After a 14 long seasons the San Jose Sabercats finally end their drought. Running back Jerrod Canton had helped get his team to victory, and secured his place among the history books. But it was time to fulfill a promise he had made last season to many GMs, that he would be moving on after this season, win or lose.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Sabercats these past few seasons, and hope to continue the relationships I built along the way. But it’s time for a new chapter in my career. I will miss you greatly. And remember what that dumb new Star Wars tagline: nobody’s ever really gone.”
After receiving several enticing pitches from GMs about the direction of their teams, promises of usage and stardom, there was really only one that swayed his opinion.

In all seriousness, there were lots of good options and I went with the one that spoke the most to me. Not money or wealth, promises of stardom, just one that spoke to me and my values.
I am happy to announce that I will be taking my talents to Yellowknife and look forward to my future with this franchise.
