1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews:
Written: Give a short write up of one or multiple playoff matches. If completed before the airing of the sims have predictions, after if it is a review of the game.
Hello darkness my old friend. This could be what many Yellowknife players might be saying as the Wraiths are again matching up against the Orange County Otters in the Ultimus. And also the Wraiths again have home field advantage for the tie and I think this year, this will play a big factor. Both of them are good teams, finishing 9-4 and at the top of their conferences. They both have strong quarterbacks, with the Wraiths having the reigning MVP in Cooter Bigsby and the Otters seeing an already two time Ultimus MVP in Franklin Armstrong blossom and really put himself in the conversation for best quarterback in the league. The Wraiths have a more experienced group of wide receivers in Swift, Helanen and Sunnycursed who are all in the middle or back half of their primes. The Otters on the other hand outside of Kazimir Oles, boast a young and hungry receiving group who already have two Ultimus wins. Both teams have strong running games, with the one-two punch of Hanyadi and Drake for the Canadians and Apollo Reed destroying fools on the Otters side. The defenses will be key in this game. Both teams have strong defenses led from the trenches and with strong secondaries to back them up. With fine lines being tread and small margins of error, I think Yellowknife will get an Ultimus on home soil with the backing of a home crowd and as long as Cooter throws under 3 interceptions.
3) Revenge
Written: Write 200 words about a team you’d like to get revenge on next season and why. Did they knock you out of the playoffs? Blow you out?
Oh this one is pretty clear, although it may not be for some people. This season we have four losses in total and there was only one team who was able to sweep our season series out of all the teams in the conference. This team ladies and gentlemen, is the Philadelphia Liberty. They seemed to be our kryptonite this season and I have no idea why this may be. It started out already in Week 1. After our tough Ultimus loss the season before, we thought we could get the season back on track with a great home win against the Liberty to really set the mood and tone for the whole season, but they clearly had other ideas in store. It was not the best game for Cooter who channeled his inner “Fuck it, Chuck it” boy and threw for 3 touchdowns and 4 interceptions while Richard D’Attoria V had a game to remember for himself and most likely winning performance of the season on the back of 9 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 interceptions and a defensive touchdown. We thought revenge could be served in week when we went into Philadelphia on the back of a 4 game winning streak, but against kryptonite struck again. Torenson gashed us for over a 100 yards and 2 touchdowns while we could get nothing going on offense. Even though it's a great feeling being in the Ultimus, next season I want to make sure we sweep the Liberty!
7) Penalty box
Written: Football is now adding a penalty box! Which of your teammates would find themselves in it most often, and for what reasons?
Well there are a multitude of candidates for this on our Yellowknife Wraiths locker room and we sometimes joke about who would find themselves into the infamous sin bin if we implemented this so it is a perfect opportunity to tell everyone else about it as well. Well the first candidate would obviously be Cooter Bigsby. The man has so much moonshine before every game (and well between games as well) that the mouth on that guy is so dirty that no dry clearning can fix it. With how much he mouths off at his own players, not to mention the opponents and the referees for good measure, it would be a pretty regular sight seeing him in the penalty box, after voicing his opinions about opposing defensive ends and defensive tackles to the referee and how he is not protected enough in, well let us say in a too colorful of a tone. Another great candidate that we have to see the penalty box regularly would be our very own Gianis Kroustis and his fiery Greek temper. Kroustis is an amazing guy both in the locker room and on the field and we are very lucky to have him. Sometimes though when he sees injustice or something that just pisses him off, he can let his temper get the best of him and well I would not be surprised to see him spend a few minutes in the penalty box
9) Brotherly Love
Written: We always talk about what teams and players are our rivals. This season, give me what team or player you have a soft spot for.
I know I just went on about how I and the whole Yellowknife team want revenge against Philadelphia as they swept the season series and this player happens to have ties to the front office of the Liberty. In spite of all this, I definitely have a soft spot for ILove Gimmy. To understand it you have to go back all the way to season 17 where we were both picked in the DSFL draft. He was then a tight end, while I played linebacker. During the meetings of Kansas City and Palm Beach (as it was known back then) I would often be charged with making sure he was not able to make any sort of impact on the game and if you look back on the box scores, I think I did pretty well. After his failed weight watcher program and finding himself as defensive end we got even closer as I was also tasked played defensive end for the first few seasons of my NSFL career. It has been really nice training together in the offseason and just sharing tips and tricks on how to become better players. Whenever we travel to Philadelphia, I make sure to meet up with ILove to catch up face to face. As an added bonus on him being an awesome dude is that he is always interested to know about Finland and what life is like there. I can definitely see us take a trip over there in the coming offseason.
