Roman Stakowski is a huge, and I mean huge, Halloween fan! He absolutely loves Halloween movies from killer clowns, psycho thrillers, zombies, monsters, creepy haunted houses, killer dolls, etc. You name it and there is a chance he's seen it a million times because he loves horror movies. Even the sci-fi related ones! Anyways, when it comes to decorating Roman works hard every year and has always had the creepiest house on the block growing up. He got his Halloween obsession from his dad and the two of them have worked on decorating their house ever since he could walk and hang up decorations! It made Roman really sad this year because he hasn't settled into Portland and bought a house because the money in the Developmental Simulation Football League went to training and he is living in tiny apartment on the outskirts of Portland. It is very hard to decorate a small apartment you see, so Roman made a special trip back home to Calgary to help his dad decorate their house and continue the annual Stakowski tradition of creepy ghouls, tombstones, giant spiders, and cobweb decorations. Roman was excited to see his family again and even more excited to spend Halloween at home with his dad.
Hike Mughes has never been a huge Halloween person. Growing up in a small town it was never a big deal more than going out and trick-or-treating when he was a kid. But now, Mughes is living in Tijuana to play with his new team, and his teammates decided to all go out for a Halloween party. Mughes did not know what to expect going in as he had never been to a crazy parties from where he was from, but everyone knows how great the parties in Tijuana are. He dressed up as himself in a Hike Mughes jersey, and got a lot of people to come up to him and tell him how big of a fan they are of him. Ever since his big pick six earlier in the season, Mughes has been a fan favorite on defense for the Tijuana Luchadores, so it is no surprise that so many people were excited to see him out and partying for Halloween. Overall, Mughes had a very good Halloween this year partying with his teammates and friends, something he had never been able to do in his small hometown. Now that it is November, Mughes is looking forward to the Christmas season starting!

Halloween is a scary time of the year. That's why I dont go outside on that day. I don't have any lights on in my house and I definitely don't answer my door when someone knocks. Nope. It's too stressful to guess if they want candy or to kill me. It's just safer to stay inside and mind my own business. I put candy in random places outside to make it seem like there was something there and that I’m not a grouch...But I am...No I’m a hermit. I know when the doorbell rings many times I start getting freaked out by, anxiety starts kicking in but they finally leave. Sometimes I look outside through my blinds to see what the noises are out there. But then I see masks and fake blood and knives and I almost pass out from the fear that they will see me and try to break in to kill me like in Purge. So I just run back under my covers put my headphones in and listen to the sound of silence. I wonder how my teammates are doing in this horrible holiday. PFFFT Holiday. More like Scaryday. Remember to go Vote so we can get rid of Halloween.
Usually, Cameron Taylor hasn't been much of a party goer. He's had some classic costumes though. Being 6'3 -6'4, there is a lot of humour in dressing up as women or child characters. You try not laughing when you see the Yellowknife starting Strong Safety walk in to the party dressed as Sailor Moon. It's something to see. So Cameron has always been known for his hilarious costumes. It changed a little bit this year. He and some of the other vets hosted a party for the young spooky boys. So in this case it was the young boys time to shine. So Cameron dressed as an army general and hosted a potluck at his place and once in a while was displaced to the front door to hand out candy to the young brave Yellowknife children that haven't frozen solid yet. Next year may be a return to form for Taylor, but as he ages and as his career progresses, he sees how much of a role model he can be to the young players of a retooling team. He doesn't need to be the crazy funny costume guy in order to feel important. He is by setting a good example and being a good teammate to everyone.

This year for Halloween, I changed it up a bit and went to a haunted house with some friends. Normally I wouldn't want to go to one as I get quite anxious and antsy, but it was Halloween and it never killed anyone to just live a little. The haunted house turned out to be a combination of a "haunted hay ride" plus two different haunted houses all combined under one ticket. Overall, the production value was extremely high. The hay ride involved various scare tactics such as flare explosions, zombies creeping up behind you, a person flying across the sky with a chainsaw, and of course scary animatronics. The houses themselves were set up very effectively as well, and had the typical themes of abandoned towns, asylums, clowns, and junkyards. What I found the most impressive about the whole experience (and keep in mind I've never been to one before) was the usage of the lights - many flood lights were placed right at eye level so that, even though you knew something was going to be around the corner, it would be impossible to see them. I noticed they used this a few times, especially outside, and every time it worked.
For the first time going, I actually quite enjoyed going. I don't know if I'll want to go to another one, but it definitely was a fun experience.
Halloween has always been an interesting time for Howard Miller. Having been born in Australia, the tradition never really struck a chord with him. Though he has spent the majority of his life in the United States and certainly enjoyed the event as a kid, as an adult he has struggled to find the point and purpose in simply giving out candy to kids. He loves seeing them happy, though he believes it shouldn’t be limited to just a single day. So, for the week leading up to Halloween, Miller visits struggling neighbourhoods around Denver and, if possible, greater areas of Colorado, to hand out more ethical ‘treats’: new clothes, toiletries, sports gear, school supplies, food vouchers, and more. For those who recognise him or are fans of the team or just the NSFL in general, he arranges to have them visit team facilities and meet players and coaches, or, if they’re not necessarily fans of the Yeti, he just gets them along to a game – ideally when it’s their favourite team visiting Colorado. Once Halloween night does come around, Miller still decorates his house and has plenty of candy for the kids, but it’s the week leading up to the spooky night that means the most to him.

Darren Morris is a big halloween fan. He loves, specifically, to copy the majestic possum and play dead. Almost every year he'll pretend to be in some sort of deadly scenario and convince his teammates he is dead. However, around S7, the trick stopped working and everyone in Arizona had gotten wise of his Halloween pranks. So he took it to the next level. From S8 to S11, Darren Morris disappeared into the Arizona outback and lived off the desert land, avoiding human contact. Then, on the eve of the spookiest day of the year, Darren returned to the Phoenix practice facility and scared his teammates and GM run_CMC, who were all sure he was dead and not returning. Even scarier was the fact that some guy who looked like him had been claiming to be him for 3 seasons, but vanished at Darren's return. Authorities are still looking for the madman who may have defrauded the Outlaws of millions of dollars, but still somehow put up better DB numbers than Morris had in his entire career prior. This story is told exclusively from Darren, and truth be told, he's suffered a number of concussions during his career and it's just as likely he played those games in a haze and never survived the Arizona desert solo.
