So doesn't blocking TE now make blocking RB kind of obsolete as a FB? You can get slightly more intelligence with the blocking RB but doesn't the weight increase from the blocking TE make a bigger difference?

I feel like even before this change the Blocking TE was better than the Blocking RB.

Well, and correct me if I'm wrong, I can currently play a blocking TE in the slot in one formation, be required to list him as a FB and then he's effective running the ball in the other formations. Correct?

He has to play outside receiver in one formation. If you want a 80 speed 75 hands guy on the outside, you're dumb.

It's not. The difference is 5 more agility and 20 more pounds at the cost of not being able to be used effectively in several other slots. If you really want to min-max it yeah, you could probably find a way to make one better than the other on paper, but in practice you will see almost no difference between these two.

How so? Blocking RB had more strength and blocking. Was it just that much weight made the difference?

No. Outside WR. Slot doesn't matter. The reason we had to make the rule is because the sim is forcing extra volume to these receivers as opposed to pure WRs. Forcing volume to the slot guys isn't OP because they always get tackled very quickly. But if you can force excess volume to the outside where you get long catch-and-runs it's extremely OP.

Yeah, if you want to be a TE and play at TE, blocking TE is going to be better than blocking fullback. But if someone wants to play at fullback, pick blocking back.

Ok cool, thanks for clearing that all up. Was just kind of confused about all the position eligibility and weird penalties in the sim for playing out of position
