GMs get paid to do the job. If they're not doing it, fine them at least 50% of the pay. If things do not improve, then go with the drastic measures.

While i do understand that not doing draft picks faster or submitting GM bots affect every other GM, we're not talking about them going IA and leaving the team, having people leave the game because of them or the LR being completely dead.

They had plenty of warnings, as well as plenty of opportunities to show that they can do good as a GM. Not having GM BOTS not only hurts simmers, streamers and the stress levels of HO members, but it hurts the Portland Python team the most. They were a pretty major factor on why one of the former best DSFL team currently sits with KC and NOR as cellar dwellers, and why Portland has allowed so many sacks (most teams GM BOTS are OL).

Imagine if an NSFL team didn't have any OL bots, they would be terrible.

While many may argue whether this was the right decision or not, you'd much rather your GM step-down than get fired like has happened in the past. It takes a lot to even go into the realm of firing a GM, since it is hard to find people to take that role and even harder to find people who do it well. HO would never want to remove a GM who was doing a good job, and while it may have looked like they were doing a good job, it's become increasingly clear they missed things constantly. The DSFL needs people to do their jobs properly, or else we get to a time where no one cares about the league and it's barely above water. HO will do what's best for the league, but they also care about the team and the GMs.

I know we've got a lot of young people in this league, but this is a good learning opportunity for how jobs work.

If you have a job, and you consistently miss deadlines, do low quality work, or don't do the work at all, then you will be removed from that job by someone (or a group of someones) with the power to do so.

So not sure firing was the right choice but it's done with now. There's lots of league job people that have slacked in the past seasons, but it's forgivable because we all understand real life is more important. This is a tough one for HO. Lose-lose kind of.

Absolutely, that's a huge part of the job. But, it's not just social hour either. There are things you still have to do in order for us to have a league to sim in. Like submitting a depth chart when asked, and when you do, making sure it doesn't have retired players or players from other teams in it.
