No I was talking to him all offseason he said he wanted to look into FA, thought we had a good communication going and that he'd come to me to see if I'd match an offer he got.....except he never gave that curtesy . Good on him for getting $13M in the first year of his deal, not sure we could have done that anyways

Yea I just looked through his posts, doesn't look like he was ever eligible to be re-signed as an inactive

I am not sure if I am going to be the bad guy here but I messaged you almost 4 days before I made my FA announcement and was contacted by anyone else. All I wanted from the Liberty was the same 5 million I had received in the past.

Nah no one is labeling you as "the bad man" or anything lol, you just literally told me you wanted to see what other teams would offer you and I gave you that opportunity, just never got the ring back when you did receive that offer. It's all good though, like I said good on you for getting that 13M, something we probably wouldn't have done.

Also I asked to wait a little bit so I knew what our draft was looking like to get a better idea of our budget, but you wanted to get signed much earlier.

Let's ask the Yeti and Sabercats how rebuilds go when you never try to actually turn that corner and start winning games.......High draft picks start going inactive, demanding trades, or leaving in FA...

If you just look at the value of the players/picks in this trade, it is clear we overpaid. However if you consider that it will help us keep our young core in tact and begin winning games, then I'd say we got an absolute bargain.

I was GM for a season and half. In my tenure the lone meaningful pick I made was Haruki Ishigawa (Who, as we all know, has ended up being a very good one for us down the road and has made big contributions down the road).

Not sure where this unwarranted hate is coming from as I had no say in the management of the franchise for S5-S8.

Conversely, look at Arizona, that never went full tank mode and tried to win all the games they could in S9 and S10. It cost us a couple of draft spots, but we don't have to worry about our players not caring because we never stopped caring.
