My expansion franchise would be located in the Meridiani Planum, a plain on Mars. The Meridiani Planum is located just south of the equator, where temperatures reach a high of around 95F in summer. This makes the plain one of the few regions on Mars warm enough to play football. The Martians would have many advantages over their opponents. Travelling to and from games would make the Martians well-accustomed to space travel, but most NSFL players have never even been to space, let alone travelled to Mars. This unfamiliarity, as well as the fact that the air on Mars is only about 0.15% oxygen, would cause many NSFL players to be extremely disorientated. I'd expect the Martians to win all eight of their home games each season, and when your floor is 8-8 you stand a great chance of making the playoffs. Just a couple of away victories would see the boys from Meridiani Planum make the postseason, and home field advantage in the playoffs could help the Martians over the line and secure them an Ultimus. The NSFL somewhat resembles the NFL, its real-life counterpart. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is always looking to increase the global reach of the NFL, but never thinks big enough. Fans in Europe or Asia can watch the NFL, but fans on Mars can't because NFL Network isn't available on Mars. The lack of an established exchange rate between Martian currency and Earth currency could limit the NSFL's commercial success on Mars, but that's a barrier the NSFL can help to tear down. With the talk of an expansion team being created I believe Seattle deserves the spotlight. Seattle is hands down has the number 1 sports fan no matter how I see it. Seattle already caters many national sports teams like the Mariners, Seahawks, Sounders, and a new hockey team. So why not bring the NSFL to Seattle? The stadium is already built and the Seahawks and the expansion team could easily share Century link field, and if that doesn’t fly with the NFL then the expansion team could easily move up to Everett and build a new stadium there since there is plenty of room. Bringing another football team would be amazing because the fan base is already there. Do you know any other fan base that can create an earthquake with just their sheer voices? Well Beastquake happened and I don’t see why that couldn’t happen again with a NSFL team in Seattle. As of right now there are no NSFL teams in the Pacific northwest. There is however a DSFL team down in Portland and that is a great start. If we could continue this progress and bring a actual NSFL team it would be greatly appreciated by the city and the people of Seattle. The climate is amazing and often the temperature ranging from 65-80 degrees. Yes it does rain here so often but not as often as media make it seem like. The food is also amazing since there is a melting bucket of culture here. In literally a few minutes (less then five) you could get Thai or even Mexican. There choices are so vast when it comes to food and that alone should be good enough to bring a NSFL team up to Seattle.

While most people talk about potential expansion destinations inside North America or Europe, I'm going to be a bit far fetched and put in an expansion claim for my home country of South Korea. While American football is not a currently popular sport in Korea, there's a great market potential for the sport as there is a huge niche for a sports league since there's no popular league other than a baseball league, and Koreans always give a lot of attention to new and flashy things- a category that a new team in already established football league more than satisfies. Also, Seoul, Korea's capital and largest city, will make a great market background as it got more than 10 million population in the city, and another 10 million in the larger metropolitan area.
As for the Branding, I think the Archers will be most appropriate name for the Korea based team. Korea is renowned for producing great archers throughout its history, something that continues until present day in form of high performing Olympic archers. Archery is also deeply embedded in Korean tradition and society and Korean people pride in it. So, the team branding 'archers' will be a great representation of Korean tradition and pride, while providing an original and creative branding to the league as a whole. (218)

Expansion teams are always an exciting thing when it comes to sports. It creates a ton of hype, and the reveal is always exciting because people love fresh logos, fresh uniforms, and spicing up the sports world with added competition. If I ever got the pleasure of being a GM of a brand new expansion team and I got to design everything from the ground up, I would definitely pick a city that I know would generate copious amounts of hype and a lot of revenue: San Antonio. Texas is a HUGE football state and already having a team in both Austin and Dallas would definitely kick off a rivalry to get the state riled up. We already know that the Spurs generate a bunch of money every year because of how dedicated the fans are, Texas is also a top three football state. From pee-wee, to college, all the way to the pros, the Texans LOVE their football. Introducing another team into the mix would create a new rivalry with Austin, and another hometown team for Dallas, which in return creates even more excitement for the NSFL because everyone would want to tune into the Battle for the Alamo (the name of the rivalry that I just made up). For the team branding aspect, they would be called the "San Antonio Stallions" and have a powder/light blue primary color with a silver secondary and black tertiary color. This would help offset the gray and red from the Austin Copperheads, and I think that the three colors would look fantastic on uniforms.
Code: 218 Words If I was in charge of creating an expansion franchise, I’d put it in the best location in the world: Long Island. When you think of passionate fans in major league sports, New York is often topping those lists and it’s easy to see why; intense crowds, large local population, the draw is there. Why I’m putting it on Long Island? Ease of access mostly, it’s much easier to take a train directly to the game or drive to a stadium that’s 20 minutes away from your house as opposed to a major city where getting there will be a hassle. As for the name, I’d go with something simple but also respected and a name to be feared; Dragons. Look back to ancient folklore, dragons are commonplace as these wise creatures with near infinite wisdom and at the same time they’re also beasts of impressive power and danger. Many a knight was sent to their grave in stories as a result of a fire breathing dragon while the team will send opposing teams to their graves on the field. The uniforms will be simple, black base with a red and yellow trim. The black serves as an intimidating base while the red and yellow will remind others of the fire that the dragon casts with great skill. "You relieve the same day over and over again, you kind of start to see who you really are."
