Hey guys, today I’m sitting down with one of the Minnesota Grey Ducks most promising young rookies, Azarius Ranger, or MobiausGrander. He is a brand new player in the NSFL, and he’s caught on incredibly quickly, becoming one of the top earners among the Grey Ducks rookies. He's a talkative guy and probably the nicest rookie that I've spoken to. Let's get to know one of the league's rising stars a little bit.
Question: Who did you think was going to draft you? Are you happy with where you ended up?
Answer: As a rookie going through the process of scouting, I was scouted by most of the DSFL teams as I was a defensive end. However, the two teams that stuck out to me the most were the London Royals and the Minnesota Grey Ducks. I say that because as I was invited into both locker rooms I felt like I belonged in both locker rooms as both teams were very welcoming, chill, and not least of all very fun to be a part of. With that being said, I believed I was going to be drafted by either of the two teams. After being drafted by the Grey Ducks, I am very happy to have been drafted by the team as the older members are very fun and enjoyable to be around, especially when they jest and make light jokes about each other!
Hey we may have been around here for a little longer than you, but you don't have to call us old… hahah. I feel like the Grey Ducks were a perfect landing spot for you, since there are so many experienced guys in the locker room that are more than willing to help a new player learn about the league. I know that I'm extremely happy that I wound up getting drafted by the Grey Ducks, so hopefully you end up feeling the same way by the time you're called up to the big leagues, if you don't already..
Question: What's your favorite thing about the Ducks so far?
Answer: My favorite thing about the Ducks so far is that the whole team is very chill and very welcoming to all! In addition, my fellow members are a joy to talk to about a variety of topics and are willing to help and give general advice about life and about the league in general!
It is nice how welcoming it is there. And another cool thing is that even though Dewalt and CLG rampage have moved on, the locker room still has pretty much the same vibe to it. It's kind of cool and kind of funny to me how in the span of a few minutes, we can go from talking about the NSFL to talking about music to talking about who is the biggest simp for Bex in the locker room (hint: it's definitely Voiceless).
Question: Who are some of your favorite people that you've met in the league so far?
Answer: Some of my favorite people that I met in the league are my teammates on the Grey Ducks some of which are Chainbreaker, Brooks, Hillard, and Sakura; in addition, our great staff led by our GM, Ducky Magic, and supporters like Matty! In addition, I am also particularly fond of the London Royals members, most notably, Kyamprac and the leader of the team, their GM, Slyphreni, who I had the pleasure of getting interviewed by during the prospect draft process!
There sure are a ton of awesome guys in the Grey Ducks locker room, it's hard to narrow it down hahah. I have actually never had the pleasure of interacting with Syl, but I've only ever heard fantastic things about them, I'm sure they're great!
Question: How is your player doing this season? Are you meeting your goals?
Answer: Relative to where I was drafted, I feel that my player is doing adequately well. Officially as of today, I have registered over twenty tackles, over 5 TFLs, 2 FFs, and a sack. While I am happy that I can help contribute to the team, I feel that I am underachieving a bit. I say that because as I am watching the sim, I see my player trying his best to make high effort plays, yet I feel that I am not making as big an impact as I should in regards to causing as much disruption as possible. After my rookie season ends, I am going to train hard and gain as much experience as I can in order to improve a dozenfold and help our team next season.
That's what we like to hear, hard work in the offseason should put you in a position to have a breakout season when next year rolls around. I think that you're having an admirable year. It may not feel like it all the time, because your fellow Grey Ducks rookie is loved by the almighty sim gods, apparently, what with his TFLs being over half the amount of his tackles which is insane. But I'm sure the sim will look highly upon you too eventually! Just don't compare yourself to others like Garnuk. Just keep working and keep progressing, like you say you are going to!
Question: What are your hopes and expectations for your player, this season and in your career?
Answer: For this season, I hope that we can push for a playoff spot as I believe that we are talented enough to make the playoffs and show our skill and talent as a team. We may be below .500 at this point in the season, but I believe that we can turn it around and make the playoffs. For my player, this rookie season was a nice starting point for my career in this league. I believe that I performed adequately up until this point in my rookie season, yet I know that I need to improve in the offseason to get way better. My end goals for my career are to at least win a championship and to garner a DPOY award and to help my team to always contend for championships.
Those are honorable goals for sure. It's an uphill battle, but with some luck I think you guys can make the playoffs. As for your individual accomplishments that you want to achieve, they aren't easy ones, but if you keep working and progressing and earning, I don't see why they aren't possible. I have similar goals, but I'm not sure if I'll reach the award one, considering I messed up the early part of my career. You are actually something like twice what my TPE was when I got drafted to the NSFL :/ So you have as good a shot as anyone, I think, just keep the grind going.
Question: If you could create your own candy bar however you wanted, what would it be?
Answer: If I were given the opportunity to create a candy bar, I would prioritize the inclusion of dark and milk chocolate as ingredients to make the candy bar as rich and tangy and be able to melt in your mouth. In addition, I also would include caramel in the bar as caramel is one of my favorite ingredients in a candy bar. Essentially, I would create a bar with the milk chocolate feel of a Hershey Bar with the caramel and texture of a Twix Bar, which sounds like a great bar to have as a treat!
Doesn't beat a Reese's, but that isn't your fault, because nothing beats a Reese's hahah. I'll be honest, that doesn't sound half bad! I've gotten some weird answers to that question and I'm not sure if I'd try all of them, but I think yours sounds like it could be an actual candy bar!
Question: How many golf balls do you think could fit in the room that you're currently in? How did you come up with this number?
Answer: I believe that I can fit about 1500 golf balls in the small room that I am currently living in. I came to this conclusion by first visualizing how many balls would fit at the floor of my room; then I extrapolated and guessed how many layers high the golf balls would reach; then I just multiplied the number of estimated golf balls on the floor by the estimated number of layers high to get the estimated total number of 1500.
Hmm I don't know, 1500 seems like a really low number of golf balls. I hope you aren't in a room that small. I actually got asked this in a job interview in real life hahah. I got the job, so apparently they liked my answer. My method didn't give an actual answer, but I told them I would measure the diameter of the golf ball, and then measure the dimensions of the room. Then I'd treat the golf ball as a cube and get the volume of it. Then I'd divide the room's volume by the golf ball's volume and boom there's the answer. I told them if I got the job I'd figure out the real answer, but I never did hahaha, maybe I should do that this week. Good answer nonetheless!
Well thank you for chatting with me Mobi. I can't wait to see where you end up in the NSFL draft here before too long, maybe we'll even be teammates! And I also can't wait to see how your first player's career pans out. Take care man, thanks!
