Dan Miller decided to fly home for his charity fund raiser. There are many "dance troops" in New Orleans with risque names/innuendos that generally march in a parade once or twice a year and they often do philanthropy throughout the rest of the year. Some of these names are: "Bearded Oysters", "Camel Toe Lady Steppers" "Muff-A-Lottas" "Pussyfooters" and "Organ Grinders". There are even some guy groups like the "Jail House Rockers" and the "610 Stompers"
He is very proud of the music scene in New Orleans so the event is a dance competition between all of these groups. There are also silent auctions, raffles and a blood drive that occurs at the bar that is hosting. Since New Orleans has a very divisive income distribution, this fund raiser is to pay for better musical schooling and instruments in the lower income areas. It's great fun by all and really just a great excuse to party for a good cause. Anyways as the event started, things began to get wild. The dancers were putting on quite the show and the bar was serving tons of drinks. After the performances and a winner was chosen, the weather started to pick up outside with some light rain from the recent hurricane hitting neighboring areas. The bar decided to blare the music and the patrons decided it would be more fun to go dance outside in the rain on the street.
Antonio Sandoval knows the struggle of growing up poor. Growing up his family had nothing but each other, and that was enough. But he doesn't want other kids to have to go through what he had to go through. That's why he started "Antonio Sandoval's Charity for Disadvantaged Youth." It is entirely based on donations and events. He has an event coming up. This event will be held at San Diego's famous Balboa Park. It will be a dinner auction, with items for sale such as autographed game worn jerseys, cleats and helmets. All the funds from tickets and the auction will go directly towards helping these kids. With these finds kids can grow up not needing to know the struggle of not knowing where their next meal is going to come from. They have a chance to achieve their dreams without having to struggle like Antonio did. Antonio had to fight and claw for everything. Antonio was quoted saying "This is a great event. It supports a cause that I really care about. When I was just young, I told myself when I went professional I would help kids like me. Now it's happening and I can't believe it."
Philippe Carter has the health of the youth at heart. So when he was pretty much forced by the Yeti management to dedicate some of his time to a cause, he turned to one of his favourite hobby: gaming.
Indeed, in his years as a gamer, he heard of a condition affecting more and more youngsters: saltiness. "How do you cure such a horrible thing? Is anyone even investigating saltiness? How does one become such a loser to resort to teabagging every time one gets a kill? Those are things I hope we can understand and hopefully cure in the future," Carter said about his foundation, Phil Has Too Much Chill. Mere days after the creation of PHTMC, Carter's mailbox was filled with messages from desperate parents. "I think we really addressed a need in the society. The world is changing and it's time for us to change with it," said Nadine Carter, Philippe's wife, who was put in charge of the foundation. "Especially when you play unranked matches, you don't feel like getting stupid messages about your mom or the sound of raging 12 year olds in your headset. You're just trying to have a good time. Something had to be done and we are proud to be the first to tackle this problem." Are technological advances good enough for the human race to understand this problem? We can only hope... It's no secret that NSFL players love to get involved in local charities, both to improve their own media image and to give back to the communities they owe so much to. Even before his first preseason game, George Wright was helping his teammate Omar Wright's charity donating dress clothing to children. Since then George has started his own charity, the Wright Flight Foundation, which is a little different than most. Wright is a conservationist and avid birdwatcher, and developed the foundation to help protect endangered North American wild birds, especially those threatened by invasive species or human populations. Wright feels that too often fans get the impression that players are meat heads that would rather break things than fix them. He feels it's important to show viewers that football is about helping the community first and foremost. The Wright Flight Foundation's first charitable event will be a dinner, gala, and educational seminar hosted by Wright in Irvine Park and the Orange County Zoo. George has arranged for several birds from endangered species to be brought to the zoo so guests can learn about them and the impact the Foundation plans to have on saving them. The event is expected to be well attended by fans and by Wright's friends and family from Wisconsin.

With the Wraiths strongly embedded in the Yellowknife community already, it only made sense to start and give back. Today management announced that every second Monday of May, will be " Wraiths Will Day ". The concept of the Wraiths Will Day is that the players and staff from the Wraiths organization, will be at your disposal by donation. Need your lawn mowed, pool, cleaned or maybe your attic insulated, we will do it all for you. Pay what you can or feel is fair and we will be your slaves!
The idea behind this event is 2 fold. First is obviously to give lower income family's and the elderly affordable help for a day. Second and equally important is all proceeds go to the local kids sports bursary. Our hope is that we can allow the local kids an opportunity to play and participate in sports. That they may not have had with out our support. We would also like to announce that we will be donating a school bus to the community for team travel as we are in a secluded area. This should help bring down travel cost for everyone and give family's without a vehical a means to participate and travel with thier childern.
Jordan Yates hasn't always been a very charitable guy. As a child, he hated sharing his toys with anyone. This state of mind carried into his teenage years; he strictly looked out for himself and not others. He would have been sad if something happened to someone close to him, but he wouldn't necessarily help them out. Then, sometime during college, his attitude changed. He began to show compassion to others and began charitable actions like giving toys to needy children. Today, he's organized an event to help provide clean children to families in Africa. He used his position as an National Simulation Football League player to really get his event started. He promoted it by recruiting teammates Vincent Sharpei and Ben Longshaw to help him. They washed cars and allowed children to throw water balloons at them for a small price. The proceeds all went to the water foundation. They topped the event off by auctioning off game items signed and worn by the players. This was the real money maker for the event, as it drew in over 20,000 dollars for the event. The actions made by the lineman for the Sabercats helped change lives all the way across the world.
