The Outlaws are going to make the playoffs this year, or at least have a very good chance to. One of the key foundations of a team is the Qquarterback. If you have a bad QB, you're not going very far. It's the most important position in the game and it's not even close. Arizona has had the highest TPE Quarterback for the past 2 seasons now, and Cue has been maxed for a while. We had a good chance to make the playoffs in s23 but we lost the 2nd to last game of the season to the Copperheads and missed out. But that year you could say we got lucky. The season after that, we had a really good team, and we got the 3rd place in the conference, but somehow missed out on the playoffs because of the dumb tiebreaker rules. WE really should have made it last year, but this year we got way better, so I 100% expect us to make the playoffs. Arizona has the 2nd highest average TPE and the 2nd highest total effective TPE. There's no excuse for us missing out on the playoffs. If for some reason we miss out on the playoffs, I don't think I'll be staying in Arizona.
The Season 25 Draft Class is going to go down as one of the greatest classes ever. The class as of this posting has a total TPE of 24,911, which is a great average of 237 per player, while the top 50 TPE users have 16,231 which accounts for 65% of the overall total and an average of 324 per player. There were tons of great users and multiple users were projected as first rounders. If you look back at mocks there was not a consistent prediction for the first round and the average mocked correctly was around 3 per user.
The constant remarks after the first round was “I didn’t expect this player to fall this far in the draft.” or “We thought this player would go much higher.” or “We didn’t think this player would still be here at this spot in the draft.” Teams were easily finding talented players/users all the way through the fifth round of this draft. There were a number of recreates in this class from long time veterans and a lot of great new users who brought some new ideas and energy to the league. There were a number of users who had been hired for league jobs prior to the draft. Even one new user taking over as GM in the DSFL. I believe it’s rare to see this many dedicated new users in a draft class. The constant remarks after the first round was “I didn’t expect this player to fall this far in the draft.” or “We thought this player would go much higher.” or “We didn’t think this player would still be here at this spot in the draft.” Which is true as it was hard to fathom how some great users had fallen so far. All I can say is this class is one that is going to have a great impact on the league for seasons to come and if we users all recreate at the same time I’ll be writing a similar post reiterating the same things.
The next expansion may be closer than you think! Mathematically, that is. The then-NSFL was founded and held it's inaugural season in 2016. The following season, the league expanded to add 2 more teams, the Philadelphia Liberty and the Las Vegas Legion (eventually rebranded as the New Orleans Second Line). The 8 team league was the norm for 13 years. Then, in 2030, the league expanded for the second time, but the first time of note. This expansion added the Austin Copperheads and the Chicago Butchers. Now set with 10 teams, the league continued as normal for 7 years. In 2037 another 2 team expansion came around, this time adding the Sarasota Sailfish and the Honolulu Hahalua. And now, after only 3 years, another expansion has come around. The 2040 expansion added yet another 2 teams to the now-ISFL: the Berlin Fire Salamanders and the New York Silverbacks.
There is a clear trend forming. The gap between expansions consistently shrinks down by half, give or take. Thus, a linear forecast is not the ideal tool here. Using an exponential trendline, we can project out to the point at which the league will add 2 teams again. I am tempted to say it will be next season, as that would seemingly match the decrease in time between expansions. However, in actuality, it is perhaps more accurate to say that the league will add another 2 teams in: 2045
---This is kind of beating a dead horse, but I don’t really have much else to talk about for this PT I’m going to talk about the sim…heh. Let’s be honest for most of us the existing sim software that we use sucks. It is outdated, it crashes if you don’t follow a specific order of things (which you won’t know unless you trial and error a bunch of times), one of the biggest things, in my opinion, is it isn’t new user friendly. I'll talk about some of the reasons why I imagine we haven’t switched sim software and some disadvantages of switching.
---The number one thing is money, you would need to either find other open-source sim software that would be, without question, better than what we are currently using. The other option would be finding a company that the ISFL could sign a deal with after purchasing, that would be ok with distributing the software to potentially everyone in the league. This would most likely cost fat stacks and is the first hurdle that would need to be cleared. The other big disadvantage would be converting over our system to this new software. Recreating a whole league, recreating every team and every player, learning the new software. The software would most likely use different stats and metrics which leads to figuring out how to convert an existing spec system over to fit the new one. The list goes on and on when it comes to the amount of work that would be needed to convert everything over. All said and done though I feel this would be worth it in the long run. The new interface could have some more schemes that fall in line with the actual football strategy. Games could be tested for easier. Positions could matter. This would be a great change if done right, the key thing is doing it right which takes a lot of time and money. ---Thank you for coming to my shitty Ted Talk, I feel bad for the person who had to sit through and read this to grade it and give me my sweet TPE XD.

My argument: Arizona is the best team of all time when measured alphabetically.
First, we need to know what ‘alphabetically’ means. According to dictionary.com, ‘alphabetically’ means “in the order of the letters of the alphabet”. Great; a definition that uses its own word in the definition. Wikipedia is somewhat more helpful and defines it as “a system whereby character strings are placed in order based on the position of the characters in the conventional ordering of an alphabet”. In order to move this along, we’ll assume everyone here is familiar with the English alphabet and knows their ABCs. Since I believe Arizona is first alphabetically, let’s work from bottom to top. The first one is easy. Since there are no Zs, Yellowknife must be last. Unfortunately, it gets harder from there. Next, we’re met with two teams whose cities start with S. Luckily, there are rules for that situation; one simply looks at the second letter. Crisis averted! We can place Sarasota second to last and San Jose third to last. After a couple easy ones with Philadelphia and Orange County, we have to go the fourth letter to put New York behind New Orleans. Let’s save some time and slot Honolulu, Colorado, Chicago, Berlin, and Baltimore next. At last, we are down to two teams: Arizona and Austin. Let’s take what we learned above and apply it to this situation. Once again, we look at the second letter. This clearly shows Austin in second place, leaving Arizona is first. In conclusion, Arizona is the best team of all time when measured alphabetically. Code: 263 words edit: typo
There are many doubters this season about how Norfolk is going to struggle this year with losing 14 due to call ups to the ISFL, (Notable Call Ups - Suleiman Ramza QB, Captain Rodgers RB, Dukburg Quackstack CB, Quentin Button FS, Rusty Rucker LB and Jimi Desoto LB) Now that is a strong arguement for why a lot of people have tipped us to be bottom of the division, but I'm here to tell you that confidence is still high off the back of a close ultimini loss. We have managed to keep Ananda Adyan OL, Sam Roes DL and Myself (Xmus Flaxon Jaxon-Waxon) which is a very strong base all three are now capped. Now Norfolk have done extremely well during the latest draft notably picking up Dogwood Maple, Mr Forty Two, Delacour, Teboat, Salamanca and Rogers, all 6 actives and guaranteed 4/6 to be improving massively as the season goes along. We have a solid base for huge chances of improvement and have covered almost all positions of need. Now that puts the question of quarterback, well we somehow managed to snag a quarterback in waivers who seems to be a pretty good user and pretty much a steal given we did not need to spend a draft pick on a quarterback. I firmly believe with all the positions covered I could see Norfolk making a playoff push especially having a great second half to the season due to the massive potential in the squad and this is certainly a fact - the sim loves chaos so who knows we could all be seeing Xmus finally lifting that coveted trophy by the end.
Why the Myrtle Beach Buccs will win the Ultimini this season:
Myrtle Beach has the the best QB in the league aka mooty daytona, and hes being supported by far the best WR corp in the entire DSFL, 2 capped WRS and a capped TE, no other team even comes close to the passing game the buccaneers will hopefully show this year. rounded out by two solid rookie running backs and some power on Oline, the boys from myrtle beach have the most powerful offense in the LEAGUE. Their secondary is insane, 3 capped DBs and 2 dbs between 100 and 200 tpes. the defense is helped by a strong core of linebackers with high/capped TPE but unfortunately DLine is their only weakness, given that they only have 1 dline man who is also a rookie (who hopefully will get stronger as the season continues). its going to be interesting to see whether the new GM, i forgot his name something like GNT or NGT, he didnt win any awards so i dont really remember his name, is gonna help the buccaneers or if the change in management is going to affect the players from myrtle beach in a negative way. road to playoffs should be pretty damn easy, given that dallas and norfolk both had alot of callups and therefore are pretty bad, and i prove that by looking at their TPE which sooks more than frost. |
