As some people may know, the Colorado Yeti did not do their NSFL regression in time. When it was done, it was done by a player on the team who did it at the request of a head office member. This is one of the many General Manager roles and duties that @TheMemeMaestro has ignored and been non responsive to in his tenure as a General Manager. For a variety of reasons, and this was not a decision that was taken lightly, TMM will be removed effective immediately as a General Manager.
Ever Since General Manager became a paying position, it became a league job, that fell under the umbrella of the head office. TMM has not done his job, and just like someone on the updater team, PPT, or simmer if you do not do you job you will be removed. We want to say that while TMM is 12-72 in his 6 seasons as a General Manager, his less than stellar record is not the reason for his firing. The following is an non-exhaustive list of inaction or errors under TMM in his 6 seasons as a GM.
- Failed to do regression on time in spite of numerous warnings. Had to have a team member do it after the deadline. When the team member made a mistake, TMM failed to correct the mistake and the team member had to do so. During this time, he ignored numerous pings from HO members and team members reminding him to do regression.
- During his 6 year tenure as GM TMM never once was the GM who updated the Depth Chart. We are aware that doesn't mean he didn't assist in strategy, however after talking with teammates it appears he did minimal, if any of that
- Overly relied on co-GMs. It is OK on teams if there is a General manager that does a lot more work than other GMs, however it is not OK for the head GM to require the co-GM to do most work. We spoke with multiple of TMM's co-General managers, and it is clear that Meme was not pulling his effort for multiple seasons
- Minimal activity in the locker room and GM chat. TMM is certainly a well liked good guy, however after speaking to members of his team it is clear that he does not have the requisite activity level. In the general manager chat, he has repeatedly ignores matters pertaining to his team. When the General Managers and Head Office members were discussing a potential punishment for the Yeti for ignoring regression, TMM was tagged numerous times and had no response. However within minutes when there was a joke comment made by another member, TMM chimed in to that making a joke. When asked about the regression issue TMM ignored everyone again.
- Did not do award voting or Pro Bowl Voting within the deadline. This is not required of GMs, however it is indicative of TMM's lack of activity. In fact, after @Bzerkap posted his thunder dome, TMM went and voted (this is after the votes were submitted to the awards team for tallying).
- Was the last General Manager to do HOF voting, and had to be PMed and pinged several times to do it.
There are likely other examples, however we believe the point is clear. We want to add that this is not how we would have liked to go about this, we asked for TMM to step down and he rejected that proposition. This is not a decision that was made lightly, nor is it a decision that we made quickly or rashly. Amongst the Head Office team with was a 6 to 1 vote with one abstention.
In related new we are now hiring for Yeti Co-GM! @Supersquare04 will be the new Head GM, @sapp2013 has agreed to be co-GM of the team until we find a replacement.. .We are taking applications for Co- General Manager. So please PM them to an HO member or to SuperSquare or Sapp.
