Ah Halloween, the final day of October. Many people love this holiday, many people hate it. Others think it’s a stupid capitalist construct and are indifferent towards it. Halloween is by no means Rylant Wright’s favorite holiday, but that doesn’t stop him from having an awesome time. He doesn’t do all that much, honestly, but, in the neighborhood in which Wright grew up, that’s what makes it fun. It’s a pretty close knit community, and that adds to the fun. The people of the town get together, and have a large feast on Halloween night, one would even think it’s Thanksgiving based on all the food that is consumed. The best part, of course, is the dessert. Every person brings a giant bag of their favorite candy, and faces are stuffed accordingly. Rylant Wright’s favorite candy is Swedish Fish, so naturally he shows up with a colossal bag of the red candies. This tradition has been happening since Wright was a child, so it holds a special place in his heart. The sense of community is what makes this tradition great, on a holiday in which Rylant Wright would otherwise not care that much about.

Being a test specimen saved in a tube, and growing to be an adult in a matter of months is something that has been super difficult for Chris Orosz. Yes, yes, we all know that his story in itself is a freaking Halloween story, but that’s not what we’re going for here. Chris has always just kind of been…. Different than everyone else and does not really know what to do for Halloween, or any major holiday in that regard. So when he heard about going trick or treating around the San Jose Stadium, he didn’t dress up, he went as himself. Since, you know, he’s a clone and what not. Anyway, he decided to join his teammates Kazimir Oles, D’Pez Poopsie, Ja Brill and some others, while they were all dressed up as different things, you know, A T-Rex, Mario, A Winning Football player, etc. Chris decided to go as himself. A Huge, huge, “monster” as some would call him, since he is a simple test specimen. I guess Chris has a lot more to learn about what the hell life is and how to enjoy holidays and the like, but hopefully with time, San Jose can make him more “normal”, or at least more “human”.

The light was on in front of the large stone house on Cherry Hill Drive. The sounds of children laughing and talking filled the air. As a group of children walked by the Methane Manor one stopped and stared, catching a glimpse of something moving in an upstairs window.
Quickly his mother rushed up and averted the child's gaze. "Charlie, we don't go to that house. Do you understand me?" Panic stricken, the mother gently shook the child by the shoulders. "We don't ever, ever go to that house. A bad man lives there.” “But mommy, I saw something in the window. A lady.” The child stammered. “That’s impossible honey. Only one person lives there, and it’s a man.” “No! She had grey hair and no eyes! I saw her!” Clearly shaken, the mother looked up at the house. There in a window on the second story of the Methane Manor, a curtain waved as if just having been let go. “Mommy, who lives there?” The child asked. “That’s the house of Danny Methane.” The mother replied, her steely gaze not breaking from that second floor window. “Now we need to get out of here before he comes chasing after you. Maybe this Borkus Maximus costume was a bad idea.” No sooner had she said that than Danny Methane appeared in the doorway, wearing his complete San Jose Sabercats uniform. “MAXIMUS!” he yelled, pointing directly at the small child. “I’M COMING FOR YOU!” Methane broke out in a dead sprint right at the child. Mother and child, frozen in fear, could only scream. All that remained was a pool of blood and an exploded bag of candy.
Verso L'Alto has never really been much of a Halloween guy, to be very honest with you; he's just never really got the appeal. When he was younger he did enjoy picking out someone to dress up as, but money was often hard to come by and as a result, he felt bad asking for any money for Haloween costumes. Therefore, he just dressed up with things he could find around the house, in his dad's closet, sister's dress up bin, or borrowed from friends. The candy was good too. For the most part, he always had a good haul, and he would often work with his friends to convince their parents to take them to a rich neighborhood with houses close to each other. One Halloween, in particular, he remembers filling up two whole pillowcases with candy. But the appeal quickly fell off as he would feel awkward going trick or treating once he got to a certain age. when he was old enough to start going to more parties, that was a thing but maybe L'Alto is just happy being who he is and doesn't feel the need to dress up as anyone else. Now, he's happy to just stay home, carve pumpkins, and hand out candy.

Quote:"There is no such thing as a person who can call themselves truly not lonely. There are only those who choose to hide it."
Halloween is not a holiday of great emphasis or favor in the Deringer household, though it hasn't hurt Kolby to at least be somewhat cordial with it. In addition to supporting the day's activities operated by branches of the Diocese of San Jose, he had his own home decorated. He had acquired the jerseys of the QBs he had sacked thus far and set up skeletons in full gear with said jerseys on. At the front, he staked a sign by the mailbox: "Quarterbacks beware!"
Kids brought to his door were treated to sacks of candy with SaberCats emblems and his autograph at the bottom, though it was reported he gave a few kids a bit of a fright when one would come bearing a non-SJS jersey and a QB-legal number. This was especially hilarious (to him) with a few who came bearing Orange County jerseys of his former teammate and current rival Gus Showbiz. "Oh, hey, you wanna meet Gus? I think that's him over there," he would quip, showing one of the skeletons in pads with Gus's Otters jersey on and flat on his back in the driveway decorated like an end zone. "That's him after I put him down a second time. He just didn't learn..." All in all, a relatively peaceful night without incident.
