This is a ridiculous question. Why does the leader in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns deserve recognition in this year's NSFL Awards? The real question is, which award should he be getting recognition with, just the wide-receiver of the year or overall offensive player of the year? Let us take a look a the stats. Through twelve games, Mr. Espeeyeeseetee has just three, count them, one, two, three, games with less than five receptions and under 100 yards. That means the other 75% of games? Yup, you guessed it, 5 receptions and 100+ receiving. And to top that off, only four of twelve games went without scoring a TD, and even further, three of the eight that one was scored turned into a multi-score affair. There is consistency, then there's AE consistency. And then you have to look at what he's producing with, the five overall receiver breathing hot down his neck? Incredible. Should he with OPotY? Let's look at the competition: a couple RBs (less yards and scores) and no QB that can distinguish themselves from the pack. Meanwhile, AE is the clear leader in points per touch, and the only reason he's not the scrimmage yards leader is RBs getting fed absurd amounts of volume. Give AE a couple hundred touches and he'd probably break the sim.
In a Pythons season that has not gone as many would have hoped, I would nominate Osiris Firestorm-Fjord (@HalfEatenOnionBagel) for an award given to another player. There admittedly isn’t much to celebrate on the field for most players on the Pythons, but Osiris is currently leading our team in receptions as a tight end, which is great! The main reason that I would nominate Osiris for this award would be for his excellence as a team member off of the field. Losses on the field lead to frustration with yourself, with your teammates, and with your organization. Losing most of your games isn’t a great feeling, and I think that that can cause some tension in the locker room. Osiris has done a great job of being a positive influence on other players in the locker room, consistently getting hype for game days and helping out new players with any questions that they might have. As an entirely new player to sim leagues and the NSFL in general it has been a bit of a rough start into the league for me given the scenario described above. That being said, I think that having mentors like Osiris in the locker room has been a positive influence for myself and others through this troublesome season.
In the immediate core of the Colorado Yeti there are 2 people who do not get much recognition. Ya boi Lazzy (Mainly cause of our bad QB) and our QB, Wolfie McDummy. So instead of berating him for crippling us at EVERY AVAILABLE POSSIBILITY! >
I have decided to spread the love in roughly 200+ words and not just for TPE but because he deserves it. He has been an amazing team mate and his graphics are massively under appreciated considering he is one of the best at doing them. I believe he should in the Laszlo award of sexiness and the NSFL award of "Most okayest player of the season" cause god damn is he one of the nicest dudes in the league. The rest of you really need to step this shit up if you wanna contend vs Wolfie McDummy. Thankfully he is now hitting his prime so he will be pretty good for a while and have a chance to prove himself but god damn would it be nice to add that title since between us we're never getting nominated for any real awards. If we're doing real awards, maybe graphic user of the year? Cause Wolfie would legit win that award hands down. I mean just bloody look at my sig. The dude is insane with graphics. [221 words]
I would like to formally recognize Jeffrey LaVert as a candidate for many awards. Jeffrey is the heart and soul of Myrtle Beach. He's put so much into this league both on and off the field. We love him so much that we even made a "cult" of sorts around him. It was all out of love and appreciation for what he does for the team and the league. He puts in work with the league and is always looking to help in any way he can. He helped get the wiki grading caught up and is now working in graphics grading. Within the locker room, he is always chatting with teammates and guests and plays games on the regular. He is dedicated to this league and it shows.
Jeffrey also has great success on the field. Top 10 in tackles, top 5 in interceptions, and has two fumble recoveries and six passes defended. He gets a lot of flack from the media and everyone claims he has "regressed" in his play. That simply is not true. He is a well rounded player and an amazing person who certainly deserves any and all recognition that he gets from the league. Thank you for what you've done Jeffrey.
The easiest slam dunk of a deserved award has to be RBotY for my main man Torenson. Torenson is leading the league in rushing yards with 1215. Thats good for just over 100 yards per game. Hitting the century mark once in a season is fantastic, but being able to average about the century mark is even better. But Torenson is not just a running back, but can even catch the ball as well. At this moment, Torenson has racked up 200 yards in the receiving game (trust me as a receiver I have definitely noticed him putting in the work during our receiving drills).
Another individual who should be receiving some awards is not on my NSFL but will forever be a brother at heart is Kyle Idelwyld for DRotY. Kyle is not just leading rookies in TFL, but is leading the entire league. Man knows how to get in the backfield and make the other team pay for it. Kyle did not miss a beat coming from the DSFL, where he lead the league in TFLs, to the NSFL, where he is leading the league. Mr.TFL should without a doubt be this years DRotY. Finally, time to make my own case for an award, because we all need some self love. Randy Vuxta has exploded onto the scene the second half of the year and should be in conversation for ORotY. Vuxta has put up over 600 yards and 5 touchdowns as a number two option on a team with the leagues leading rusher. When given the opportunity, Vuxta has put up numbers. As such, he should be a front runner for ORotY. Word Count: 275
I think a few of my teammates deserve recognition. The first that comes to mind is my boy, Mr. 1OA himself. Cal Lidious. On the year he has 173 Completions in 305 attempts with a 56.7% completion rate, the highest for QB’s with more than 100 attempts. On top of that he’s thrown almost 300 yards more than his closest competitor, and while he leads the league in Interceptions he makes up for it with a killer arm. He also has the second longest pass of the year at 45 yards. In my opinion he lived up to the expectations he has, and while he has thrown some interceptions in my head he has more than made up for it and deserved recognition.
Another Teammate I think deserves recognition is my fellow RB Robin Reynolds. Robin has the top rated offensive performance of the league and continues to be a solid contributor on the team. While he and I are not as stat stacked as the top 3 running backs, as a pair we’re the best and he’s a big factor in that. With 873 yards in 194 attacks Robin has shown to be a very reliable contributor on the team and has helped lead our team to victory many times. (212 words)
I think this is long over due but someone who absolutely deserve to get a award is the one and only Alfredo Thight master freaking crisco! Every season it's the same dudes! Fulture this and culture that and Alex. D every damn season but my boy is gonna get it. Longest freaking kick this season and plus he should be considered extra hard for being extra thick. Now let's see some of those sexy stats and compare it to the other so call kicking gods. Alfredo with the 97 percentage of XP, 29 FG made only missing 3 kicks, automatic not missing a single kick from 10 to 40 yards and the most important stat of all a sexy 65 long kick! How do you not look at that and straight up give him the award! Now fulture culture starts for comparison 94 XP percentage, only 15 FG made, only making 14 kicks from 10 to 40 yards. Alex .D could make a case with 25 FG made and he kicked 55 yards long but you know what! That's not a 65 yard kick so just give it to my man crisco. The era of fulture culture will come to a end during this award szn and crown the new kicker elite in kicking and thickness.
Immanuel Blackstone should win DL of the Year in the DSFL this year. There's only one real competitor for this award outside of him and that's Jackmerius Tacktheritrix aka Jack, the Portland Pythons rookie DE out of Michigan State. This season Jackmerius Tacktheritrix has outperformed Blackstone in two major stat categories for defensive lineman. He leads the league with 23 TFL (Blackstone 15 TFL) and has 6 total sacks to Blackstone's 5. However, in my opinion, Blackstone has been the better player this season. Blackstone has 43 tackles, an immense amount for a defensive lineman, and Jackmerius Tacktheritrix only has 35 tackles. Add in the fact that Blackstone has forced two fumbles and recovered another, while Jackmerius Tacktheritrix has yet to be involved with a takeaway and it becomes obvious who the better player is.
Not to mention that Blackstone is the harder worker of the two by far. Week in and week out, you can witness his impeccable work ethic before watching him dominate on the field. Meanwhile, Jackmerius Tacktheritrix has been rather absent recently. Popping in and out of activity and improving his skills at a relatively lackluster rate. In my opinion, Blackstone is the easy choice between the two. Without a doubt.
So I'm not on his team but he's my GM;
__________________________________________ You may have heard the phrase ‘What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?’. But what if the unstoppable force is the immovable object? Bubba Thumper is that force, he is that object. He is the line in the sand that no running back will cross, the castle walls of a fortress that will never be breached. Some pass-rushing specialists operate on the end of the line, becoming a menace on the periphery, a shadow on the edge of the quarterbacks vision. Bubba Thumper is no shadow. Bubba Thumper is the sun. He engulfs all. Game-plans are built with Thumper at the centre, everyone else just orbiting, hoping desperately that they don’t get too close to the sun. Quarterbacks flee when he approaches, seeking safety, and safeties are what they receive. By seeking for the end to be in their own territory, just as those close to death might wish to pass at home, looking for comfort they will fine none. All they will find is the ball handed back to them to go once again into the fray. All they will find is Bubba, who is forever hungry. All they will find is an unstoppable force, an immovable object. Awards will do little to sate his hunger, but they are all you have. So give him DLotY, give him MVP, give him all you have, and hope for now he passes over you and that you may eek out a life somewhere he can't touch, if such a place exists. Also, his stats are pretty good, give him DLotY: 12 sacks, 2 safeties, 44 tackles, 1 TFL
