Nothing is more fun to me than thinking about possible logo ideas and relocation for some reason. There are plenty of different ways to match teams to better themes or find ways to break away from old logos in ways that could be better. However, most teams are stuck in place due to a pesky word known as 'tradition' and sometimes that can hurt the growing ideas inside the creative minds of the league. So to completely annoy everyone and shit on the face of 'tradition', I've decided to move every DSFL team into the one state that everyone usually hates: Georgia. I did my best to get the theme right for every area the teams move to, and keeping a general geographic move as well (i.e. keeping Minnesota and Portland in the North but also keeping Portland west of Minnesota). I wanted to use some unique versions of team names and the logos were more concepts rather than full thought out ones because my artistic talent is a -10
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Dallas Birddogs become the Warner Robins Jets[/div]
Dallas is located in the Southern middle of the US and trying to find a city that fit that location in Georgia wasn't too difficult. Trying to pick a city in the area with a proper theme though was easy to get. Located just around where Google typically puts 'Georgia' on their map, Warner Robins is home to a large air museum and an Air Force Base and so giving them the name the Jets worked perfectly.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Kansas City Coyotes become the Atlanta Phoenix[/div]
As some know, I have always wanted to move the Coyotes into Atlanta. It was an easy move to and with this I can move the team around the heart of the USA into the heart of Georgia. Getting a proper theme for an Atlanta took some time because I wanted to do something more original that rehashing my dream of the failed Atlanta Thrashers, regardless of how cool the logo and team name was. So instead I used the symbol for the city and came up with the Atlanta Phoenix.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] London Royals become the Charlotte Kings[/div]
I tried my best to not meme this response with moving the Royals outside of the state as a fun move. However, it was just too good to pass up and so the London Royals are forced to move into the USA and keep the football league an entirely North American thing. The Royals move into an area that's a distance away while still being a major city. That left me with the idea to move the team into Charlotte, North Carolina and this was one of the only teams I decided to keep the original name but change it slightly. That gave me the idea to use the Kings logo.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Minnesota Grey Ducks become the Dahlonega Gold Rush[/div]
The Gold Rush idea was the first team idea that actually got me to write the entire article. The perfect location for the team had its own gold rush and also provides the gold on top of the Georgia capitol building. So it made perfect sense to get the team and that Minnesota had the perfect location in the US to move into Dahlonega. Dewalt wanted this team to be the Devils for the iconic song, but that comes later for another team down South...
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Myrtle Beach Buccaneers become the St. Mary's Sea Dogs[/div]
Originally I wanted to create an entirely new logo for the Bucs, but the idea of keeping an interesting pirate team within the league is too good. The theme of the Sea Dogs works well for the Georgia coast which was a place for many to come and hide. Myrtle Beach moves down to hide in the Southern coast of Georgia at St. Mary's and unfortunately keeps the same color scheme
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Norfolk Seawolves become the Savannah Ironclads[/div]
Keeping the naval theme, I moved the Seawolves into a major coastal city in Georgia. Savannah was the first city in Georgia and still stands today with some of its original architecture. Norfolk also was an early team and still stands as the only DSFL team without an original logo. The name of the Ironclads comes from the Civil War battleships that operated similar to early submarines that the current Norfolk logo features.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Portland Pythons become the Blue Ridge Mountaineers[/div]
After an almost new logo of the Pythons, it's time to rip the band aid off and go full rebrand. Changing away the snake theme into something that would fit their new location made more sense than having a team in the Georgia mountains named after a snake. So that is how the Blue Ridge Mountaineers were born. The team would remain up in the Northwest but in the state of Georgia instead with a bit more of a unique team name in the league
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Tijuana Luchadores become the Valdosta Devils[/div]
Last but not least, comes the team named after the song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and fits no team better than the Tijuana Luchadores who are the furthest South DSFL and sit in the deep South of Georgia. The reason I used the Devils for Tijuana instead of anyone else was to keep a color scheme that would match the 'devil' name much better with the dark red and green. Valdosta works as the perfect spot as well to match the location of Tijuana in a North America to Georgia switch.
