Introduction
Welcome one and welcome all to the official NSFL S22 Draft Review of Rounds 1-5. Why the first 5 rounds? I’m not gonna sit here and lie and tell you it’s because 5 is a nice number. It’s because I somehow fell to the fifth round and I need to rub it in every team's face about how their pick is bad and they should have picked me instead. I do need a lot of money because of some stupid things that have happened recently. I lost 5 million dollars to Vorsh because he bet that I wouldn’t be drafted in the first three rounds. Seemed like a good bet at the time, but I’m pretty sure he was in a war room or something because that’s just how scummy he would be. I thought no way teams would pass on a top 5 CB like that, but boy was I wrong. Teams apparently took my ‘personality’ into consideration when scouting me. Even though it’s just a persona I put on for the public. Yeah, I admit I do talk a lot of shit, but hey, there’s going to be people who talk smack a lot, but it doesn’t mean you just completely disregard them. Some smack talk makes the league fun and interesting. Without any drama, it’s just boring. I never try and make my smack talk personal. I know a lot of people insult my penis size after I insult their team, which is kind of childish, but hey man, you do you. I never take anything said personally and I hope you guys don’t either. We’re all here to have fun and at the end of the day, that’s what matters. I like to spice things up in my articles and call people out and make people out, but it’s never personal. I know I have said some things to people which could be taken personally, and I apologize, but nobody’s perfect and when we are angry we all say some stuff we regret. This sounds more like an apology than it does a draft review, but don’t you worry, I’m just beefing up that word count to get paid. Also I need money cause I lost some due to a “punishment”. I’ve already said a lot on this, so I’m not going to elaborate on this right now.
It’s very easy to look back on the S22 draft class and give all teams a good grade considering how much depth there was. S22 was the largest draft class in the history of the NSFL, and it caused an expansion for both the DSFL and the NSFL. We may never see another draft class like this one, but you never know. Anything is possible. Another big recruitment push and we could see another class bigger than this one. A lot of the S22 dudes went inactive, but a lot of them are still max earners. Put me in any other class and I’m a top ten prospect, but in this class, I’m much farther down on the list, mainly due to the depth. What I’m going to be trying to do in this review is to give a grade to each pick, and then give a grade to each team at the end. There will be many factors going into each pick, like how much TPE they have, how active they are, how much bank they have, what jobs they have gotten and more. Some picks were steals, some picks were busts. I will be using a very harsh grading scale. I won’t be giving out high grades that often, and C means average, so expect a lot of those. I know a lot of NFL draft reviews seem to use As and Bs a lot, but if everyone got an A, then that’s not very average. Without further ado, let’s jump right in.
Round 1
Pick 1 -
With the first overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Austin Copperheads select… CB Colt Mendoza of the Dallas Birddogs!
TPE at Draft time: 200 TPE
TPE as of now: 387 TPE
Improvement: 187 TPE
It’s funny as I rewatch the draft stream that they only put Colt’s graphic up there for about 2 seconds, and then Bex sarcastically said “Austin took Colt Mendoza at pick number 1. Super shocking”. That was kind of the mood at the time because Mendoza was the consensus number 1 overall pick, but it wasn’t always like this. Mendoza was a nobody during the S21 DSFL draft, and he fell a lot. Only recently had iSteg started to shoot up people’s draft boards. He had started posting these amazing media pieces with in depth and detailed statistical analysis. It took a lot of time and effort to do something like that, and he somehow managed to do it. His large brain and knack for simming made him an easy choice for Austin to pick. His TPE was a concern though as he was only 200 TPE, which wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t first overall material. He even got sent down this season, so that shows you how the team thinks of him right now. He will most likely get called up for S23, but it’s suspect when your first overall pick gets sent down.
Spot grade (Grade I would have given at the time of the draft): A+
Grade as of now: A
iSteg was definitely worth the pick, as he has become a valuable war room member to Austin. He helps with simming and was behind the strategy that carried them out of their 1-4-1 hole all the way to the conference championship. While Colt Mendoza did not have any on field impact, there was plenty of impact behind the scenes.
Pick 2 -
With the second overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the New Orleans Second Line select… DT Magnus Rikiya of the Norfolk Seawolves!
TPE at Draft time: 216 TPE
TPE as of now: 403 TPE
Improvement: 187 TPE
We all know who Tesla is right? I didn’t think NOLA was allowed to draft a robot, but apparently there isn’t anything they wouldn’t do to get ahead of OCO. Jokes aside, Tesla is a beast of an earner, and has improved a lot since the draft. She has a fat bank account, and produces a lot of media. Her infectious personality is so supportive and nice, it just fits perfectly with the NOLA LR. The Norfolk to NOLA popeline is real and everyone knew how much Bex loved Tesla. It was pretty obvious that she was going second overall. But NOLA didn’t just draft her for the personality. Getting a max earning DT was a no brainer, but you can’t help but think whether they should have gotten Phat Boi, someone with about 45 more TPE than Tesla. It seemed liek they had a made a choice based off of feelings, but it ended up paying off, as Magnus Rikiya and Cuco Clemente are the highest earning DTs of their class, both at 403 TPE.
Spot Grade: C+
Grade as of now: A-
The only reason this pick looks good now is because Phat Boi stopped earning as much. It feels weird to give this pick an A minus now, but looking back on it, it did pay off as Tesla earned the TPE and has been a big part of NOLA’s culture. LR culture is a big part of a team’s appeal.
Pick 3 -
With the third overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Philadelphia Liberty select… S Matt Cross of the Norfolk Seawolves!
TPE at Draft time: 220 TPE
TPE as of now: 406 TPE
Improvement: 186 TPE
With the third overall pick, Liberty could do anything they want. The top TPE earner of the class was still available in Phat Boi. Philly did need some help on the DLine, but a lot of people pegged them to go secondary early and target some top cornerbacks and safeties. A lot of people’s mock had Phat Boi going here, but Philly had other plans as they selected Matt Cross with their pick. The son of havoc himself is a great person and I’ve had the pleasure of talking with him. It was really between him and Johnny Hellzapoppin for the top safety. Both were really close, TPE wise, and are still close. Cross has a 3 TPE advantage as of the lat update, but both are still active max earners. It semed like Philly just liked Cross better as a person. They really wanted his personality in the LR. It seems like a pattern with all these teams. There is so much talent that is barely separated by TPE, but the deciding factor that most teams use is the personality factor. Is this prospect going to be a good fit in the LR? Sometimes you have a LR like NOLA which is super nice and supportive but also uptight. Someone like me would not fit well in that LR. More chill LRs like Austin and Arizona are better for me though. People are relaxing and having fun and saying stuff that you may not approve of.
Spot Grade: B
Grade as of now: A-
Could Philly have gone another angle and picked up someone like Stanislaw or Phat Boi? Sure they could have and still got a secondary player with their next pick, but it seemed like they valued secondary, so they reached a bit. I think they could have traded down a few picks, but hey who cares what I think.
Pick 4 -
With the fourth overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Philadelphia Liberty select… CB Brandon Booker of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers!
TPE at Draft time: 218 TPE
TPE as of now: 407 TPE
Improvement: 189 TPE
Brandon fucking Booker. What a beast. This dude is an amazing guy and I’ve talked with him a lot as he’s part of the #DBrotherhood. He fell in the DSFL draft, but he aced predictions and fantasy and quickly rose up in the ranks of TPE and started earning a lot. He became the highest TPE CB during the draft, even though Oles had more TPE, he just forgot to update that week. Philly could have gone Oles, but they wanted Brandon Booker. I don’t blame them, he’s an amazing personality. Another player in the secondary for Philly, who now has a really intimidating young duo with Booker and Cross. These guys are the top 2 defensive backs in terms of TPE as of now. This class was extremely deep in defensive backs, and half of the first round was just defensive backs. I don’t know if it made sense for them to pick 2 defensive backs so high considering how deep the class is, and I don’t see the need to trade up. San Jose might have nabbed Booker at 5, but they could have gotten another top tier CB or S. If they wanted Booker so badly, they could have gotten him at 3 and then Cross or Hellzapoppin at 6. It doesn’t make sense what they did, and there were certainly better routes for them. I’m just saying that I’m going to be nitpicking everything because there are always better options.
Spot Grade: C+
Grade as of now:C+
Sorry Mori, it’s not your fault, I think you should have gone at 3 honestly. Liberty could have nabbed another secondary player at 6 if they didn’t trade up, and they passed on Tyler Oles Jr., who has a fuck ton of TPE.
Pick 5 -
With the fifth overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the San Jose Sabercats select… CB Chester Sweets of the Kansas City Coyotes!
TPE at Draft time: 202 TPE
TPE as of now: 321 TPE
Improvement: 119 TPE
I’m going to try and but away my biases for this draft review, so everything I say about the sabercats isn’t just because I hate them. If I dislike their draft pick, I will say why. It’s nost just from hatred. That being said, I don’t like this pick. Chester Sweets was not mocked as a first round talent, and rightfully so. He was not a top CB by TPE. I don’t know if this was the right pick for the San Jose. I know they were lacking in the secondary, but there were other options. Stackinpaper, Witten, Oles, Avery, Bumper, and even me. And those are just the cornerbacks, No disrespect to Chester Sweets. I know this sounds a lot like I’m disrespecting every single draft pick, but I’m just being as critical as I can of each selection. San Jose definitely reached, and it doesn’t help that Sweets stopped max earning. He’s definitely not as active as he was before, which is a shame because I had a lot of fun talking to him. I loved listening to his podcasts, and we will always be a part of the #DBrotherhood. With that being said, I still thought he should have gone a bit later, and probably to a better team . He deserves that much at least.
Spot Grade: D
Grade as of now: D-
San Jose gets the worst grade out of all teams in the first round, and they manage to fuck up their first round pick in a draft where it seemed like no matter where you go, you couldn’t go wrong.
Pick 6 -
With the sixth overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Arizona Outlaws select… LB Stanislaw Koniecpolski of the Dallas Birddogs!
TPE at Draft time: 246 TPE
TPE as of now: 408 TPE
Improvement: 162 TPE
This is my team, but I also think they made several mistakes in the draft, and I’m going to grade them as harshly as I would any other team. That being said, I do think they got an excellent LB in Stan. Majesu isn’t very active on discord, but he earns a lot. He’s the 2nd highest TPE LB, which is weird because during the draft he was first by around 20 points. He has only earned 162 TPE since then, which is a sign for concern. You would never have expected Derred De Ville to go ahead of Stan because of the gap in TPE, but now it seems like a better choice to go De Ville if we had a re draft. Stan doesn’t offer much more than just a player, but Exi is a valuable war room member and is literally on HO now. Teyon got fired and Exi replaces him. Once Bex gets fired for tampering, Exi will probably become Co-Commish with Dermot. He’s just a guaranteed max earner. But at the time, this seemed like an amazing pick. Stan is still a beast with 408 TPE, which is the 6th highest in the entire class. He’s going to be a key part of Zona’s defense that carries them to an Ultimus.
Spot Grade: A-
Grade as of now: C+
Yes, this pick is getting a pretty average grade, because there were better options, but Stan is still an earning beast. I probably would have looked at user activity on discord and the forums to judge a prospect, and someone as active as Exi should have gotten more consideration as the top LB in the draft.
Pick 7 -
With the seventh overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Honolulu Hahalua select… DT Phat Boi of the Kansas City Coyotes!
TPE at Draft time: 259 TPE
TPE as of now: 343 TPE
Improvement: 84 TPE
The highest earner in the S22 class, the legendary Phat Boi himself. The Hahalua were supposed to get a Chad of an earner, but instead they got the virgin edition. Phat Boi fell of fa cliff pretty quickly and stopped earning that much. He only improved by 84 TPE, but he’s still at 343 TPE. Hahalua could use a DT like that. Did he deserve the first round pick? At the time yes, but he turned out to be a big bust. He wasn’t very active in the discord, and maybe Dwyer and Raven should have taken that as a warning sign, but he was so solid in his earnings in the DSFl, no one could have seen this coming. Honolulu had a lot of needs and could have used this pick on something else or even traded down again, but they decided to choose, at the time, what most people thought as the best player in the draft. It’s a shame he turned out to be a bust, but he can still be good if he starts being active.
Spot Grade: A+
Grade as of now: D
An absolute steal with the 7th pick, we all thought. It turned out to be one of the bigger draft busts in recent memory. But hey man, 343 TPE isn’t bad, and especially not for an expansion team. But there are a lot of better options on the board for a team with many needs.
Pick 8 -
With the eighth overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Colorado Yeti select… DT Mo ‘Mamba’ Magic of the Minnesota Grey Ducks!
TPE at Draft time: 201 TPE
TPE as of now: 372 TPE
Improvement: 171 TPE
TVC is as an amazing dude, who like Steg and Exi, has risen up quickly through the ranks of the NSFL. His player may not have that much TPE, but there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff that he does for his team. I’m sure Colorado took all of this into consideration. TVC is a casino worker along with Steg, and both are doing amazing work over there, robbing people. I assume TVC has a big part in the war room, because that’s just the type of person he is. I do have a concern about his earning, because 372 isn’t that great. It’s still really good, but definitely not first round levels of earning. Regardless, he seems to be a great fit in the LR there and is embracing the Yeti way, which is choking in the playoffs. I’m writing this before the Ultimus and will be too careless to edit this, so I can’t wait for this to bite me in the butt. (Hey, it’s me from the future. 21-3 hehe)
Spot Grade: C
Grade as of now: C+
There was a better option in Cuco Clemente in terms of TPE. They could have definitely traded down and selected him a bit later. I don’t think a lot of teams had a big need for DT, and they definitely could have gotten some value. With that being sai,d TVC is still an amazing due and it was a good pick, but could have been better.
Pick 9 -
With the ninth overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Baltimore Hawks select… LB Derred De Ville of the London Royals!
TPE at Draft time: 229 TPE
TPE as of now: 412 TPE
Improvement: 183 TPE
Going over the draft picks and seeing all the teams’ picks and how they have evolved since last season, it really made me appreciate a couple of teams’ drafts. Some teams had really good hauls, and some teams didn’t. The Hawks are one of those teams that had a really good draft. It all started with their first round pick, with Derred De Ville, the S21 DSFL DPoY. His stats are just as good as his attributes, as he is the highest TPE defensive player in the S22 class. Considering only defensive players have been chosen so far, that’s a big thing. Baltimore has cause for celebration as they pick up the best prospect in the S22 class, in my eyes. Exilizier is an excellent person who is literally the heir to Bex. He’s such a hard worker and is destined for great things in this league. He also has the TPE to back that up. A lot of the high TPE dudes are just strictly earners and don’t have a league job. Exi is a combination of everything you want in a prospect.
Spot Grade: A-
Grade as of now: A+
Possibly the second biggest steal of the night, right behind Arizona drafting Zamir. He was just a beast back then, and after he overtook Stan and literally everyone else in TPE, it was a no brainer to give this selection the best possible grade I could give.
Pick 10 -
With the tenth overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Orange Country Otters select… TE Jeffrey Phillips of the Dallas Birddogs!
TPE at Draft time: 247 TPE
TPE as of now: 435 TPE
Improvement: 188 TPE
Ever wonder why OCO is always so good? It’s because of big brain picks like this. OCO had a big need at TE, and they filled it with a generational talent in Jeffrey Phillips. This dude was what Stanislaw was supposed to do, continue to max earn and lead the class in TPE. DrunkenTeddy isn’t very active on discord, but he is earning like a beast. He’s 2 TPe behind the top earner, Colby Jack. After that, there is a 21 TPE drop off. He is in the elite category of prospects and is a complete beast. OCO couldn’t have screwed up going with him, and I’m glad they addressed this need early. They could have ended up going with Gucci’s player to fill their need at RB, but I’m glad they didn’t because Ke?oke?o K?ne-Maika?i is a big bust. Also fuck you for changing your name. I hate these unpronounceable names.
Spot Grade: A
Grade as of now: A
Back to back A’s, and both these teams deserve it. They got amazing players and great value with late 1st round picks. Jeffrey Phillips is going to be a staple of that team for a while. Would get an A+ but 21-3
Pick 11 -
With the eleventh overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Yellowknife Wraiths select… S Johnny Hellzapoppin of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers!
TPE at Draft time: 215 TPE
TPE as of now: 403 TPE
Improvement: 188 TPE
Johnny Hellzapoppin was mocked to go very early, at pick #4 to Arizona. I would have been fine with this honestly, because Arizona needs a safety, but they got one later in the draft. Colabear is an cool guy and he’s on the sim team already. When I first started talking with him, I deadass thought he was a recreate because of his league job and how knowledgeable he was. He also has a lot of TPE and he improved a lot. This was a no brainer pick for YKW, who needed a safety. They just got lucky that he fell all the way to 11. Hellzapoppin is such a sweet name too. I do think that YKW could have traded down and gotten another safety a bit later. There are a couple good safeties after Hellzapoppin, but I wouldn’t have passed on the value and personality he brings into an LR.
Spot Grade: B
Grade as of now: B+
Another really solid pick. Most teams will get a good grade if they aren’t stupid and don’t mess up. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work out that way and some teams draft complete busts.
Pick 12 -
With the twelfth overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the New Orleans Second Line select… CB Andrew Witten of the Tijuana Luchadores!
TPE at Draft time: 205 TPE
TPE as of now: 394 TPE
Improvement: 189 TPE
This is one of the most unexpected picks that happened in the draft, and definitely the most unexpected pick in the first round. A lot of people has mocked Slothisberger to NOLA with this pick. It seemed kind of unfair the ultimus winner had so many picked early on. But they wasted them so it doesn’t matter. Just kidding. Andrew Witten as a player didn’t have as much TPE as other CBs, and I don’t know if going to mith was the best choice. Don’t get me wrong, mith is a smart dude who did a lot of analysis like steg. He was kind of like if Steg had a baby. That would be mith. He hasn’t been doing as much stuff now, but he has been earning a lot. I’m sure he is doing some behind the scenes stuff with NOLA in that war room. He seems like someone who can be very valuable in the technical side of things and can help the team with strats and such. He was like NOLA’s discount version of steg, which is no shot to you mith lol you have all my respect. The opportunity for these jokes don’t come up much and I have to flame as many people as I can within my article. I’m Zamir. This pick could have definitely been a better corner like Oles, but the NOLA GMs don't like bringing anyone that isn’t a robot on the team.
Spot Grade: C-
Grade as of now: C
I bumped it up to a C because it’s an ok pick. Not first round level of TPE earning, but still an active max earner who can provide valuable assistance i nthe war room. I just think there’s a lot of talent here in other positions and better CBs on the board.
Round 2
Pick 1 -
With the 13th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Honolulu Hahalua select… RB White Goodman of the Dallas Birddogs!
TPE at Draft time: 246 TPE
TPE as of now: 390 TPE
Improvement: 144 TPE
The Hahalua have their second pick in this draft, and unlike the Sailfish, they are actually drafting players. They get an extremely talented RB in White Goodman, Gucci’s player. Gucci is pretty gucci if you ask me. He founded the Birddogs and is an active member who you know will be a max earner. This was a pretty safe pick for the hahalua. Considering they had a big bust in Phat Boi, this pick really helps them out. Gucci hasn’t updated, which is why his imporvement is only 144. He’s probably at around ~420 (nice), maybe more. As one of the top earning recreates in this class, he had top 5 TPE, but he fell all the way here because RB always falls. Unless you’re Ashley Owens, you won’t get drafted that high as an RB. There’s usually just so much depth at that position that it doesn’t make sense wasting a really high pick on it. I like this pick a lot and at the time, it seemed like Honolulu was getting 2 really high earners with their first two picks.
Spot grade (Grade I would have given at the time of the draft): B+
Grade as of now: A-
Solid piece in the backfield to build around. I just don’t like that he changed the name. Honolulu weird like that. Dwyer brainwashed everyone with his propaganda.
Pick 2 -
With the 14th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Colorado Yeti select… CB Thubba Bumper of the Norfolk Seawolves!
TPE at Draft time: 212 TPE
TPE as of now: 310 TPE
Improvement: 98 TPE
Bauer done messed up. The Yeti wasted their second round pick on a low earning CB who wasn’t very active. I know Bauer has had success in the past, but for this player it seems like he’s going IA. He just came back in the NSFL discord recently, so that is a good sign. I don’t really know what Yeti was thinking, actually I do. I believe Bauer’s previous player went to the Yeti, but I don’t really see the need to waste a second rounder on him, when he wasn’t even that high in TPE. He was definitely going to fall to the third round, and they could have picked him there. Or they could have picked a better CB. Even I had more TPE than Bauer. His inactivity should have been a warning sign. He’s only sent 107 messages in the main discord, and is a PBE guy at heart from what I can see.
Spot Grade: D+
Grade as of now: D-
Just a terrible pick and it doesn’t help that he went IA. The Yeti are not having a good draft, but obviously they don’t care cause they just went and won an Ultimus.
Pick 3 -
With the 15th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Arizona Outlaws select… TE Heath Evans of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers!
TPE at Draft time: 212 TPE
TPE as of now: 403 TPE
Improvement: 191 TPE
Feeler is a great guy and a really nice dude. He made some nice graphics and was considered the number 2 TE behind Jeffrey Phillips. Arizona had a big hole at TE, and with back to back picks, they picked up the second best available TE. Feeler is a great personality in the LR and I like what he brings to the team. Is this a bit high for selecting a TE though? The drop off at talent after Jeffrey Phillips was definitely visible, but Evans has improved a lot since the draft and is a clear cut No. 2 tight end in the S22 draft class. The only concern I’d have is that he was drafted a bit too high? There was no need for TE from any other team ,and they could have picked him up in the third round. He’s a great locker room presence and a nice person. I’m glad he came to the Outlaws.
Spot Grade: B-
Grade as of now: B
He’s been a max earner and a great pick. Arizona filled a major hole here at TE.
Pick 4 -
With the 16th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Arizona Outlaws select… CB Tyler Oles Jr. of the Portland Pythons!
TPE at Draft time: 215 TPE
TPE as of now: 387 TPE
Improvement: 182 TPE
Before the draft, a lot of people pegged Oles to be a first rounder. He certainly had the TPE to do it. If you look at the TPE counts I included, you’re going to get thrown off. He hadn;t updated the week before the draft last season and he hadn’t done it this season either. That’s not a sign of inactivity though. Oles is a league vet who’s been around forever. He just doesn’t update as much, but he still max earns. I would say he’s probably at around 420 if he updated. Probably more honestly. That’s a really high TPE count, and that makes him the highest TPE cornerback, despite being the 4th CB taken. I guess teams didn’t want him because he was “controversial” after the situation in Chicago. I don’t know why anyone would pass on him, but these teams are too scared to take a risk. Arizona took many risks and drafted two “controversial” players and it turned out just fine for them. This pick is an absolute highway robbery. Oles should not have fallen this far.
Spot Grade: A
Grade as of now: A
It’s always a great pick when you get a steal like this. Absolute monster in earning TPE and he’s guaranteed to be a max earner essentially.
Pick 5 -
With the 17th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the New Orleans Second Line select… QB Ben Slothisberger of the Tijuana Luchadores!
TPE at Draft time: 203 TPE
TPE as of now: 396 TPE
Improvement: 193 TPE
NOLA obviously likes to pick players based off of their special logic. They don’t draft based on TPE, but rather who they like. It’s a very specific category, but it obviously works for them, because they just won the Ultimus a season ago. Don’t worry NOLA, I’m not going to flame your drafting method, even though it is a tad bit questionable. There was another Tijuana QB who actually had more TPE than Slothisberger, but they opted to go for the sloth man himself. NOLA loves him, and he’s a pretty good earner. They obviously see him as their future, and he’ll soon take over for Stan Fransisco. Jim Waters on the other hand? No one knows what’s going to happen to him, but he’s going to be a maxed out QB sitting on a team’s bench one day. Of course, I don’t know if any other team wanted to pick Slothisberger, and I don’t know if he warranted a mid second round pick. He had pretty low TPE, and wasn’t an appealing prospect compared to other QBs, so he was definitely going to fall.
Spot Grade: D
Grade as of now: D
There’s just no need to waste a pick on him when you could have gotten him later in the draft. They could have gotten a really good player with this pick that would have been gone next round. Some solid talent still left, especially at DL.
Pick 6 -
With the 18th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Philadelphia Liberty select… S Wesley Eriksen of the Norfolk Seawolves!
TPE at Draft time: 200 TPE
TPE as of now: 373 TPE
Improvement: 173 TPE
Philly seems to value personality and LR fit a lot more than I thought. They are almost like NOLA. Obviously, they needed some secondary help, so they wanted another safety as insurance. I can’t blame them. There were still some solid prospects on the board here, Buck Thornton, Quinn Hughes. They also needed DL help, and Troen Egghands was somehow still here. He was mocked to go in the first round on a lot of people’s mocks, so you would think Philly would jump at the opportunity after drafting 2 really good secondary players, right? Apparently not. They get the user Lightnoir in their team, and he’s not exactly a max earner, but he’s still really good. I think they could have gone another route, as there was still really good talent. Even I was on the board here, and I thought Philly loved me. I mocked my self to go there in the first round, but I thought surely they would pick me up later if no one else did. I guess they thought differently, but I got a very strong vibe from them that I was landing there. Philly is a team where I haven’t ruined my relationship with them, so that’s nice. I do think they will be contenders in a couple of seasons, just like Zona. They had a nice draft, but not that nice.

There was just more talent available here with the 18th pick. There were a lot of good players still on the board, and I think they could have gotten a solid max earner.

With the 19th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Austin Copperheads select… DE Troen Egghands of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers!
TPE at Draft time: 221 TPE
TPE as of now: 407 TPE

Troen is just such a beast at earning TPE and was the top DE of the class during the draft. He still is now, and he’s surpassed Phat Boi as the top defensive lineman of the S22 class, which is a big feat. Like I said previously, a lot of mocks had him going in the first round, so it’s pretty crazy he fell all the way to 19. Austin has a big hole at DE, and they got a stud to lineup opposite from Kyle Idlewyld. During the draft stream, JKort said he was surprised that Troen fell to them, and a lot of people felt that way too. They took the best player available, and it paid off well for them. I don’t know how much Troen is contributing in the locker room, but he’s an awesome defensive lineman who will be a key part of their defense in seasons to come.
Spot Grade: A
Grade as of now: A+
You can’t go wrong picking a stud like this. Max earning DEs are very hard to find, and the average TPE at DE in the NSFL is the lowest out of all positions. The fact that they have two max earning DEs is crazy.
Pick 8 -
With the 20th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Sarasota Sailfish select… DT Octavio ‘Cuco’ Clemente of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers!
TPE at Draft time: 216 TPE
TPE as of now: 403 TPE
Improvement: 187 TPE
Cuco Clemente has really come into his own as the top defensive tackle, along with Magnus Rikiya. Billybolo is a great user who managed a twitter account for rumors and leaks which was actually quite exciting. I’m disappointed to see the account die down. Those kinds of things make the league that much more fun. He’s interviewed me on several occasions and pumps out a good share of media. I think he found his home in Sarasota and I’m happy for him. The Buccaneers to Sarasota transition is a common one because of the association Frost has with both teams. I feel bad for him because he has to go through the abuse Frost gives to him for many seasons. This is a solid pick, and there wasn’t much defensive tackle talent after this, so getting a solid starter on the DL is always important.
Spot Grade: B+

Solid DL players are always hard to find, and a max earner like this is very valuable to an expansion team. I’m sure he’s a great fit in the LR and does some behind the scenes stuff too.

Improvement: 170 TPE
As much as I like OCO’s drafts usually, this was a pick that left me dumbfounded. No disrespect to you Edd, you know I love you, but you’re just not a max earner and worth a second round pick. If OCO wanted help on the DL, they could have picked up Sandro Ryeu or Deshun Jones. Oh wait, they did pick u pdEshun Jones in the next round, which made no sense. He’s almost 40 TPE ahead of Edd, and it didn’t make sense to waste this pick when there was so much more talent available. Psst, DEs can play at DT . There were a lot of things the GMs could have done here, but they must have really liked Edd’s memes or something.
Spot Grade: D
Grade as of now: D-
If Edd had started to max earn, maybe this would have gotten a better grade, but the fact that he left the NSFL discord and said he will be less active is not a good sign for OCO. Maybe they counted his rampant shitposting as a sign of activity, but this was just a bust.

The founder of the #DBrotherhood himself, who ironically won DBotY in the DSFL his rookie season. Which I should have won but GMs suck lol. No disrespect to Buck, he’s an awesome dude who actually understands my persona and stuff. He finds all the stuff I do hilarious instead of getting pissed, which is something I really appreciate. I would have liked to land on the same team as him, but unfortunately Dwyer whisked him away to a team where he will be stuck in an abusive relationship. I’m sure Dwyer is preaching the principles of love and passion that he learned from Arizona, so Honolulu is probably a really fun place to play. A solid earner and a really good safety.

TPE at Draft time: 207 TPE

The QB turned LB? I think. I’m pretty sure he was a QB. Let me check on the discord. Saba thinks it’s QB, but he’s always wrong. I’m just going to say QB for now. Yeah, it’s QB. No surprise here. QB is an oversaturated position, so I would expect some people to switch. LB was a pretty weak position if I’m being honest, especially after Stanislaw and Derred. This was a good switch that will make his career a much better one. He probably wasn’t going to see any playing time as a QB for awhile. He can now be an instant contributor on an expansion team. That’s always really helpful. 207 TPE wasn’t that great at the time, but it was 3rd round material for a team desperate at linebacker. I do think there were better players, and an expansion team always needs players on defense. There’s no way you fill all your defensive holes in an expansion draft. furiouspanda is working his way up the NSFL hierarchy and is the head of recruiting, I believe. Or he has a major role involved with recruiting. Whatever it is, you love to see it. He's going to be a max earner for a while. With that being said, there are probably better players, but this is also a really good pick.

With the 27th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Baltimore Hawks select… CB Eldrick Avery of the London Royals!
TPE at Draft time: 215 TPE
TPE as of now: 402 TPE
Improvement: 187 TPE
Not much was known about Eldrick Avery going into the S21 DSFL draft. He wasn't very active on discord, and I don't even think I've ever seen him on the discord. Like I've said previously, I would have taken this as a massive warning sign. Baltimore really didn't seem to care, because Avery was earning really well. This was a risk, and I honestly thought that he would fall because of this. He must have had a really good session with Baltimore's scouts. He must have convinced them that he was going to continue to max earn. I think this was ultimately a steal, especially in the third round to get a guy with this high TPE. Considering how many CBs were taken above him, this is a big win for Baltimore. They continue the trend of amazing drafting. Like seriously, props to the GMs of Baltimore for this amazing draft. That means a lot coming from me, considering I usually only shit on teams for making bad picks.
Spot Grade: B+
Grade as of now: A
It's always a great pick when you can get max earners in the 3rd round. Especially at a position like cornerback. Amazing scouting job done by Baltimore, showing that scouting does actually help a lot. Seems to be there are a lot of hidden factors going into draft placement.
Pick 4 -
With the 28th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Arizona Outlaws select… DE Sandro Ryeu of the London Royals!
TPE at Draft time: 211 TPE
TPE as of now: 398 TPE
Improvement: 187 TPE
I didn't know much about Sandro Ryeu, but I've come to know him after being with him for a whole season. I know he screwed over some people in fantasy . That's always nice. He has a lot of TPE for a DE at 398, and like I said before, max earning DEs are very valuable. They are the most undersaturated position in the league right now. As I explained before, they have the worst TPE average out of all positions except special teams. Arizona is currently stacked at defensive line, and I don't know if this was a necessary pick considering they got Slinky Claxton with a later pick and then traded him after a season. Since they picked this first, I understand, cause this was the last max earning DE on the board. I think the Slinky pick was a bad one, so I'm definitely going to trash that one. I think there was still some better talent on the board, like Deshun Jones was somehow here, and he's over 400 TPE now. There is also James Cho, a complete beast with over 400 TPE, and he’s a DE, not a DT like Deshun Jones. Maybe uni just really liked s4ndrop, but James Cho should have been picked here.
Spot Grade: C-
Grade as of now: D+
You could have gotten James Cho, a player with more TPE. You might be thinking, oh the difference is only 10 TPE, it barely matters. But this is what separates prospects. If there is a better player available, I’m going to be calling out the team.
Pick 5 -

Russss. He’s an honorary member of the #DBrotherhood, and I’ve had the pleasure of talking with him frequently. He’s a really nice dude and will be a great addition to the toxic SJS LR. Hopefully they don’t convert him into a brain dead, propaganda spewing machine. I’m praying for you brother. He was only 199 TPE at the draft, which wasn’t that great. There were some amazing defensive players still on the board, and SJS must seem to really like reaching for players or something. It’s very confusing. I don’t know their draft method, but it obviously hasn’t been working for them these past couple seasons. They did need a LB, and they filled a hole with this pick. Not many great LBs left on the board, so it was understandable, but they probably could have traded down and gotten more value for this pick if they were dead set on drafting a LB.

You know how I just flamed SJS for drafting a low TPE guy and reaching, well, I would have definitely done the same for this pick, except Isidore became the Co-GM of the outlaws. Uni basically drafted a GM with this pick, and that’s why I can’t really give this that bad of a grade. Getting a good, capable GM (just kidding he sucks lol and is holding us hostage please help) with any pick is always worth it. Getting more than just a player is always helpful, and when that player becomes a valuable simmer and GM, that’s great. He is kind of lacking on TPE, I don’t know what he’s been doing. Not much else to say here except it was a good pick.

TPE at Draft time: 195 TPE
TPE as of now: 399 TPE
Improvement: 204 TPE
JEETA!!! I’m surprised he fell this far, even though he was low TPE, I think he forgot to update or put something in his update or something, because he improved a lot. 204 improvement is a crap ton. I’ve always been a fan of QuirkyTurtle and I’ve always thought of him as the number 1 WR in the class, even though he hadn’t accumulated as much TPE on paper at draft time. Considering someone with 20 more TPE was selected right after him, it almost seemed embarrassing for the copperheads, but they apparently really liked him, and I’m glad he landed in a really good place. Austin is a great team. :eyes:. Jeeta gained a lot more TPE and surpassed Lim, making this pick look a lot better. He’s going to be a great WR on a team that desperately needed help at that position. Net sucks so much and can’t catch for shit it’s hilarious. Dermot probably has more catches than Net this season. Jesus Christ Net is so bad.

We see the biggest improvement in draft grades as of yet, because Jeeta decided to prove us all wrong and earn like a fucking beast.

TPE at Draft time: 216 TPE
TPE as of now: 396 TPE
Improvement: 180 TPE
This pick goes hand in hand with the last one, and I honestly thought this was one of the biggest steals of the draft. 216 TPE falling to late third round? Only in the S22 class would this happen. Unfortunately, he didn’t earn as much as Jeeta, which is why this pick’s value kind of went down, even though it was still an excellent pick, considering some of the players chosen after him. Yonggarius has been pushing out some really good media, and that’s always a good sign for a prospect. I know a lot of people had him as the #1 WR on the board, so the fact that he fell all the way down here is amazing. Of course, the funny thing is the highest TPE WR in the class hasn’t even been drafted yet, so shame on both of these teams for passing on Witheblock. The thing is, all of these guys are so good, and they are like 2nd round talent, so they are all steals IMO. Maybe I’m just being extremely generous, but I think this pick was really good one, especially at the time.

TPE at Draft time: 212 TPE
TPE as of now: 368 TPE
Improvement: 156 TPE
Byron Dolls was extremely high TPE for a OL, and was presumed to be the first OL off the board. And of course, he was a Python. That’s always nice. The Pythons drafted a lot of good OL, and they were a major part of our success. I’m glad he was on my team. He was an active user in the DSFL, but it seems like he’s not earning like he used to. Unfortunate, but this isn’t a surprise. OL retention rate isn’t that high, and it’s a league wide problem. The position doesn’t have much incentive to play, so kudos to all of these lads for volunteering to choose this profession. That being said, He’s still the second best OL in terms of TPE in this class, I believe (can we get a fact check?). So not bad value, but the Hawks make their worst pick so far. This was a good pick at the time, but the lack of improvement in TPE is scary. You want that number to be much higher, or else it can’t be a good grade.

I don’t know, but this pick and the next pick are just absolute steals. I have no idea what OCO was doing picking Big Edd so early and passing on Deshun Jones, but they rectified their mistake and picked Deshun Jones anyways. Alright cool. This pick was an absolute steal, but the Big Edd pick was an absolute bust. FortyJordy is a nice guy who was a valuable member of Dallas’ war room, so I’m sure he’s providing a lot of assistance behind the scenes too. Being on OCO is always fun cause you win a lot. Can’t relate… . This guy will be a valuable member of the team in seasons to come. I like this pick a lot, and getting a 400 TPE dude this late, especially at a position like DT, that’s just highway robbery.

I really wish Arizona nabbed this guy when they could. He’s just a beast of an earner and I have no fucking idea how he fell this far. He’s Troen Egghands level talent, and he fell this far. I have no idea how this happened, but he must not have branded himself that much. He was a quiet prospect, which could have scared some teams away, but he earns better than Troen. Him and Egghands and going to be absolute beasts at an undersaturated position. Who dis? Is what I was asking myself during the livestream. Never heard of this dude in my life honestly. No, I’m just kidding, and I actually saw him a bit on the discord, and I’m sure he’s just a smart dude that stays away from the cesspool that is NSFL general. Good on him. He’s a beast of an earner too, and I don’t know what it is with these late third round picks, but they are all excellent value. Frost finally does something right for once in his life. Surprising. But RD probably made this pick. Frost doesn’t have the IQ to do this kind of stuff tbh. I feel bad for Witheblock because now he had to play under an abusive GM, Frost. I’m sure Frost is bullying his players with all of his custom emojis he has from Nitro. Smhing my head. But enough about Frost. This was a really good pick, and this player leads all of the WRs in his class, TPE-wise.

TPE at Draft time: 199 TPE

Shawn Dawkins, a teammate of mine, number 82 himself. He doesn’t have the most TPE, but he still max earns. It’s always fun to find a max earning safety in the fourth round. He’s a great locker room personality too, and I’m glad he was with me in the DSFL. It’s unfortunate he had to go to Dwyer, who we all know is an abusive GM. But at least he preaches the principles of Arizona, which is love and passion, so I know he’s taking the fearsome foursome to another level. As a wise man once said: “We’re just kissing, it’s not like we’re getting married or anything.” 186 TPE imporvement is a lot, and that qualifies for max earning status. A very good pick considering the players that came after, but there were still two quality CBs left, Stackinpaper and I. If Honolulu wanted players to beef up their secondary, there were choices there.

TPE at Draft time: 196 TPE
TPE as of now: 365 TPE

The 69th pick in the DSFL draft goes a bit earlier, as his talents as a LB were actually needed. LB wasn’t as deep as cornerback, so you’re going to see lower TPE players picked before better higher TPE CBs. Sarasota needed a LB, and they got one. He’s a good earner, not a max earner, but still a solid piece on that team. I know they are happy with their selection, but I’m still here. Now we’re starting to get into that part of the draft where the talent selected in these picks is nothing compared to me. I originally started this article to write like this and flame every team for passing on me numerous times, but I probably was like third round talent anyways. But I shouldn’t have fallen this far, so expect every team to get poor draft grades. You could have had a pro bowl rookie, but you chose a non max earning LB. Well done Frost. I bet you made this pick instead of RD. And it shows...

Could Philly have gone another angle and picked up someone like Stanislaw or Phat Boi? Sure they could have and still got a secondary player with their next pick, but it seemed like they valued secondary, so they reached a bit. I think they could have traded down a few picks, but hey who cares what I think.

With the fourth overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Philadelphia Liberty select… CB Brandon Booker of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers!
TPE at Draft time: 218 TPE

An absolute steal with the 7th pick, we all thought. It turned out to be one of the bigger draft busts in recent memory. But hey man, 343 TPE isn’t bad, and especially not for an expansion team. But there are a lot of better options on the board for a team with many needs.
Pick 8 -

TPE at Draft time: 201 TPE

21-3 hehe)

Possibly the second biggest steal of the night, right behind Arizona drafting Zamir. He was just a beast back then, and after he overtook Stan and literally everyone else in TPE, it was a no brainer to give this selection the best possible grade I could give.

TPE at Draft time: 247 TPE

TPE at Draft time: 212 TPE

I think taking up a job always helps boost someone’s stock and you love to see your rookies becoming involved in the league. That’s something I would look for as a GM.
Pick 3 -
With the 27th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Baltimore Hawks select… CB Eldrick Avery of the London Royals!
Pick 5 -
With the 29th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the San Jose Sabercats select… LB Lawrence Bass of the Minnesota Grey Ducks!
TPE at Draft time: 199 TPE
TPE as of now: 384 TPE
Improvement: 185 TPE

Just an ok pick honestly, but there were better things they could have done.
Pick 6 -
With the 30th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Arizona Outlaws select… S Quinn Hughes of the London Royals!
TPE at Draft time: 209 TPE
TPE as of now: 375 TPE
Improvement: 166 TPE

Because he became a GM, I’m bumping up that grade an entire letter. No bias at all. (Cue sux lmap)
Pick 7 -
With the 31st overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Austin Copperheads select… WR Eddie Jeeta of the Kansas City Coyotes!
Spot Grade: D

We see the biggest improvement in draft grades as of yet, because Jeeta decided to prove us all wrong and earn like a fucking beast.
Pick 8 -
With the 32nd overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Colorado Yeti select… WR William Lim of the Minnesota Grey Ducks!
Spot Grade: A-

Only went down in value because of how much TPE Witheblock started earning.
Pick 9 -
With the 33rd overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Baltimore Hawks select… OL Byron Dolls of the Portland Pythons!

With the 34th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Orange Country Otters select… DT Deshun Jones of the Dallas Birddogs!
TPE at Draft time: 212 TPE
TPE as of now: 401 TPE
Improvement: 189 TPE

Yeah, I’m really high on this pick and the next one. OCO and YKW show why they are always good. They draft well. SJS sucks lol, and I can see why.

With the 35th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Yellowknife Wraiths select… DE James Cho of the Dallas Birddogs!
TPE at Draft time: 217 TPE
TPE as of now: 409 TPE
Improvement: 192 TPE
I really wish Arizona nabbed this guy when they could. He’s just a beast of an earner and I have no fucking idea how he fell this far. He’s Troen Egghands level talent, and he fell this far. I have no idea how this happened, but he must not have branded himself that much. He was a quiet prospect, which could have scared some teams away, but he earns better than Troen. Him and Egghands and going to be absolute beasts at an undersaturated position. I can’t stop saying how amazing this pick in, and it’s probably sounding redundant at this point, but I’m trying to get as many words as possible in here.

We see the elusive A+ draft grade, (the third one so far, 2 given to DE picks, see the trend?) given out to YKW. Spoiler: there will be another A+ grade, and the prospect’s name starts with Zamir. Lol
Pick 12 -
With the 36th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Sarasota Sailfish select… WR Michael Witheblock of the Kansas city Coyotes!
TPE at Draft time: 214 TPE
TPE as of now: 405 TPE
Improvement: 191 TPE

Amazing pick, and this is the last good pick for a while, TPE wise. The top tier talent has all been snatched up at this point, except for me. The next time we see someone with at last 390 TPE will be in 9 picks.
Round 4
Pick 1 -
With the 37th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Honolulu Hahalua select… S Shawn Dawkins of the Portland Pythons!
TPE at Draft time: 199 TPE
TPE as of now: 385 TPE
Improvement: 186 TPE
Spot grade (Grade I would have given at the time of the draft): C

I mean I couldn’t give this pick a good grade considering there was a really good CB still on the board. Well, there were 2 actually. And no disrespect to 82, he’s he’s closing the gap between himself and I.
Pick 2 -
With the 38th overall selection in the S22 NSFL draft, the Sarasota Sailfish select… LB Fawn Dillmiballs of the Kansas City Coyotes!
TPE at Draft time: 196 TPE
TPE as of now: 365 TPE
Improvement: 169 TPE
