belonged to line backer Sherriff Woody. He was drafted by the Baltimore Hawks in hopes that he can be a cog in the middle of their defense for seasons to come. Sheriff Woody had a solid year as a rookie with 78 tackles along with 8 sacks and one interception. Sheriff led my rookie draft class in total tackles and was 3rd overall in tackles for rookies this season. Jason Garciaparra was selected by the Chicago Butchers in the 1st round of the draft and was the 3rd overall pick in the draft. I think he will continue being a great contributor to their defense and in my opinion he had a great year. He had 14 tackles but also had 6 sacks, which is especially impressive when you think about the position he played. When thinking of steals, it is too early to say on something like that. We are only one season into our rookie class, and many of the draftees stayed down in the Developmental Simulation Football league for the entirety of this season. Maybe after a few more seasons, I will revisit this in more detail and see how things worked out for each team and player. As of now, I would guess each team is pretty happy with how their different selections performed this season. In conclusion, I (although probably biased) think that my rookie class will be a solid one with many members who become franchise cornerstone building blocks for seasons to come. Hopefully as time progresses, these positive thoughts continue to be reality for this draft class. 821 Words |
